Count Binface has a genuine chance against Nigel Farage!

Sounds crazy but…

None of the major parties are competing…

Farage won Clacton with 46% of the vote…

If the 54% united together to vote for Binface, we could have the most preposterous election outcome of all time!

I reckon this could get some genuine momentum… all the other parties would LOVE this result, and even if they didn’t actively campaign for it, would surely quietly be gunning for Binface to win.

My bloke fought for this country and he thinks it’s hilarious and wants Binface to win. 🤷‍♀️

Snap. My currently serving partner who's done more than his fair share of service abroad actually put a bet on Count Binface to win. He thinks CB is great.

Is a joke MP really what the country needs right now?

Well no but there is the option of joke 1 or 2.

I live in Clacton and it's an incredibly sad state of affairs I have to either vote for a racist misogynistic lying prick or a joke candidate. My town is falling apart, anti social behaviour is high, unemployment is through the roof, health and life expectancy is falling. Trying to sell and move but houses aren't selling. Reform can F.O.

Please vote for CBF 🙏🙏🙏

I certainly imagine that Harborne is disappointed that Farage has made himself look like a prize plum. Very poor return on investment.

Perhaps the next drama will be Harborne demanding his money back

I said yesterday, he must be fuming he paid £5m to have the next PM in his pocket, and now the next PM is someone who was a private citizen three weeks ago....

I'm sure people like that spread their bets!

He has also paid millions to Reform, which they are apparently using to argue with a bin.

Which is the very definition of cronyism.

Eh, I don't think it is. Cronyism requires an element of unfairness. You'd need to explain why it's unfair to appoint a person to an aide role based partially on a relationship with them and their demonstration of loyalty, when those things are such inherent parts of the job. It's not actually practicable for a role like that to go through an open application process available to the entirety of the public. As a pp pointed out to you, it isn't part of the civil service.

Warmlight1 · Today 19:39

Whatafustercluck · Today 18:46

Oh mine too. He was part of the liberation of Bergen Belsen, and knew all too well what men like Farage are capable of. He'd seen it first hand.

Yes we had such a person in our family. Would have been appalled at Farage's impact n the country.

I will have to, at this rate. But I don't agree that should be my only choices. Lots of people who disagree with Farage will abstain as a result, increasing his mandate which is fucked up.

It will prove a low turn out though which doesn't look good

I've moved on. It seems there are more Josh Simons supporters around that I through. It seems that the rules around the Ministerial code apply differently to different people. I do get that Labour voters appreciate that he got rid of Starmer for them.

Can you expand more on the ministerial code point?

You think there are rules against politicians appointing people they know and find useful to work for them?

noblegiraffe · Today 20:07

Oooh the fightback against Binface has begun on twitter. They have found out that he is an 'Oxford Elite' who has always hated Farage.

"He’s an establishment luvvie sent to try to undermine the aspirations of people who vote for right wing candidates or parties." Is a direct quote.

Yeah, that's why he stood against Burnham on the platform that elected Mayors should be required to finish their terms before standing for parliament.

The desperation is quite funny though.

IonianNerveGrip · Today 20:10

Yes that was quite the dig at Burnham and Labour wasn't it!

Warmlight1 · Today 18:48

The relevance is any constituency would be lucky to get her.

I disagree. I respect her politics, but we don't need (another) a celebrity MP making a point for their own financial gain and media personality point scoring. And it's irrelevant as she's not standing in Clacton-on-Sea.

BIossomtoes · Today 20:11

When it comes to social media skill my money’s on Binface.

Labour minister Josh Simons resigns after falsely linking journalists to ‘pro-Kremlin’ network | Labour | The Guardian

"there was a “distraction and potential reputational damage” in Simons remaining in the government." with the slightly ironic "The Makerfield MP had faced mounting pressure over his role in Labour Together’s commissioning of the lobbying and public affairs agency APCO to investigate journalists reporting on the thinktank’s failure to disclose political donations."

The Guardian don't normally ask that many questions of Labour...

So we’ve now moved to him being under pressure to quit, which is some distance from the earlier comments about him accepting bribes. He still didn’t trouser £5 million in dodgy crypto though.

I didn’t say they’d be effective in Clacton, I said they’d be better than Farage’s. Remember 54% of voters didn’t vote for him in 2024.

Probably be better than Farage. Or is he the joke you meant?

Danhausenrocks · Today 20:26

The interesting angle now is that Farage now has to actively campaign on the premise of “this is what I promise to do for clacton” while also answering the obvious question “why haven’t you been doing it”
