To think that Harry and Megan's return to the UK has everything to do with money running out?

That really. I mean it's not like they are loved here whether it comes to family or the public. I think Harry might genuinly want to live in England whereas his wife is looking for the attention and money.

With a £100m the bank - no they are not running out of money. 😂

Wealthy people don't see money the way we average people do because their outgoings are not the same.

Why would anyone care what Piers Morgan thinks? How bizarre.

It is not so much what Piers Morgan thinks; it is the fact that even many years ago, people could see that Meghan would cause trouble for Prince Harry and would wreck his relationship with the Royal family.

Yes, it’s all Meghan’s fault.

And the Royal Family is just perfect and not toxic at all.

It is true that a majority of the British public holds an unfavourable view of Meghan, with negative ratings of 61% to 65% in a recent YouGovtracking polls.

There are polls?!?

But does that mean "She has disgraced our nation with her behaviour and must be exiled!" or "Oh, the one with annoying Netflix programme? No I'm not particularly interested".

True, but the cost of maintaining a decent lifestyle in California is eyewatering - the property taxes alone on the house they were living in was probably about $100,000 a year or more.

To be fair, the house was a mansion not a regular house, and they said they'd initially thought it was out of their budget. To some extent, it probably was

It could be money, though I do know via a family connection that the king is far more unwell than has been made public so far.

Andrew did what a vast amount of people did, in a culture where it was the norm.

Much like Muslims do what they do, in the norm of their culture.

megharry turned on their family and betrayed them. In no culture is that considered acceptable.

What??

Rape and exploitation of trafficked women is OK because that's the norm in Andrew's culture?

And why are you bringing up Muslims?

How does the family member know?

That scrapped back hair is unflattering. She is stunning though and looked great in the photos in the rain. Was that when they left to try and live a quiet life of service?

PetulaGordeno · Yesterday 19:15

Most of the people I speak to my age, and we were brought up on the RF, especially Diana, just are no longer interested.
They never connected with Camilla.
Further disconnect when the late Queen died.
Fed up with the H&M circus.
But it’s the Andrew cover-up which sent most packing. As a teenager he was a dashing war hero to us.
It was once a family very removed from us. My parents respected them as they were pretty solid during WW2. Apart from a certain King who stepped down.
But now celebrity is more important then royalty and the whole thing is a mess.
The King was old when he got the job and then became ill.
And this H&M saga has been rumbling on for years.
Then you have William and Catherine leading the pack, and doing it pretty well and the likes of Anne and Edward doing the donkey work.
It is disjointed and needs a firm hand.

People also have very short memories
King Charles was very unpopular for a while i was watching a Documentary from the late 90s when he celebrated his 50th birthday
Camilla wasent allowed to attend
And the public who were asked said she would never be accepted as a Queen
Yet here we are.

It's not just short memories but also generational change. Gen Z and some Millenials were either born after Diana's death, or young children for the Charles/Diana/Camilla saga.

They are such parasites. Why don't they actually do something.

Probably because I'm old but who are Lily Collins and Brie Larson. Actually I'll go and Google them.

Lily Collins stars in the series Emily in Paris if that rings a bell? I know she was also in the biopic about the screenwriter of Citizen Kane (Mank) but not sure how popular that was in UK.
Brie Larson has been in some Marvel films, not sure what else.

Because the rest of the royal family are so hard working ?

Ive read some shit in my time on mumsnet but genuinely that was batshit. Honestly the way people excuse what Andrew did whilst vilifying Meghan and Harry is crazy but that poster brings a whole new level of WTF

WTF. This is not the norm or he would still be Prince Andrew. Just because some people or cultures were doing it doesn't mean it was ok.

There is no way Andrew has anyone up manship on Harry no matter how much hard work Harry is.

And this affects you and me how? If only that foresight had been applied to other members of the RF.

PetulaGordeno · Today 08:06

I heard an interesting point of view yesterday. When it comes to money it’s the press and the podcasters etc who really make money from the H&M saga.
Camilla Tominey even invited them into the Telegraph podcast. It’s all about the clicks.
If anyone can remember when Charles first made things official with Camilla, she was absolutely hated. I think her only fan was Pam Shipman from Gavin and Stacey.
She turned things around by being low key
I really liked Diana but I think her book and Panorama interview changed how things worked. It really upped the game in terms of turning the family into a soap opera.
Her and Charles openly admitting to cheating on each other was a new low.
One thing I’ve realised is that we don’t know any of these people. We see what we are presented with.
In my parents’ day there was a blind following of them.
I don’t know a single young person who is remotely interested in them.

HRTQueen · Today 09:09

I think Diana changed the narrative

the royal family with their extremely good team around them who had preserved their image by feeding the press stories constantly were suddenly not the only stories being told it was no longer one sided

many people still want to believe the one side as this narrative has been there all of our life time

their is interesting clip from the royal family tv show that was shown once and never again a fly on the wall type documentary of the queen and prince Philip looking at the papers and reports of a trip they had done the previous day it’s surprising how interested they are in the reports
