Count Binface has been out bigging-up Clacton and drawing attention to its potential.

It’s a really positive campaign.

I don’t think he’ll win but I’d love it if he did. I think he’d be brilliant.

And if he doesn’t, I think other candidates could learn a lot from his approach.

You're demanding that I prove you've been racist on this thread. I haven't said that you have.

You said you would vote unashamedly for racist parties. What does that infer? Anti racists do not vote for Reform, neither do they say that they would openly vote for the National Front or BNP.

Only you know if you're a racist or not. I'm simply making an accusation which you are free to refute. Just like the accusations which you've made and others are free to refute, if they feel it's a valuable use of their time.

It’s not inherent on any party to field a candidate in an election if they don’t wish to. It’s in no way unfair that they didn’t? This election didn’t need to be called. It’s been completely pointless and a waste of money.
It hasn’t shown that the people of Clacton believe Farage hasn’t broken the parliamentary rules by accepting his 5 million quid from a crypto billionaire, then voting for policies that would benefit crypto billionaires, because that’s not what they were asked to vote on.
It hasn’t done what Farage thought it would, and it’s just cost 250 grand and caused further division.

It hasn’t upset ‘the establishment’ (or the bin) as it’s just retained the status quo. I personally don’t understand how people who voted for him don’t get that but that’s the way it goes.

If found guilty he will be suspended from
parliament and if and only if that’s for more than 10 days will there be another Clacton election. Again a further waste of time and money for all involved. Which in itself is ridiculous. Farage could have saved all this by just being honest, or even undertaking to answer the questions put to him. I will never understand how his supporters don’t see this-but then I’m sure they would never understand some of my points of view either. I just hope more people question it and other things about him and Reform in general as a result of this scrutiny, and yes, the work of the bin on raising the profile of this election and the questionable activity of Farage.

The electorate voted Farage in for up to five years. He had no business making them go to the polls again.

Once again, you're making things up. Just because I didn't confirm your presumptions, doesn't make me a racist. No, Reform voters are not racist, that's again something you're fabricating. They have different political views to you. You've concluded I'm racist without any strand of proof.

By continually assuming that Farage is unsuitable to stand you are deriding the voters who voted him in. He is their choice. The other parties made a mockery of our political system by backing away. If they were so sure the people of Clacton had at last seen through him, they would have put up candidates and got rid of him before the next election.

There's a difference between twisting words and correcting someone's wrongful interpretation of what you have said. You claimed I called Reform voters racist and I cleared up your misunderstanding.

I'm glad Farage won and also think this whole thing has been a bit of a farce, glad it's over, and it was a waste of time for all involved.

I think it would also be a farce to have another by-election after whatever committee decision is made. It's not like they are going to come back with new information not already baked into voters' decision making.

If your MP was found guilty of wrongdoing, wouldn't you want the chance of a recall petition? Surely you wouldn't be happy to let serious misconduct go entirely unpunished, however mild and ineffective that punishment was? It's a case of principle and standards.

The thing is, everything I've said is here on public record. I haven't attempted to edit or remove a thing. So people can judge for themselves whether I've backpedalled or not. I'm happy with what I've written.

I don't have anything against recall petitions, I'm saying I think it would be an utter waste of time unless there is substantial new information revealed that wasn't available yesterday. So if I were a voter in Clacton asked to sign one, I would decline. Other voters in Clacton might make different choices.

Yes, I'm not sure I'd see much point but for me that would be because I think Farage would be elected in Clacton whatever he did. The only thing that would stop him being elected there would be if he was in prison. The voters there love him, plus I think people enjoy being represented by a party leader. I'd still sign it though. Mr Farage has a lot to say about other people's conduct so I think he should be held accountable for his own.

Tbf Farage's track record in every single elected position he has held should be proof enough he's unsuitable for public office, but if voters want to ignore that because he shouts populist rhetoric that's their choice. Doesn't mean their choice is above derision though.

As to why are they (not sure who they are? Renewable developers or investors maybe?) putting solar panels on farmland, it's generally because farmers are happy to sell/lease the land to said developers and it's cheaper to build there than in established urban centres.

I expect they will. If everyone who voted for Binface signed a recall petition the required number will be almost reached, only another 400 would be needed.
