To report my colleagues fantasy football team name?

We have a work fantasy football league, it’s advertised on the internal intranet site and emails were sent around about sign up details etc.

The league has gone live tonight so you can see everyone’s team including their team names.

A colleague has a team name which references stopping the boats - would it be wrong of me to report this?

Which is good, right? If any politics is allowed in the office at all then it’s good that all shades of mainstream opinion get represented. Diversity and neutrality and all that.

Fantasy Football team names are basically puns on existing teams or players with a self-reference. So on that basis it should be reported.

Otherwise YABU. And it's best to assume people who do not want to stop the boats are in favour of human trafficking and the deaths by drowning of vulnerable people.

I still disagree that a thread about reporting a team name to do with immigration isn’t about immigration, and that people talking about whether or not stopping the boats is a reasonable aim on this thread is a digression showing some sort of obsession, but I do grasp where you are coming from a bit more that you were referring to the colleague initially so apologies for the misunderstanding.

Thank you. That's very gracious of you. I genuinely opened this thread prepared for a discussion on what's appropriate in the workplace. Imo, any political stance of any persuasion isn't as its bound to cause division, when the point if these type of games is to have fun and bond. People who can't resist bringing an issue up all the time go too far, regardless of the issue. Because just as people have the right to speak on issues, so others have the right not to have everything turned round to that topic, particularly at work where you're a captive audience.

I’ve not read the whole thread but my son says the name moderation on the FPL App itself is by AI and so it won’t pick that up - as Nige could legitimately by a goalie or manager……and ‘them’ could be goals / other team etc.
There are probably far more dodgy names that have also got through….
Not sure I’d report anything at work tbh…

I was saying that there was no way it related to a Crystal Palace goalie from the 1980s, but somebody took offence that I used a sweary South London way of saying it, I guess.
