You will win the undying respect and gratitude of the whole nation if you use your votes to kick Farage out and elect Count Binface as your local MP.

And I don't think you will regret it. Underneath the silliness, there is an intelligent man with a genuine commitment to democracy. He might be a joker, but I believe he would serve you well if elected. And definitely better than Farage.

Ormally · 10/07/2026 13:36

But the thing is, he IS the very establishment he claims to hate. He is funded by billionaires who want to make things even worse here for their own gain

I really hope someone can come up with a successful, home-grown, Clacton MP who would not be considered as 'establishment' as those who have been involved in the election races since - let's say - 2015? There are definitely a few who serve/d towns in the county and who are successful, but I can't think of one who was raised and educated for 16 years or longer in the immediate locality.

His image and his more wealthy support are both carefully managed. Several publications have alleged this to be true for many in pretty recent memory who have achieved the PM's office. Satire, unpredictability, and acting more in-touch have also not been absent as plus points to a persuasive public image.

HRTQueen · 10/07/2026 13:38

It was a rhetorical question one given what I have posted you would have picked up on, but not always picked up on when you can't hear a tone of voice

MrsBennetsPoorNervesAreBack · 10/07/2026 13:39

HRTQueen · 10/07/2026 12:48

If it is such a myth then how do you explain his popularity and that he more than anyone in recent history has influenced our politics

He is a very skillful manipulator and some people are sadly quite easily manipulated.

How much listening to his constituents has he been doing in the past 2 years?

I remember he was nowhere to be seen after this big fire in Jaywick, for example. You would expect an MP who even vaguely cared to rally around in some way on behalf of their constituents after such a devastating event.

Completely agree. Our Tory MP was around all night when the train shooting happened. That’s what an MP should do. Farage didn’t even entertain the idea.

Thanks but I do not need a lesson on Farage

MrsBennetsPoorNervesAreBack · 10/07/2026 10:24

I mean exactly what I said.

That it is a shame that we haven't seen more of Kemi's admirers on MN inspired to follow her lead in speaking out against Farage.

I am not talking about people just nodding along approvingly in response to anything that Kemi says. We see plenty of that.

I'm merely observing that, while Kemi herself has been strong and pithy in her critique of Farage, I have not seen many, if any, of her admirers on MN actively following that lead.

There may be posts that I haven't seen, of course. But for the most part, I find many of Kemi's fans curiously reluctant to criticise Farage, despite Kemi herself doing so quite effectively.

Plenty of us have. Across various MN threads. Interesting you think not though.

HRTQueen · 10/07/2026 13:16

Oh another lesson on Farage 🙄

Have you forgotten about Brexit. We would not have had Brexit without Farage what he has done has worked its a fact like it or not

I don't doubt his political career is over (I never have thought he wanted to be PM anyway)

What do you mean when you say that whatever he has done has worked, exactly?

Worked for his nefarious purposes/personal gain? Yes, absolutely.

Worked in terms of delivering better outcomes for the British people? Well, no, not at all.

I certainly haven't forgotten about the catastrophe that was Brexit, but it appears that Farage's defenders have?

If you ask a question, then people may answer it. If you intend your question to be rhetorical and don't want answers, then perhaps make that clear from the outset.

Farage's main goal in politics was for the UK to leave the EU

Without him it would not have happened

Surely you know enough about politics to know this

A lot of them are 'anyone but Labour' but there has been a switch to a more critical approach recently.

HRTQueen · 10/07/2026 13:51

I do have a deep interest in politics

I do not need to be part of an echo chamber (not everyone on here is) as I feel echo chambers should be challenged as they have been extremely damaging to politics

I have discussed politics enough with your Blossomtoes and I would be surprised if you do not agree with this view

Fair enough. I don't have a spreadsheet which tracks all of the supporters of Kemi to match them against those who criticise Farage. I don't doubt that there have been critical posts and I welcome that.

I guess I just haven't seen any criticism of Farage from posters who I perceive to be amongst the most vocal supporters of Kemi. But I'm not on every thread and of course I may have missed stuff.

You can't foresee what a Reform government will look like. I also find the scare tactics on that quite amusing. Hazard a guess maybe but not comment with a degree of certainty.

It'd be like a load of economically incompetent rats fighting in a sack. At best. Their ability to choose people suitable for office is iffy at best.

I am very pleased to see that Kemi Badenoch's popularity has increased, her politics are not inline with mine but I have at times been impressed by her. I welcome the Tory party regaining support

Of course I'm aware of his influence in that whole sorry saga.

I just don't understand what your point is. Nobody is denying his influence, are they?

He achieved his personal goal and benefitted from it personally. As did some of his mates. But I don't understand what that has to do with him listening to the British people?

He didn't deliver anything that ordinary people actually wanted or needed. He persuaded many to believe that leaving the EU would make their lives better and so they voted for it. It didn't, and of course, he knew it wouldn't, but he didn't care because that wasn't ever his agenda anyway.

I consider myself firmly to the right of centre. However, I am very much hoping Binface can pull this off, the corruption disgusts me. #votebinface

Especially because Farage can still be investigated after!

Am a floating voter, though have never voted Labour (to be fair Labour has always been a wasted vote in my area). I usually flip lop around the centre line depending on the issue.

Kemi is the only grown up in the room at the moment and the one politician I’d be happy to represent us on the world stage.

I’m Lib Dem, always have been and as long as my MP is here I will be. She’s been brilliant for our local area and represents so many local causes in a really brilliant way.

But like I said, if it’s to stop Farage, I will vote Tory if needed.
