Just cut my own hair-totally ruined it!

I have long hair and have trimmed it once before using the ponytail method and it was fine.
I did this again today and it looked nice, just a basic trim.
Then I looked at the front layers as they needed trimming.
I followed a tutorial but have completely wrecked my hair. It’s uneven at the front, just tufts of hair, cut far too short, they don’t look like layers, just an almost blunt cut of too short tufts at the front.
Sat here crying as it looks so ridiculous. Can’t go to the hairdresser as they can’t cut that part even shorter, plus i’m far too embarrassed too
How long will it take to grow?

Go to the salon and ask for a shag

My hairdresser told me once they get a lot of 'homers' that need sorting out, even from people who are regulars. I got married with bright orange hair at the back. I would have been bald if she had cut it out.

What about my hair though?

Go and get it cut properly so you don't feel so mortified.

It will be shorter but it's the summer, everyone will think you've had a nice cut for the warm weather!
