AIBU to stay indoors during heatwave

To stay inside all day during 33° heat. I’ve done pretty much nothing all day, read a bit, made ice coffee and booked myself a hairdresser appointment. Too hot to go out or do any housework! Basically the heat is licence to laze.

The only places I go when it's really hot are work and the supermarket. I feel like I've been living inside in the dark for months. It's kinda depressing.

It was 35 degrees where I am yesterday too. Had to get the bus to and from work and also went out with friends for a couple of hours. Have hardly slept. Am now downstairs with windows and doors open and watching the indoors temperature drop from 26 at 3 pm to under 24 which is very satisfying!

Yes, when all the panic has slowed down we will be looking at getting quotes for AC in the kitchen/family room, living room and at least two bedrooms.
Have talked about it before but will definitely be doing it this year.

We intend doing similar. I’ve never done well in summer but this horrendous year has broken me. Even having to quit my employed hours to go more freelance so I have the flexibility to take all of July off in future as according to my medical records that’s the worst time for me mentally and physically year on year. I need to be able to sack July off completely if necessary and head to stay somewhere cooler.

I do a voluntary job, my poor boss who is actual staff is 8 months pregnant about to go on mat leave. I feel so bad for her, no air con where we work. I’m going in an extra day because otherwise she will be lone working. There was a bit of scrapping over the portable air con unit we have at home last night.
