To think Count Binface is doing a great job in the Clacton by-election?

Count down to Bin Day!

Count Binface has been out bigging-up Clacton and drawing attention to its potential.

It’s a really positive campaign.

I don’t think he’ll win but I’d love it if he did. I think he’d be brilliant.

And if he doesn’t, I think other candidates could learn a lot from his approach.

Well, his new start has commenced with the usual mix of lies, gracelessness and whining. The Parlimentary Standards Committee is still waiting Nigel, come on down.

Well done Count and thank you.

There are some crazy people out there who kill MPs. You think it's a laughing matter after Ann's brutal murder. How do you know what threat he faces on a daily basis. None of you give a fuck about Clacton, it's just another outlet for you to show your intolerance. How dare Clacton not vote for a candidate YOU thought they should.

Not sure why you are suggesting I am laughing at the Ann Widdicombe murder. That’s quite an (offensive) leap. Assume you are making reference to Farage’s fictional rationale for not turning up. He has been called out by the Police and reputable press. Even if you are a Farage supporter you could honestly acknowledge the reasons for his no show.

ETA wry amusement at a Farage supporter bemoaning others’ intolerance

Darker · 14/08/2026 08:48

@LuckyHazelFox . You say “None of you give a fuck about Clacton”.

I’m not a Clacton resident but I do care very much about underserved communities.

In your opinion, do you think the residents of Clacton will be better served by Farage than they would have been by Binface? And why?

OP posts:
Darker · 14/08/2026 08:51

And I don’t like seeing people being made fools of. Farage called the election to save his own face. Not to benefit the electorate.

how dare you use Anne Widdecomb’s death to make a cheap political point.

The problem with your stance is that you believe, or affect to believe that those of us opposed to Farage are disappointed that he won. Your argument falls apart somewhat because we're delighted. Not only has he been humiliated but he's got to go back and face accountability for his actions. Do you really think he wanted to win this one? I mean surely not, but perhaps you do. Farage wanted to lose so he could say it was an establishment stitch up, then lie low until shortly before the next GE when he'd make his triumphant return, Posh George and all completely forgotten. No wonder he didn't turn up at the count. Even he would have struggled to look smug about this result. Instead he chose to spend the night - and this is bizarre but true - at an event called.... Farage Fest!

sittingonabeach · 14/08/2026 09:06

Well Farage is showing Clacton what a great MP he will be for them yet again, by not turning up, not showing his face anywhere, not acknowledging any of the other candidates. Is he going to use the excuse of security for not doing any work as an MP. If he is so worried about security he could have stepped away from politics. It’s not like he does anything for the people of Clacton

Scotiasdarling · 14/08/2026 09:09

Just remember Nigel Farage has won a greater share of the vote than Burnham did in his by-election (both polls engineered for political expediency). All the main parties have achieved by being too frightened to stand against him is hand him a bigger majority.

And maybe we should remember that people are innocent until found guilty?. He's being investigated. Save your criticism until we actually know what he's done.

sittingonabeach · 14/08/2026 09:12

I’d like to know what he has done for the people of Clacton so far

BIossomtoes · 14/08/2026 09:13

Just remember Nigel Farage has won a greater share of the vote than Burnham did in his by-election

On a much smaller turnout with no serious competition. Are you really so deluded that you believe the motivation of the main parties in not standing was fear? You really have drunk the Reform Koolaid.

tilypu · 14/08/2026 09:14

LuckyHazelFox · 14/08/2026 06:54

The only laughing stock is the 87 per cent of you who seriously thought the comedy candidate would win. You even thought a Punch and Judy show arguing the toss about the cost of ice cream was a good idea. What happened to the grown ups being back in charge? Oh well, another result for you to scratch your head about, until the next one.

Your comprehension is lacking.

The 87% vote was for Count Binface 'doing a great job' not 'going to win'.

This is a quote from the opening post 'I don’t think he’ll win'...'

itsgettingweird · 14/08/2026 09:15

He doesn’t turn up for constituency meetings - I’m not surprised he didn’t turn up to stand next to a bin who got nearly half the number of votes as he did.

He’s hiding because he’s humiliated.

He couldn’t win this election even by winning and that’s why it was so delicious from the start.

Called because he thought the investigation into his money would stop.

Except it was only postponed until the by election.

He won - it starts again.

He lost - it’s to a bin!

He won - it’s to a bin

His party and advisors are so dim they don’t even realise if he won they’d restart the investigation.

The “man of the people who will save you money” has cost the tax payer £350k for a by election that achieved NOTHING.

The people Of Clacton DO deserve someone who will make a difference for them. There are some real areas of extreme socio economic deprivation.

But someone who doesn’t ever visit and make real change on the ground and just tells them “it’ll all be better when we stop the small boats” isn’t someone who affecting REAL change.

I have a Reform MP. I don't like her or the party. But at least she is here and making changes which she feels are for the greater good even if I don’t agree with a lot of her rhetoric.

Darker · 14/08/2026 09:15

The main parties were quite happy to save their breath and let him face the music.

Count Binface did us all a great service by keeping the attention on Farage’s exercise in vanity and petulance.

"Humilated."..hmmmm!

I'm sure Burnham wishes he had won 63.3%, the figure Farage won.

Just to remind you, Burnham won 53% of the Makerfield vote.

Rather than feeling humiliated, Burnham, felt that that was enough of a mandate to automatically become PM.

Yes, I know there will be a lot of "What If the Labour and Conservative had stood."

Well, the thing about "What ifs" is that we will never know.

What if Burnham had immediately called a General Election, as many thought he should by the way.

By the way, it's a moot point that Labour didn't stand-I think most people knew Binface was a Labour Candidate in all but name,

That was one of the reasons he only won 26%, despite having the backing of many Labour Luvvies, including Alastair Campbell, Andy Burnham and what probably sank him, Carol Vorderman!

Yup.

He did get a greater share of the vote.

But Andy Burnham's main competitor wasn't a bin. And he was standing against all the main parties. Farage was standing against none of the main parties.

So you can twist it that way if you like, but it is disingenuous to suggest that it is in any way comparable.

What was his excuse for not showing up in Clacton before Widdecombe's murder?

Why did he need £5m?

BIossomtoes · 14/08/2026 09:19

Just to remind you, Burnham won 53% of the Makerfield vote.

On a higher turnout, against all the main parties. You’re really struggling if you seriously think the two are comparable.

what a bellend. He beat a man dressed as a bin, in a pointless by-election

What a leader. What a statesman 🤣🤣🤣🤣

One of his manifesto pledges was to fill the potholes with copies of Labour’s manifesto.

We know that he was given £5 million within the twelve months before the 2024 election which he didn't declare, contrary to parliamentary rules. We know that after receiving the money, he changed his mind about standing as an MP. Do you suggest we pretend that didn't happen?

Uricon2 · 14/08/2026 09:25

Shouldn't be forgotten that Reform threw all the manpower and resources they could at this, including pulling people off the campaign for Manchester Mayor, to ensure the Great and Ever Popular Leader won. Slightly different level of resourcing to an Independent with a bunch of £3 donations and no real team.

Interesting and encouraging that a couple of the local Independents got more than a handful of votes.

SomaTaim · 14/08/2026 09:25

They didn't because they both (justifiably) felt that they would lose to reform.

and @BIossomtoes you have no idea how ridiculous you sound with the "drinking Kool aid" remark. We live in a democracy and I have to tell you that people are allowed to think differently from you.
