Has anyone else been banned from Amazon?

I live abroad and very often packages don’t get delivered (it’s the main gripe on the neighbourhood Whatsapp, with neighbours posting if anyone has their package)
Ive contacted Amazon each time and they’ve issued refunds-parcels never turned up.
I received an email last week saying that i’m not allowed to make purchases anymore as there has been over the maximum amount of refunds. and this matter has been dealt with, each time ive tried messaging, the same reply comes back.

It’s very frustrating as is not my fault

I’m just worried about Christmas as it’s difficult to find the toys here for my Dd

Has anyone ever had this?

You should have switched to a pick up box. Why should they continue to cover the loss?

Do they still let you watch prime video/ music etc?

I think so 🤔 it’s still on on the tv…I’ll see if they take the monthly payment again this month, guessing they will!

No retailer is obliged to sell to anyone, provided they are not discriminating on the basis of a protected characteristic like race or sexual orientation.

Where do you live that Amazon is your only option to buy toys? There are loads of online toy companies and there are loads of other companies that sell toys as well as other things. But that won't be a solution if your problem is with the courier/postal service. They're the people you should be dealing with, not Amazon who, in this case, are behaving as any business would.
Do you have a record of what hasn't been delivered and when? It would be a good start to open a conversation with them.

Ive tried many times to speak and explain things and given examples etc, they just end up sending the same, stock response

I ordered new phone and phone sleeve from Amazon. Both despatched the same day, in same box, however, when I opened it - only phone sleeve inside. They did investigate and found out that phone was never in the package (they weighting parcels), someone stole it while packaging parcels. Received refund.
Two weeks later I bought lots of gifts for Christmas and ordered 5 identical scarfs, but received only 3. It took me 2 months to get refund, I was called a liar and almost banned too.
I don't use Amazon again.

It’s shocking, luckily mine have only been relatively small, fairly cheap items not recieved

No I haven’t but I only once complained that something wasn’t delivered. Later I found it was delivered but placed in a weird hiding place. Normally their delivery people just leave the items by the front door if we’re out.

They are a business and if too many things have to be delivered twice or refunded, you’re no longer the sort of customer they want.

Even though they’re at fault? As in, check items are being delivered and investigate the delivery company etc

It happened to my cousin (UK). She'd sent loads of stuff back and also said stuff wasn't delivered and got refunds

Amazon cut her off but somehow she got reinstated. No idea how. She's way more careful now 🙄

Ooh could you find out how by any chance?

Whatmesurelynot · 29/07/2026 15:55

@Iceberglettuceisthecrunchiest why are you not planning on changing to a pick up point rather than your home address? You will just have the same issue again. 🤦

What's the response?

changedusernameforthis1 · 29/07/2026 16:53

Not Amazon, but I had similar with Uber eats. Constantly getting wrong deliveries, missing items, saying it arrived when it didn't etc.
Then I got an email saying I was banned.
Tried to appeal but they wouldn't have it, so I signed up with a new email address. Same bank card, same address, it went through fine.

I guess it can't hurt to try a new account with them. Worst they can do is say no.

Anyahyacinth · 29/07/2026 17:16

Yes some of the national newspapers carried articles about it, the unfairness etc.. Consumer Champions in The Guardian etc..

Apparently she sent begging and apologetic emails for 4 weeks 😳

Gazelda · 29/07/2026 17:30

OP, are there any pick up lockers near to you? In the closest town?

DefinitelyNotAFanOfSummer · 29/07/2026 17:45

They can be a funny company to deal with (& not in a laughing way). I had a drama of an experience in dealing with them.

I used to review quite regularly on their website - books, films, not major stuff but still over 400 reviews accepted over the years. One day about 18 months ago I was suddenly banned from leaving reviews & all my old reviews wiped.

I enquired why, only to be told nothing was wrong with the review I had submitted & it must have been an error. Reviewing privileges restored! Yay!

Only to be banned again immediately with the next review. Again, I enquired why & was told there was nothing wrong with the review & they couldn't tell me why I had been banned again, but it seemed because I had been banned twice in less than a week (wrongly both times), I couldn't have my reviewer status back. Point blank no. Banned for doing nothing wrong! 🤷🏻‍♀️

All pleas & evidence (emails confirming reviews were fine) ignored. I gave up in the end in case they banned me altogether.

LittlePetitePsychopath · 30/07/2026 07:21

I wouldn’t start a new account. Being banned for being unprofitable is one thing. Starting a new account after being banned is against the T&Cs and tends to lead to all “linked” accounts being banned, which according to Reddit, usually means any registered at the same house, and sometimes any that used to be registered at the same house, so parents etc too.

You’ll either have to appeal to them and see if you can get it shifted, but know that the next non-delivery or return might cause a permanent ban, or live without it I think. It doesn’t sound like it works especially well where you are.

TheGreatDownandOut · 30/07/2026 07:27

Do you not have a relative/friend/office address you could get parcels delivered to?

Do you not worry about such a poor delivery company / takeaway delivering your food?

I had friends who delivered takeaways while we were university students. I will NEVER have food delivered. The stories 😱. Some staff will spit on your food (and worse) because you live in a ‘nice’ area or because you don’t give a large enough tip or you complained about the food/delivery. The goings on shocked 20 year old nice men who wanted to earn a bit extra. And this wasn’t just one takeaway. As for the handwashing (lack of) in the kitchen - grim.

Op why on earth would you set this up again for delivery to your home. People have asked why you don’t get a locker delivery? Surely that is the best solution? If not it will look deliberate if they go missing again and Amazon look into it further. Resetting up an account to a secure location is one thing, to reset up an account to do what you were doing is madness.

My mum ordered a £1,000 MacBook from Amazon and when it turned up, it was just a box full of cola bottle sweets. She had to really fight to get her money back and she then immediately got banned from Amazon due to 'breaching their returns policy'. I also got banned, only reason I can think of is because we've had parcels delivered to the same addresses previously/same addresses associated with our accounts.

A relative of mine was banned. He ordered an expensive Lego set and in the box was dirty old Lego. He obviously complained and they refused to refund and then banned him.

That’s illegal somehow surely?! To not issue the refund at least

They said he was trying to scam them. And that they’d never have sent him dirty old Lego.

JulietteHasAGun · 30/07/2026 17:32

I had similar. I sent them back a £100 faulty electrical item. They said I sent them a different cheaper model. Refused a refund. Refused to engage with me. Customer services wouldn’t speak to me. I waged a massive twitter campaign and they eventually refunded. I was amazed I wasn’t banned to be honest but I do spend a fortune with them.

JulietteHasAGun · 30/07/2026 17:33

I’d never buy an expensive item from them now, especially not electronics. Lots of tales online of phones not being in the box when delivered etc
