Count Binface has been out bigging-up Clacton and drawing attention to its potential.

It’s a really positive campaign.

I don’t think he’ll win but I’d love it if he did. I think he’d be brilliant.

And if he doesn’t, I think other candidates could learn a lot from his approach.

I think it would also be a farce to have another by-election after whatever committee decision is made. It's not like they are going to come back with new information not already baked into voters' decision making.

It's not a farce if it's the established rules. Perhaps he's been just trying to avoid being held to account for it. Perfectly possible new information could come to light or be more publicised anyway.

The rules just say a recall petition has to be made available for voters to sign, they don't have to sign it. They might not support Farage but not want to have the fuss and expense of an election for example.

Fwiw I think Farage's early by-election stunt was pointless and that he should have declared the money, although I overall hope that Reform forms the next government despite this.

No, why do you hope they form the next government? Immigration is down and theres still a long time to go until the next GE. It might not be a pressing issue by then, or we might need to look at it differently in the light of factors such as climate change and our own ageing population.

I just defend the right of the voters to chose Farage over the other candidates in the general election and this by-election. Pity the other's didn't turn up.

Immigration from the last few years needs to be significantly reversed, and this will still be true in 3 years time. The phrase "immigration is down" to mean "we have slightly slowed down the intake rate but it's still significantly higher than it ever has been historically, and still significantly higher than a rate which would enable integration" is disingenuous in the extreme.

Whether Reform have the practical ability to do this is another question, but comparing them to other parties I judge that they have the best combination of chance of being elected and willingness to act on the issue.

Why do people always assume immigration means small boats? I'm of course dissatisfied with the inability to police the border, but the vast majority of harmful immigration in the last few years has been very low-skilled and culturally-incompatible legal immigration.

Farage has literally been pictured on the cliffs at Dover. I haven’t heard him talking much about ‘low skilled legal immigration’. On that then, who do you think makes up most of the work force in social care and many auxiliary areas of the NHS?

I think the lackadaisical attitude of the French authorities accepting our cash but waving the migrants off in their boats has a lot to do with the numbers and why haven't they closed the superstores selling life jackets by the lorry load.

Brexit happened in the March same month Covid hit which was a more immediate issue. Brexit was put on the back burner and never recovered.

Will it remain your single issue and will you remain sure only reform can solve it or will you focus on another single issue? And what would that single issue likely be?

You don’t find many people honest enough to admit being a single issue voter so I find it interesting.
