AIBU to think if we need to politely ask men not to rape women (or men), then we don't want such people in the UK?

Don't rape, sexually assault or make kissing noises' at people, asylum seekers warned in guidance about living in UK
UK arrivals have been told to treat women equally, not sexually assault partners or have sex with children in a new Home Office pamphlet. As well as the guidebook, a series of posters have also been designed by the government.

You keep ignoring ‘per capita’ stats on every single thread I have seen you on.

The per capita threads seem to want to focus on the 22 Afghan immigrants convicted of sexual assaults last year rather than the 100,000 white British men reported by police each year.

Yes the naievity is off the scale! I saw a programme TEN years ago where the Germans were teaching Syrian migrants about women's rights etc and knew then that it was pointless - culture is not something you can simply teach. I don't understand why people like Rhiannon Whytes mum are not able to sue the authorities (preferably individuals and not institutions) for putting their relatives in danger with their foolish policies.

You won’t change deeply ingrained misogynistic attitudes, no. But you can remind them quite forcefully about abiding by the law. I think this leaflet is a good thing.

The official data from Statistics Denmark explicitly confirms that when you strictly adjust for age and isolate for men, massive statistical variations based on country of origin remain an empirical reality. This is why the Danish registry is universally regarded by criminologists as the most accurate reflection of demographic crime data in the world—it completely eliminates the counting errors and demographic guesswork that skew statistics in countries like the UK.

I call 'unreasonable' because demonising asylum seekers is a) part of a wider project by fascist entities and b) deflects from the major source of violence against women and girls, domestic abuse by partners and others known to the victim. 90% of sexual violence against women is perpetrated by someone known to them.

There is a wholly unacceptable epidemic of abuse of women, it's past time for Reform and all political parties to recognise it and deal with it. There is a problem with managing asylum seekers but it's dwarfed by our home-grown problem.

Rape Crisis - The facts about VAWG

The government must prevent the hijacking of violence against women and girls to promote racist, anti-migrant agendas

We're calling on the government to stop the far right and politicians linking sexual violence with migration.

I found this data table. It is by ethnicity though, not nationality.

I took your data table and added a couple of columns to analyse the data by population percentage so that it is more representative of recorded prosecutions/ conviction rates per head of population.

There seem to be very significant differences between the likelihood of rape prosecutions/ convictions in different ethnic groups, which cannot be accounted for by “police/ jury prejudice” or suchlike given that some of the categories with the lowest recorded offending rates are not white/ European (e.g. Chinese, Arab).

Obviously there may also be differences in reporting levels within some ethnic groups as well, which makes it harder to analyse what is happening. But it’s probable that this factor would actually make the gap between actual offending rates and recorded prosecutions higher, not lower, given that the women in the ethnic groups with higher recorded prosecution/ conviction rates generally also tend to also be those where the women are more likely to be subject to coercive or physical or financial abuse and therefore less likely to feel able to make reports to the police at all.

What is disturbing is that nearly 30% of prosecutions and convictions were in categories with this data not recorded or specified at all, or unclear categorisations. It’s unclear why the data is being recorded in some cases and not others. We cannot make appropriate evidence-based public policy if authorities like the police and justice system do not keep accurate records. It’s unacceptable.

You’re playing the same old game pretending that there are people calling for uncontrolled immigration.

When in reality most people are happy that net immigration has been reduced so much by Labour government.

The reality is that the UK has signed up to the ECHR, so we have to assess asylum requests.

You may choose to live in a non-reality where you can turn everyone away, but those of us who live in reality know that thats illegal.

I’d love to live in a world where men didn’t rape and sexually assault women, but until that day, of course men, of whatever race, should be told not to rape. Maybe if we taught it in schools too there wouldn’t be such an epidemic of violence against women in the UK, the majority of which is by white men.

It is possible. Australia only gives controlled humanitarian visas to a capped amount of people needing refuge.

Why not have that?

Obviously @SpiritAdder I don’t know where you got the table from in the first place and the source of the data, so cannot vouch for its accuracy. I just added some statistical analysis to it to make it representative per head of population.

Afghani men do pose a greater threat. The us gov has imposed a full travel ban on Afghanis

I really don't think the UK needs to follow the example of a country that has elected a demented giant Cheeto as their president, tbh. And elected him twice!

God knows, we've had some pisspoor PMs in recent years, but none in that league.

The age of consent is different in different countries.

in Islam, like in the U.K. up until the 1990s rape within marriage is not a thing.

understanding the laws of the country you are in is important.

plenty of British people assume the law elsewhere is the same as the U.K. and come a cropper.

In Dubai all sex outside marriage is illegal but the authorities largely turn a blind eye. This British person was arrested and jailed however

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cq8zdvzj5vwo

You are wrong. Sex outside marriage and cohabiting is not illegal in Dubai if you are over 18, so there is no need for authorities to “ turn a blind eye”

This person was prosecuted as the girl was only 17 and the case was subsequently dropped. Didn’t you even read the article you linked to?

But aren’t men who are so brazen that they will rape/ assault/ abuse women in public also far more likely to be those perpetrating the hidden domestic abuse as well? I don’t think it’s reasonable to assume that these things are mutually exclusive. In fact, the data from offenders demonstrates that they are not.

cornflakecrunchie · 20/08/2026 10:52

I just can't be doing with bleeding heart liberals.
The world over, people are finding out what letting these people in our countries results in. Look at Sweden..
I have NO problem with people of any colour / race coming here to add to our way of life, & I live in a multicultural area. But these men - and it IS men - coming in - nope. I fail to understand what the problem is with packing them off home. How they must laugh at us all, wrangling with stupid laws that give them the 'right' to be here.

givemesteel · 20/08/2026 10:56

Leapintothelightning · 19/08/2026 20:49

Sooo 74% were British nationals?
yeah sounds like an immigration issue…

The way I see this is over 1 in 4 rapes wouldn't have happened in this country if those men were not in the country.

It's not like non rapey British men think oh there's a hold load of women that haven't been raped because the foreign nationals are not here so I'll do my bit.

These statistics show that foreign nationals are disproportionately more likely to be a rapist.

So the current immigration policy is having a direct impact on every woman in this country by making us statistically more likely to be raped.

Another point on this: I’d also like to see proper data from the Government on the number of reported offences, not just those that they decided to prosecute (which is a woeful percentage of the total).

Excellent post. I'm no longer interested in appeals to the ECHR and international law, we can change laws or opt out from them. We tried to operate a humane offering for asylum seekers and spent billions upon billions of pounds doing it at a time when our credit cards are well and truly maxed out, they repaid us by raping children and pensions and murdering women with screw drivers.

We're only talking about the real heinous crimes here by the way. Even without those, the petty crime, the violence, the street harassment and antisocial behaviour is more than enough to conclude that it needs to end completely. I have had enough of watching tens of thousands of people break into our country each year and being told that we're stuck with the consequences and the costs of it.
