Sure, people "luffs" her, but I think it's the result of genius-level PR to tap into a global female market. And I just don't think I'd be mates with someone who wanted to achieve that. Even her famed generosity seems like a calculated move, as was the naff "supermodel girl gang", and the PR the followed relationships.

(I recall that Tom H was "too keen on publicity" but then "Joe Alwyn was a welcome private retreat" then "oh, Joe was stifling her" which then became "Travis loves to shine with her" - so calculated. I believe Calvin Harris when he said it was her ambition to "bury" Katy Perry! It's all just a PR merry go round to hook in credulous types.)

I don't personally know about Taylor Swift and her previous "relationships" but there are certainly big name celebs who have paid other but lower level celebs to be "in a relationship" with them which is basically just being seen with them occasionally.

They do this for one of two reasons:

a) for the big name to boost their profile
b) for the big name to hide something or someone (such as their actual sexuality)

The lower level celebs agree not just for the money but to raise their own profile.

I can’t get past the fact that he’s a nepo-baby and that he does smugly patronise his interviewees. The treatment of Ann Widdecombe would never do now - the intrusiveness - almost bullying her - the sexual mockery and basic lack of respect because she was that absolutely ridiculous thing: an unmarried woman of a certain age. I think we all see through the superficial charm nowadays.

My husband was a senior curator at a London museum. He was asked to give up his evening to do a private tour for Beyoncé- which she had apparently specifically requested. She didn’t greet him, didn’t make eye contact, spent the time chewing gum and scrolling on her phone while he talked and was surrounded by her beefy entourage throughout. No-one thanked him - or even engaged with him. He said it felt as though HE had imposed himself on her!

I guess she wanted to say to people “I had a special tour of the ……..Museum “ to make herself sound cultured and intelligent. I can’t for the life of me work out what else she was thinking.

I've not particularly followed Taylor Swift, but I have a really retentive memory, and a knowledge of PR, and found the narrative around all the relationships to be very self-serving, all tied together with a relatable song for female fans to root for.

Are she and her husband in love? Possibly, probably, maybe. Has their relationship, real or not, been curated perfectly for PR? Definitely. And I find that tacky.

They tried out the "here's Taylor with her model gal pals cavorting" thing, and found it didn't play well for relatability. So they pivoted from that.

I find it annoying enough when my friends ponce about on LinkedIn or Insta, I definitely CBA with someone doing PR at Taylor's level.

I get an awful vibe from her. Have you seen the Graham Norton episode where she criticises Helena Bonham Carter’s dress sense? People laughed but it just seemed like primary school bullying.

I know that her being in touch with old friends makes her seem grounded to some.

For me, it makes her seem like a school bully! Surely you'd outgrow such people if you became a major celeb. Unless the people were 'at the top' of the social hierarchy back then. The 'cool' group from my childhood school are still in touch, for them, the benefits of being school bullies never stopped.

Yes, he had addiction problems which he got help for, a large amount of people brought up in addiction households do and his lyrics in his early days regarding violence towards Kim were not acceptable or nice in my opinion (he says these were purely art and he’s maintained a good relationship with Kim, supporting her even though they divorced) but I do truly believe he’s one of Hollywood’s good ones.
