AIBU to think if we need to politely ask men not to rape women (or men), then we don't want such people in the UK?

Don't rape, sexually assault or make kissing noises' at people, asylum seekers warned in guidance about living in UK
UK arrivals have been told to treat women equally, not sexually assault partners or have sex with children in a new Home Office pamphlet. As well as the guidebook, a series of posters have also been designed by the government.

I don’t understand why the BBC describes him as a ‘teenager’ and his victim as a ‘woman’ when they were both 19 years old.

Yes it would be amazing if we could stop all vawg tomorrow.

Why do you think the govt have chosen to issue this pamphlet only to immigrants?

I’ve not heard of British men prosecuted with rape standing in court and using as their “defence” that they “don’t know what rape is” and “didn’t know it was a crime” or attempt to appear astonished at being informed that women are free to choose not to consent and when they say “no” you need to leave them the hell alone.

Have you?

No, you’re right, the reasons used by British men for rape are so much better. They include:

  • she was asking for it
  • she didn’t say no
  • she led me on
  • she wore sexy clothing
  • she was drunk so she didn’t resist
  • she changed her mind afterwards
  • it was a misunderstanding
  • she flirted with me earlier
  • She didn’t fight back

Which will also be the defence of some migrants on top of their other excuses

Not sure what you are arguing about or point trying to make

Something along the lines of British men can also be rapists so it doesn't matter if we let more men into the country to do the same

Agreed. Typical BBC. This reporting reminds me very much of their (and others') reporting on the women's rights (or as they call it the 'trans') issue. For YEARS they insisted on calling male rapists (sex attackers and murderers) in dresses and wigs, 'female rapists'.

The common theme with this and articles re asylum seekers being the manipulation of language for a purpose - the patriarchy, and demonstrating how utterly unimportant women and girls are to them. The Labour party being another prime example.

No one has argued for increased migration, that’s just a straw man you and others keep building.

But rape by British men isn’t somehow more palatable than rape by immigrants.

You benefit daily from the silence of black and Asian people on MN.

Where were you on MN when Jordan McSweeney brutally raped and murdered Zara Aleena?

Or when John Ashby raped a Sikh woman in Birmingham whilst telling her he was her white British master?

ToWhitToWhoo · Today 20:53

Kingdomofsleep · 19/08/2026 20:50

Actually I think it might be to prevent foreigners using ignorance of the law as a defence. So it's not intended to prevent any crimes but to make it easier to prosecute

Agree.

Again though - yes we have plenty of home grown rapists. We know. Hence not wanting more.

You make zero sense. The argument you are making quite rightly is rape is bad but you are not wanting people to talk about ways to hault some of those rapes. It seems it is all or nothing in your eyes or at least that how these arguments come across when reading them

You really are going to throw what you think the average black or Asian woman thinks about all this into the conversation. I think you have not got a clue outside of your own circle of like minded people. I speak from experience and many conversations.

It’s all rubbish anyway. Most of them are coming from countries where the punishment for raping a stranger is very severe, ranging from long prison sentences to the death penalty.

Their home countries may have different laws around things like marital rape (which isn’t considered a crime in some countries) but they certainly know attacking a stranger is wrong.

LlynTegid · Today 21:07

If there were only 1453 convictions for sexual assaults in the UK last year, that says a lot about our failing justice system. That must be a fraction of 1% of those assaulted.

Yes. Hence, ironically, some not being able to be deported after serving their sentence.

Couldn't make it up.

Pakistan expels tens of thousands of Afghans

Pakistan has deported more than 19,500 Afghans this month, among more than 80,000 who have left ahead of a 30 April deadline, according to the UN.

Pakistan has accelerated its drive to expel undocumented Afghans and those who had temporary permission to stay, saying it can no longer cope.
