So Andy Burnham has no plan, other than to spread illegals far and wide? To what end? It’s a serious question because a plane load comes in every day. People are in dire straits financially, yet the government has the money to house never ending illegals. Let’s also be honest, even if you live in a middle class area, it’s only ever a stones throw to the nearest poorer area. Everyone is affected whatever your ‘class’.

I've never been on benefits but I do know the figures involved. It is well publicised that a lot of benefits are more than the minimum wage, especially if you have children.

Absolutely not - am vocal in my support to my mainly lefty Guardian reading friends and colleagues. Probably helps that I'm only a generation removed from working class, inner city poverty though.

The Afghan scheme was quite badly handled. Many people who came here had their applications accepted despite not doing anything particularly valuable for the UK, because their applications had been involved in a data breach.

(And many people who came through the Afghan scheme did help in special forces operations. I'm just using this to reinforce my earlier point: the bars to entry for very many "socially acceptable" legal visa schemes are not as high as people imagine them. Some people who clear the bar are great. But it's not a guarantee that everyone on that route is someone we want in Britain.)

So the whole drama about Southampton asylum seekers hotel - this is a very middle class area. Why the assumption that they are in some magic not middle class areas?

do you live in a 90% + white area? no - London - I don't think there are any 90% white areas in London!
have you every called a working class person racist for complaining about the effects of mass immigration on their community? no, and never would! I'm usually the one complaining and being called racist!

Smaller population = smaller costs eg less pressure on NHS, less services required, less doctors needed etc etc. Importing people is an excuse. Importing masses of unvetted illegal men is down right dangerous.

Stop them coming, then no-one will have to take their ‘fair share’. It turns my stomach seeing all those men reaching our shores. We need to post our own police/security on the French side, because the millions we’re paying the French to do that job is an obscene waste of money. They literally just stand and watch them climb on the boats.

Most of the new camps being targeted are in rural areas which would traditionally have been voting Conservative. They might reasonably be regarded as middle class. The camp close to Thetford (RAF Burnham), falls into this category. In nearby Diss we have similarly had a reasonably large number of refugees housed, though these were Afghan families who did not really provide any issues.

The challenge is that in these rural areas there will be no extra policing and refugees would be able to roam at will. This understandably leaves us rural dwellers feeling very exposed.

Labour don’t have any substantive plans to stop them coming or reduce the numbers arriving by any real margin.

They just plan to ‘process’ them quicker and give them ‘easier routes’. whats that going to do, other than encourage it even more?

I am probably middle class, live in an area that is 90%+ white British. Grew up in the 80’s in a London borough that was 90% white British and now it’s around 30%. The town is unrecognisable from the place I grew up in and no I have never called a working class person racist for those reasons.

They mostly only work in low paid jobs, don't pay tax and receive benefits.
