I think Reporting to the police is just daft. He will be mortified when he wakes up. He was probably drunk after watching the football. Do you really want to go that far. I think you will lose your friend and embarrass the kids. As they will find out somehow.
I would just message him back saying how disgusting he is and Never to do it again. I think friend will also turn on you if you make such a bug deal of it.
Yes its gross that men do this. Totally out of order. But think about the aftermath.

Ugh. The bar for men is so low it's a tavern in Hades.

hourspassed · 24/06/2026 14:07

OP I totally support what you are saying - am also horrified by some of these responses.

Don't report a disgusting criminal act because he was probably drunk and it will cause a big fuss? Bloody hell - have we learnt nothing?

Pistachiocake · 24/06/2026 13:57

If you've answered this elsewhere sorry, but is there a chance he sent it you by mistake?
Like in his phone Kate's friend is right next to Kate? And even so, he needs to be told to be more careful.

Jesus Christ. Presumably old school public flashers should just be told to take care when fastening their clothing so that their dick doesnt accidently slip out?

justasking111 · 24/06/2026 14:13

Why do men think a picture of their private parts is alluring. Truly curious?

I have no idea. They are like a huge worm.

Ladybyrd · 24/06/2026 14:15

What a dickhead. Tell her.

MickyMoonshine · 24/06/2026 14:20

You 100% did the right thing.
I’m genuinely shocked at those excusing his behaviour. What else should we be excusing due to alcohol?

"he's never been flirty with me".

How is that an update? It's an existing piece of information. Do you understand the term "existing"? As in, info which was already in existence, not something which later transpired.

Gosh, you live up to your username.

What a very silly post. The OP gave an UPDATE that she'd told her friend. Which was what the post you were responding to was about.

It isn't a drip feed. You then claimed to do so was lazy. You clearly don't understand what 'drip feed' means and now you're backtracking. And insulting and calling people names because you don't understand basics.

Oh, and what you're posting here isn't a "drip feed either" it's just information. Not "extra information it would've been useful to know in the first place." Grow up. You still don't understand what the term means, go and look it up, ffs.

She has already. She updated later in the thread.

It’s nothing to do with football although some men may use that as an excuse. It’s about entitlement and lack of emotional maturity and regulation.

I’m a football fan and I have two sons who are football fans and they would never, ever do this. I know lots of non sporting fans who would be abusive to their wives and would use other excuses: I’m depressed, stressed at work, need validation for lack of confidence, haven’t had many relationships, she made me do it, she doesn’t earn enough, she earns too much. It’s all bullshit and we should stop blaming external factors. It’s a him issue for which he should be accountable.

I know. The post I replied to said he’d probably had a few beers watching football.

TheIdlerReturns · 24/06/2026 14:29

God yes, if she's any friend.

Jennalong · 24/06/2026 14:30

I've never received or sent any explicit pic to anyone including my dh and would be horrified if even he sent one . Tbh what's the point of them ? Surely they don't send anyone into a sexual frenzy or something like that .
However I think you did the right thing telling your friend . Ok he has apologised and blames being drunk , but that does not exonerate people from doing stuff .
You simply cannot use that as an excuse . End of . He deserves his wife to leave him .

Out of sheer curiosity, if i had said in my OP he had/hadn't ever been flirty would that then have made it ok/not ok to send the pic? Would it make it ok to tell/not tell my friend?

You actually said football has a lot to answer for.

Look I’m not being argumentative for the sake of it. It’s an important principle. It’s not football that has a lot to answer for. It’s harrassing, entitled, sexually incontinent men that have a lot to answer for. Not the sport of football. Not the millions of sports fans - men and women - that wouldn’t dream of doing this.

The reason it’s important is we should be holding accountable the people who are committing these offences. It’s not a football problem it’s a them problem.

iamnotalemon · 24/06/2026 14:48

I’d be telling him I’d be reporting him to the police (it’s considered a crime in the UK) and then telling her.

theemmadilemma · 24/06/2026 14:48

I've only read OP's comments, but is this for real? Are there actually women on this site excusing the behaviour of this married man?

What fucking 18th century hole have I fallen into?

Did you want OP to list every interaction she'd had with him as existing information?
Personal comments about usernames are a bit low.

GoodbyeZebedee · 24/06/2026 14:50

Well done for handling a hideous situation so well OP. Your poor friend, I am sure she will be grateful for your approach. I would take the lead from your friend on reporting to the police, but I hope her husband is aware of the fact it is a crime and reportable. What a piece of shit he is.

Anyusernamewilldo8963 · 24/06/2026 14:52

@theemmadilemma unfortunately there have been some that have completely minimised what he has done

Do you have a partner OP? But in answer to your question, I don't think it matters if he's been flirty with you or not, it's a gross thing to do to you and your friend. How can it be OK?

Anyusernamewilldo8963 · 24/06/2026 14:54

@GoodbyeZebedee thank you, thats the current plan. She has made it clear to him its a criminal offence and has told me if I decide to report him she will back me but when I asked her what she wanted me to do in regards the police she has asked me to do nothing (at the moment)

I don't have a partner no. I was specifically asking if I mattered if I/he was flirty to the PP LondonLass as she seems to think me not adding this info to my OP means I'm dripfeeding (despite this not being the post she screamed dripfeeding about and is now clearly attempting to backtrack and instead is digging a bigger hole) as you're quite correct, it doesn't matter

I can’t actually believe some of the comments on here…..especially the ones calling OP a drama queen etc. This man has deliberately taken a picture of his dick and sent it to his partners best friend, with a message saying he wants her…. Not only is it sleazy, it shows a total lack of respect for his partner, and for OP. Not exactly champagne and flowers is it…..
And if he’s old enough to be able to take such a disgusting picture, he’s old enough to accept the consequences. I hope your friend ditches him, and you go to the police and report the dirty bastard….

Me too. I've never sent a picture of my dick to anyone. I wouldn't send an unsolicited one ever and I've done some pretty stupid things after a drink too many.

I am stunned that women seem to think this in a innocent "oh he was drunk" type of thing....that's falling over the doorstep...this is sexual abuse

Differentforgirls · 24/06/2026 15:17

Have any of the excusers on this thread inadvertantly sent a picture of their bare fanny to a partner of one of their friends when they have a drink in them?
