To think that Harry and Megan's return to the UK has everything to do with money running out?

That really. I mean it's not like they are loved here whether it comes to family or the public. I think Harry might genuinly want to live in England whereas his wife is looking for the attention and money.

That is not though what you wrote. I responded to what you wrote.

The bit about judging them?

I just feel that nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors in anyone’s family.

It’s easy to sit in judgement.

People can judge by actions taken in the public eye. By what is said in public. By what is written.
People can form a view of someone by their behaviour. You do not have to know someone to have an opinion.

What have they actually done that is so terrible? Harry is not the first person to write an autobiography. Neither of them are the first people to try to earn money from a "celeb" lifestyle.

They have done some things which are a bit cringeworthy and irritating. That is it.

RanniTheWitch · 20/08/2026 09:51

People move house all the time, including to different countries, especially when it is a couple with different countries of origin. Whether or not they get on with their siblings and wider family is irrelevant.

MoreLikeTwilight · 20/08/2026 09:53

Well it was certainly sudden by all accounts.

One thing’s for sure, this will be a big headache for the RF and associated institutional apparatus. The security issue will need to be reviewed. I don’t think they can privately hire armed protection in the uk. Beatrice lives in the Cotswolds but doesn’t receive continuous state protection. The risk levels are significantly different.

Apparently they want their children educated here, and to be nearer the Spencer family. Or perhaps it’s linked to the next Invictus games.

No, I was pointing out the "obvious difference" between them. I have no better opinion of the British Royal Family than I do American celebrity culture.

Keep on ascribing thoughts and prejudices to me, though, you obviously enjoy that kind of superiority posturing.

So the ‘obvious difference’ is because Harry is royal, he is genuine and reasonable and because Meghan is an American celeb she is a money-grabbing attention-seeker?

Because that’s what your post is saying.

MyDpsanarse · 20/08/2026 09:53

@TheBlueKoala my first thought was they're running out of options and money. All this time Harry's been adamant he couldn't bring his family to even visit the UK without security, now his two DC are enrolled in school here from next month_ that's a hell of a change in attitute.

Exactly.

And it’s nobody’s business.

That previous poster saying she hasn’t forgotten the interviews and isn't interested in seeing their faces unless they have mended things…ludicrous.

No wish to have a circular discussion.
People as you say can form an opinion. Usually based on what people do and say when in the public domain. Or write.
You can call that judging if you wish.

Ok, fair enough.

Melsy88 · 20/08/2026 09:55

Why do people care so much and have so much anger and hate in them?!

Meghan and Harry wont be popping over for tea, so it will make zero difference to your lives whether they live in the US or UK!

GCAcademic · 20/08/2026 09:39

Do we? I'm not white and I'm not fond of either of them, because they come across as entitled, tone-deaf, immature and spiteful, all while making significant claims of victim status.

Edited

I think it's because she's an outspoken woman, unlike Kate who barely spoke for years. Its good old misogyny in the press. I also think there might be something in them becoming more popular that K&W and needed to 'tarnish' them so the population wouldn't want them as the next K and Q .

MoveAwaySausage · 20/08/2026 09:57

The King probably wants to spend time with his son and grandchildren. He’s older and unwell…..he’d probably want to unify to show family solidarity for when ultimately the throne passes to William.

Why would anyone want to live in a crumbling old house in England when they have a beautiful house in Montecito?

Maybe if you could no longer afford that house.

I don’t think it is. I think people see her as manipulative and a bit odd.
Alarm bells sounded when she said she had no idea who he was when they first met. Whilst also admitting to being a huge Royal family fan and Diana fan especially. Made no sense. Even Harry looked uncomfortable. It all went wrong from there.

Here is a thought: perhaps Harry has ironed out the security issue? You don't know what conversations have happened behind the scenes. Presumably Charles loves his son and grandchildren and has helped pave the way for them to come to the UK safely.

imonlyherecosimbored · 20/08/2026 09:59

All the Daily Mail readers will be frothing at the mouth at this news 😂

SparkyBlue · 20/08/2026 09:59

I think Charles is unwell (hopefully im wrong) and they are coming over to build bridges with their family so that eventually when William becomes king they won’t be in the background for KC funeral and the next coronation. They want to try and get back to being front and centre of royal life. However I just don’t think people in the family will ever fully trust them again and they have made themselves into a laughing stock.

Seeingadistance · 20/08/2026 10:00

Sereine · 20/08/2026 09:11

I haven't seen any evidence of anger. If anything, people are laughing after the way these two went off in such a big huff, and the way H has been banging on about his family's security in the UK.

Yep.

I find it all quite entertaining, tbh. Harry is providing some comedic value for the small amount of money I personally have spent on him over the years.

Seen in a wider historical context his attitude isn't all that unusual. He just lives in the wrong time - a few centuries back he'd have been rampaging uselessly around with a small band of armed men, trying to raise an army so he could oust his brother and claim the throne for himself.

What would be the modern equivalent of William flinging him in the Tower?

No one forced Meghan to act like a spoiled Princess
No one forced them to ruin family ties by selling secrets in a tawdry book deal
They brought it all upon themselves.

Lots of "slebs" do it - deliberately put themselves out there all the time for the attention, money, etc., and then cry foul when they get attention they don't like.

Lots of other "slebs" manage to live a relatively normal, quiet, life as they don't court the media all the time, and some of them are pretty invisible in normal life.

Play silly games, win silly prizes!

Great post! This saying is so on point: "Play silly games, win silly prizes!"

Scride · 20/08/2026 10:02

I’m not interested in the Royal family so I don’t normally open this stuff. I have however read this and it’s fascinating. People are so invested in this couple and at the same time, hating them! Get a life!

dustabsorber · 20/08/2026 10:03

For the same rent as Andrew had it?

Dumbledora8 · 20/08/2026 10:03

Focus on your own life OP

RobinStrike · 20/08/2026 10:03

There are loads of YouTubers who are Americans who have moved to UK and chat about the differences in way of life. I can see Meghan could easily tap into this and do her own social media and books on the move. It gives her more drama to write about
