Count Binface has a genuine chance against Nigel Farage!

Sounds crazy but…

None of the major parties are competing…

Farage won Clacton with 46% of the vote…

If the 54% united together to vote for Binface, we could have the most preposterous election outcome of all time!

I reckon this could get some genuine momentum… all the other parties would LOVE this result, and even if they didn’t actively campaign for it, would surely quietly be gunning for Binface to win.

Me vote Reform ? Absolutely I would if there was a GE right now . Because I want the end of a two party race.

There are so many arrogant MPs who I’d love to see have the smiles wiped off their faces if this happened!

I also know that Reform won’t be able to do half the things that say they can aswell but I’d still like a shake up of politics!

Hmm, this is extremely similar to the logic my friend employed when deciding to vote for Brexit. To prove a point and stick a finger up to the government whilst not believing it would actually happen. She's now regretting her choice as she travels a lot. Be careful what you wish for.

Justveryveryangry · Yesterday 14:23

Who else other than Count Binface could garner votes from Restore and Green supporters alike. That’s why I think Farage has made a fatal error here that he’ll forever regret…

Tell me exactly what employment right will go though ? I

Reform is planning to repeal the Equality Act. Everyone’s rights would disappear overnight. You might be willing to vote yours away, you’re not having mine, my kids’ or my grandchildren’s.

Paul2023 · Yesterday 14:24

I know it’s off topic but can someone answer me what Josh Simons got in return for stepping down to make way for a by election?
Im genuinely interested why an MP of just two years would just walk away without getting anything in return ?
I really would like to know ..

Please tell me I'm misunderstanding this. Genuinely.

You would vote Reform, and not worry about their policies because you don't think they can deliver on them?

Vote Reform for more Doctor's strikes!

We have a joke prime minister and another one in waiting. How bad do you want it to be?

Firm disagree. We have a PM who was democratically elected and won with an outstanding majority. He is an intelligent and capable politician, as is his likely successor.

'Disruptors'. Or a shitshow for everyone else.

The ones in here: www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2010/15/contents

That Reform have promised to repeal on day one. Repeal, not amend.

You'll want to look at part 5.

concertinacornflake · Yesterday 14:27

Paul2023 · Yesterday 14:19

I’ve been on strikes and worked to rule.

Yes, because you currently have legal rights to strike.

You must be kidding us, you can't really not understand there can be a difference between the past, the present and the future Grin

Danhausenrocks · Yesterday 14:28

Me vote Reform ? Absolutely I would if there was a GE right now . Because I want the end of a two party race.

Seriously @Paul2023 you can't be that naive?

Is there an issue with the 2 party race? Yes. No doubt. So why not vote Lib Dem, who are a professional party, with years of experience, and listen to people? Quite frankly, I like the way Ed Davey constantly calls out Trump.

Instead, you're fucking everyone over.

He wants to repeal the Equality Act instantly. No waiting until new legislation is ready to replace it - just gone. Day one. The protections we had before 2010 no longer exist, as they were covered by the Equality Act.

This means your right to sick pay.
Your right to maternity leave/adoption leave.
The right not to lose your job because you're gay/your religion.
It means wheelchair bound people would no longer have mandated access to ramps, nor would blind people have mandated access to braille documents.

Genuinely, how the hell can you justify this in your mind? Because that is genuinely what you're voting for.

Reform in Suffolk has removed funding for translation services, saying "those immigrants should learn English". The fucking idiots didn't realise that the bulk of that money was spent on braille translations and Ukrainian translations for those who came over fleeing the war.

SadiraOfTyr · Yesterday 14:30

Paul2023 · Yesterday 12:48

But lest be honest Farage will still win a two way race.
If they really wanted to hurt Farage Bin Face would stand down so Farage has no one to fight against ?

Surely that would be more beneficial to Farages critics?

Who are 'they' and how do you propose 'they' control what Binface, an unaffiliated independent candidate, does?

5128gap · Yesterday 14:31

Paul2023 · Yesterday 13:53

What rights would they take away from me though ?

Even so wouldn’t everyone be in the same position, and they’d have to put it past the trade unions . Which they won’t allow.

If everyone went on strike Reform wouldn’t be able to do it.

Are you old enough to remember what Thatcher did to the unions? Do you think a Refirm government wouldn't hesitate to completely finish the job?

To be honest I would want them to. These days unions are just protection rackets.

Thedogscollar · Yesterday 14:34

Dear God just when I thought this can't get any more nonsensical I've heard Laurence Fox is now going to stand in the by-election.
My money is on Count Binface, by far the most credible out of that trio.

QuantumQuibbler · Yesterday 14:34

@Paul2023 the existence of an opposition, of any kind

  • gives the media a lot more to get their teeth into.
  • gives the voter an option beyond spoiling a ballot or not voting.
  • gives the people of Clacton the chance to actually not have Farage as their MP any more,

You don't have to join a union.

I haven't. I hate them. If Reform put in their policy to get rid of them (which I don't think they have) I'd switch to vote for them over the Tories.

At last, the Count's moment has come! If I lived in Clacton I'd vote for him

Me too!

And if I lived nearer, I'd offer to go and help in his campaign. Farage is such a nasty piece of work, I'd love to see this stunt backfire on him.

Yes she broke the stranglehold that the unions had over the working people.
Thats what she did 😄

Toohotforwork · Yesterday 14:33

I was responding to PPs belief that the unions would protect workers from a government funded to facilitate the rich to get richer, off the back of workers, and therefore by default, hostile to workers rights.

@Toohotforwork I think this needs repeating from my earlier post.

Because you don't like unions, you would vote for the following?

He wants to repeal the Equality Act instantly. No waiting until new legislation is ready to replace it - just gone. Day one. The protections we had before 2010 no longer exist, as they were covered by the Equality Act.

It's not "i don't like unions" so i voted for but I didn't like the other stuff - a vote for policy is a vote for all policies.

CaptainMyCaptain · Yesterday 14:55

IonianNerveGrip · Yesterday 13:39

Yes, she's got her tactics just right on this one. And it matters more than Labour not standing, since the Tories were 2nd last time.

I've never voted Tory in my life but I would have preferred them to win rather than Reform.

5128gap · Yesterday 14:58

Dollymylove · Yesterday 14:50

Yes she broke the stranglehold that the unions had over the working people.
Thats what she did 😄

I was responding to PP who believes the unions would protect him from the erosion of workers rights by a right wing government.
I've no interest in discussing Thatcher with someone who uses a laughing emoji to gloat over what was an incredibly difficult time in my community, from which it's never recovered.

Surely Fox would just split Farage's vote if anything. I csnt see anyine with any sense voting for him. Thats fine by me but what's in it for him?
