To ask if you think the prime minister has a democratic duty to house asylum seekers in middle class areas

By which I mean, would most voters support this as opposed to a change in policy to refuse in greater numbers? I honestly can't tell what "the majority" actually wants. I would prefer fewer having seen how things went in Germany thanks to the Merkel wave but I am willing to believe I'm a backwards old boomer and a majority would be more welcoming.

They (UK governments) tend to say they have no choice due to the echr but this isn't true. There are a lot of operational choices they could make (eg sometimes when people are denied entry at the border they are actually allowed into the country for a few days and instructed to report back to the airport when it's time for the removal flight).

His duty is to ensure none get in. We need to preserve our culture and way of living, we can’t rescue all of the Middle East and Africa from themselves. We’ll go down in the process.
It’s only fair if asylum seekers are also housed in middle class areas and it means something will soon be done about this. Until now the middle classes could enjoy the non-waacist moral high ground because they were completely unaffected. A few of their daughters assaulted by these types will soon change things.,

We're obviously not in control of our own borders. Neither are the rest of Europe, Canada, Australia or New Zealand. Even the US is experiencing an influx of middle eastern/north African people. It's baffling. Almost as though it's a coordinated effort.

It’s happening to almost all previously homogeneously white countries simultaneously at great speed and against the wishes of the populations. Anyone still convincing themself that it’s a benign, natural phenomenon is deeply deluded.

They already live in middle class areas. They integrate much easier when the local population isn’t hostile to them.

But housing is expensive in nice areas. Do you want even more of your taxes spent on them to house them in said nice areas? Thought not.

yes the net zero nonsense which only seems to apply when it suits (stick to beat us with and to exhort money out of taxpayers)

in my area there seems to be a correlation with litter and flytipping as well and it has definitely increased of late

Litter and flytipping are the norm in a part of Sheffield. Nothing to do with the so called ‘asylum seekers’ but around 7000 Slovaks who moved to the area thanks to Blair opening our borders to A8 nationals after they joined the EU, long before other Western countries.

Street fights are not uncommon, last week was the most recent resulting in arrests and temporary Stop and Search powers. Integration? They can’t even cohabit peacefully with others from their country.

Yes, like that BeatrizBoniface and we're beginning to emulate the worst of California. Once they relaxed prosecution over there of shoplifting under $1,000 some business in showcase cities such as San Francisco started to move out, leaving the opioid tent dwellers to it.

You really have no idea. I live in a poorer area of London and I've seen it all - been doing some work in Ilford, ffs! I can't get bothered by Whitechapel or Stratford. I'm fine with these places and feel comfortable. This was on another level. I did not feel unsafe - but it was still awful. Like a very crowded poor African refugee camp/ village transplanted onto a Paris street.

Edited

Many people feel intimidated and unsafe in Whitechapel, you find comfort as you are used to that set up.
I don’t disagree that Paris is destroyed. I do disagree that the majority of European countries aren’t closely behind Paris.
Every local park close to me has strange men hanging around, some smoking drugs in bushes, using the bush as a toilet, staring at women. My friend lives in Germany, she has the same issues.

There is a perpetual conflation on these type of threads between immigrants and asylum seekers. This country actively needs immigration we don’t have enough doctors, nurses, social care staff and many other skilled occupations. These immigrants- of whatever nationality or race - pay taxes, that contribute to social benefits such as pensions, schools etc. Asylum seekers are seeking asylum; refuge from war, persecution etc. I’ve met asylum seekers from Syria who underwent horrific torture, rape etc. and who are now contributing to this country by working and being part if our community. Don’t lump everyone together. And please accept that some people are genuinely fleeing appalling situations, and we as an advanced nation have a duty to offer refuge, as we have done for hundreds of years. Look up Belgian refugees in WW1.

Why do you repeat this nonsense. As someone else has already pointed out there is a shortage of training contracts for UK trained doctors so why would we need immigrants to fill these jobs. There is a well established process for recruiting nurses from other countries. They arrive with jobs and visas already organised, they do not cross the channel in dinghies with nowhere to live when they get here. Initially their residency is tied to their job contract. We can selectively recruit for jobs where there are shortages. We don't need to allow tens of thousands to arrive and hope some of the people have skills we need.

I think British Jews would feel very unsafe in Whitechapel, Tower Hamlets and all other such migrant enclaves.

I have an easy solution. Pull the plug on the hotels, the benefits, the phones, the days out, the cooking lessons, etc etc . Problem is its being made too attractive to come here and live off the British people.
I foresee unrest in a very big way if it carries on unabated

Edited

I agree.
Put the scrounging bleeders in tents on Benbecula and give them a few lumps of peat for fires and and some scrag end of neck to cook, with a few tatties.
I guarantee the scramble across the channel would abate within a month !

Until something does happen, when you can’t let your daughter out without supervision.
Or does the middle class air prevent men from committing sexual assault? Maybe all those who have a history of sexual assault should move there, since it’s so non hostile and changes the behaviour of rapists.

I would not be dramatic and say they are "destroyed" but it's definitely a shit show.

I've seen people begging and camping in parks in London - it's really crap as they seem to be part of an organised group - but what really pisses me off (more than how they got here) is why they are allowed to do that.

I don't think there is anything baffling about it. The Internet has enabled the world to see how other people live. Do you think they don't have internet in Syria or Somalia? Furthermore, word of mouth from other immigrants about how in the UK they'll give you a cheap council house and pay you to have children and there's a whole raft of other benefits the government will give to you for free. Even if you don't get them initially, once you've scored your ILR and then full citizenship, you can plug into also sorts of things funded by those mugs, the British taxpayer, like free medical care on the NHS. They probably get jackshit from the country they are coming from...

I remember reading a story on the BBC about two brothers that had done the crossing - one drowned - because their father needed an operation they couldn't afford.

It's all about the money. But when did the UK become a Charity?

Edited

The issue isn’t that suddenly thousands upon thousands of people (young men mostly) from third world countries want to cone here. The issue is that western governments are enabling and encouraging it, at enough speed, in almost every previously white country. Does that not strike you as strange and in need of an explanation?

I don't know - but I've seen Orthodox Jewish families/ people in those areas and they seemed ok. There are a lot that can be seen around Stratford. They did not seem intimidated.

In your frothing anger did you actually read my post you absolute Neanderthal 😂

Asylum seekers are ALREADY housed in middle class areas. It’s ok. No one has been converted into a rabid racist by their presence.

Not sure what the insult is for but Piddington is said to be pretty affluent and they do mind, they held a vote.

Labour are going for mass accommodation in barracks not housing anyway.

TakeMeorLeaveMe · Today 14:55

The more interesting question is why there is a suggestion to house them in middle class areas.

Is this actually just a dressed up welfare concern? That putting them in "middle class" areas rather than "councilly" Britain First areas might be safer for them?

On the other thread someone who claimed to be in the relevant circles said that the real reason is that a lack of options in cheaper areas mean more expensive housing is going to be needed. This is being suggested as fair to stave off complaints at the expense.

Other suggestions where that the motivation is to place future Labour voters in Tory areas or to target areas with “too many white people”.

By integrate, do you mean assimilate fully into British society? Get a dog, go to the pub, cheer England on at the cricket, moan about the weather..?

Or do you mean insulate themselves within the same misogynistic, homophobic, racist, antisemitic cultures that built the very nations they claim to be fleeing from in desperation? If so, how exactly is it benefitting them - or us - to have such cultures embed themselves here, when we can very clearly see the horrifying results of the societies they create? Why on earth would anyone support this?

Nothing of note has happened since the first wave of Syrians arrived over 7 years ago. 🤣 The local population knows them by sight if not by name, we exchange smiles at the school gate and the supermarket. It’s fine, but sorry to burst the bubble on your racist assumptions.

Jewish people do not feel safe, and that should be a serious concern.

localnotail · Today 14:59

We have to accept that migration is going to increase and it will get to a point where we cant stop it even if we tried. What we need is a robust system aimed at processing migrants, getting them to work as soon as possible and contribute to economy, while deporting the ones that have criminal record etc. Not allowing any in between crap with people falling through the net and joining criminal gangs. We had Windrush and those people were massively positive for the country. Why not new incomes? But it needs to be tightly controlled. And deffo no spontaneous refugee camps in parks.

So it sounds like they are families, and probably arrived via an official resettlement scheme.

That’s quite different to the young men arriving on boats.

There are specific areas that are being targeted by aggressive pro-Palestinian activists. Nothing to do with migrants as such as a lot of these protesters are homegrown.

Unfortunately, I have come across some virulent antisemitism very much linked to migrants.
