AIBU to be loving this warm weather?

Am I the only one who is loving this weather?!

OP posts:
Fallbuy · 22/06/2026 13:31

It’s fine in the range 20-25. Upwards of 25 starts getting a bit daft. 30 plus is no good to man nor beast.

Sanch1 · 22/06/2026 13:33

It’s not warm it’s roasting hot!

Perfectly fine to be enjoying it but I imagine you must just be able to lie by a pool
chilling or something? Because carrying out normal
everyday things in this heat is not pleasant.

MyDuvetDay · 22/06/2026 13:33

I’m with you OP. I’ve been waiting all year for this kind of weather!

My family and dog, however, disagree

500mileslong · 22/06/2026 13:35

Yes

WaltzingWaters · 22/06/2026 13:35

I absolutely LOVE it! It’s nice to see a thread enjoying the heatwave rather than complaining about it.

Elbowpatch · 22/06/2026 13:36

I’m enjoying it. Perfect for me. Not too warm.

mondaytosunday · 22/06/2026 13:41

Well where are you? It’s a lovely 23 with a sea breeze where my son lives on the IOW. It’s a mild 21 for my DD in Durham. It’s a sweltering 29 here in London and getting hotter.

ginasevern · 22/06/2026 13:45

You aren't alone OP. I'm bloody loving it. It'll all be over in a week if that, and then it's probably back to grey, cold, rain and coats for god knows how long. I actually had the heating on in the evening during the first bit of June ffs.

Livpool · 22/06/2026 13:46

I agree - it’s lovely!

Empress13 · 22/06/2026 13:47

Ok if you’re lying on a sunbed near the sea on your sunbed but working in a hot office no thanks

SomeGarlic · 22/06/2026 13:48

I would FAR rather be hot than cold! Hardly anything makes me cry, but being cold does.

I prefer fans to AC, as well. I've got four of 'em on the go, with windows slightly open - I'm loving the summery breeze in my flat. Just bought some cooling patches, as recommended by a Mumsnetter who uses them for migraines, and feel pretty smug atm 😎

People underestimate the value of a water spray - or a moisturising spray, if you prefer something pre-packaged with hyaluronic acid and a scent.

dannyufcfan · 22/06/2026 13:50

I don't mind it, at all. I refuse to whinge about.

The reason? It'll last 5 days max then go back to being shit again.

Thepeopleversuswork · 22/06/2026 13:51

I agree with you OP, I love heat. Even crazy 30+ heat is better than rain or the general overcast skies we get. I know it's not great that we're getting it too much and my OH hates it because he's pale and comes from somewhere where it rains most of the year but I love it. What can I say. I love the feel of the sun.

SleeplessInWherever · 22/06/2026 13:53

Yep, I’m also a fan.

I’m like a lizard, absolutely love the sun. I just think it makes everything better.

Tea in the garden after work, washing drying in double time, son happily splashing about in a paddling pool, tan topped up.

It’s like being on holiday (other than work 😂), but in my own house.

Stepmum900 · 22/06/2026 13:54

I’m in the West Midlands where it’s hot and I’m loving it! I’m cold all year round so this is perfect. I feel relaxed, warm and can get my arms out. They never see the light of day. I had my long sleeve thermal top on until last week

idrinkandiknowthings · 22/06/2026 13:54

It's a nope to the sun from me. I'm not a misery, I'm not wanting rain every day, but it's predicted to be 34+ where I am on Thursday and I'm just dreading coming in the office.

I wholly understand why a lot of people love it though.

Pieceofpurplesky · 22/06/2026 13:56

It's great if you don't have to work. I am not in work due to long term illness at the moment but I feel for my colleagues in a non air conditioned, mainly glass school with a thousand kids moaning about the heat and no learning going on because they are too hot!

igelkott2026 · 22/06/2026 13:56

There are two things that I get really judgey about.

One is smoking.

The second one is topping up tans. Are people completely stupid? No doubt you'll be whining if you can't get the NHS to sort out skin cancer in a few years' time.

And yes there's a massive difference between a very pleasant 21 degree and a horrible 30 plus degrees.

givemushypeasachance · 22/06/2026 13:56

Being out and about if it's sunny and breezy but warm and you can chill with a cold drink somewhere, nice. Doing day to day activities in 39 degree heat with high humidity, wtf? When your house is 30+ degrees inside, trying to sleep in that is surely not very pleasant? It's forecast to be 26 degrees at midnight here later this week, that's not necessary and it'll be sweltering after the house has cooked in the heatwave all day.

igelkott2026 · 22/06/2026 13:57

Also, if it's cold you can put more clothes on.

If it's too hot you are somewhat restricted in what you can (reasonably) do.

Sartre · 22/06/2026 13:58

It’s ok here in Yorkshire today but for the next 3 days it’s topping 30 and that’s when it just gets a bit silly. It’s weird because I can deal very well with it abroad including on city breaks where I’ve put in 30k steps a day in 35 degree heat but here I just melt and fall to pieces.

NimbleHiker · 22/06/2026 13:59

I am in yorkshire and i absolutely hate this heat. I don't.mind a nice 22 degrees but anything above 25 degrees is far too hot. It doesn't help that we seem to go from one extreme to the other. I was wearing another layer a couple of weeks ago as it felt like autumn. Now i feel like i have moved to the tropics.

FluffMagnet · 22/06/2026 14:01

Surely it all just depends on your body type? I am pale and only ever burn (never tan!) and feel like I have a fever when it is hot, so for me it is a truly vile experience. My dad, however, is seemingly solar powered and loves being outside doing DIY when it is hot (although even he is baulking at 40°C). On the other hand, I thrive in the cold. I do have lota of sympathy with my colleague with reynalds each winter, as I know she suffers in the cold like I do in heat.

ByLemonLeader · 22/06/2026 14:02

I love it when I have nothing to do. Getting things done in it is terrible.

SheWillBeTheDeathOfMe · 22/06/2026 14:05

I love it, but I wfh, have a garden and can go and get in the sea as soon as I finish work.
