Am I the only one who is loving this weather?!

OP posts:
AmethystDeceiver · 23/06/2026 11:47

Im guiltily loving it... It's scary cuz of climate change and how fucked we all are, but I live in a stone cottage in the mountains with a waterfall 2 min walk from my garden and stunning beaches 20 min drive. My front room is essentially a cave, and I'm working from home all week with very little to do but admin and CPD. And I'm brown 😂 so yeah, I'm essentially living my best life ATM, albeit in a guilty 'this is bad really' fashion!!

It’s fine in the range 20-25. Upwards of 25 starts getting a bit daft. 30 plus is no good to man nor beast.

This. Currently in the shade in my garden, where it's allegedly cloudy according to LBC's newsreader. It's 26* with NO wind - Northumberland.

Growlybear83 · 23/06/2026 11:51

I'm with you OP, I love this weather. We've paid thousands over the years to go to places like Egypt in the middle of summer with temperatures far higher than this, so I'm treating each day that the weather is like this as a bonus.

Netcurtainnelly · 23/06/2026 12:08

Like it too. Cheaper on the bills. Washing dry in a jiffy outside. Less clothes needed.

GimmieABreakOr3 · 23/06/2026 12:09

If I were by the pool or sea, it’d be fine… but alas I’m on Microsoft teams in a dark room as I’ve needed to close the blinds!!

hereforthelolz · 23/06/2026 12:19

I’m totally here for it! Love hot weather!

MrsMillyFluff · 23/06/2026 12:21

I have a physical job . Been to work today and nearly fainted with the heat, so, if I could just sit in the sun downing piña coladas I presume I would love it 🥵

Lexy2345 · 23/06/2026 12:23

I’m retired, I live by the sea and I love the heatwave.
If I was working rather than relaxing under a parasol on the beach, I’d probably feel very different.

MonsterasEverywhere · 23/06/2026 12:23

This level of heat and humidity is not something I enjoy. It's currently 32°C and humidity is at 52%. It's also something very worrying for nature and I've noticed trees are already shedding leaves due to heat stress.

One thing I do urge everyone to do if they have outdoor space is to put out a shallow bowl of water for any wildlife that needs hydrating in this warm weather.

jessycake · 23/06/2026 12:23

Thank your genes and enjoy

Ilovemyshed · 23/06/2026 12:26

Its horrid, can’t get anything done.

Stars26 · 23/06/2026 12:29

I love warm weather and sunshine…. temps of 31 and above it’s not pleasant when carrying out daily stuff. It’s a red weather warning: not just ‘warm’

Not all of us jet out in feb for sun 🙄Plus holidays are very different than wearing your work clothes and sitting on buses with the heating still on cos someone didn’t turn it off and the driver can’t.

You can talk about other countries all you want but these people live and grow up with that kind of regular temp. The infrastructure is mostly better equipped. We get silly bouts of extreme temperatures that go from 18 deg last week to 36/8 this week. That we are not used to!! Trains can’t run or are already on reduced timetables just in case they can’t. Schools are old buildings. The hospital i work in rarely has aircon which is lovely in uniform and full shoes/socks or tights. We see more patients cos their bodies can’t cope that’s not hysteria it’s real world data.

scalt · 23/06/2026 12:54

Last night at 9pm, I umpired netball outdoors: and it was raining (Hertfordshire). On a warm evening, it was wonderful! The teenage players seemed to enjoy it, even though they grumbled about the ball slipping out of their hands sometimes. I felt a bit sorry for the scorers who were huddled under an umbrella, though, but it was a relief that something wasn’t cancelled for adverse weather. (Although, there was a thunderstorm later in the night; it would have been cancelled for that.)

ChocolateBiscuitsandaCuppa · 23/06/2026 13:07

Also love this temperature (and am in the south). Finally feel warm all the way to my bones. However will add am not in an office or on the wards where I usually am, and feel for my poor colleagues as know how unpleasant the wards are when it's even remotely hot. Think I'd feel very differently if I was at work this week.

IAmBeaIDrinkTea · 23/06/2026 13:11

If it was a dry heat, it'd be great.
It's SO humid and heavy air wise though, you're soaked through within about 5 minutes.
Unbearable and makes me feel sluggish and tired too.
So YABU

ToffeePennie · 23/06/2026 08:50

It’s lush.
The only time a year I actually feel properly warm is in a heatwave. Otherwise I’m cold, I often can’t feel my toes (yes even in 18-19 temps) and my fingers feel numb. But in this weather, I can actually properly feel warm for a week or so, but I am aware that from next week it’s back to jumpers and shivering constantly. I hate all the talk of air con, I end up freezing, literally ice cold under an air con. It is too cold.
I burn badly (Irish skin) in the sunshine, but I slap on the factor 50+ and just do my best, the rest of the year everyone else is comfortable, I only get 1 or 2 weeks a year, and I thoroughly enjoy them!

Yup! It's all very well people saying you can layer up with clothes but when working it is not possible to wear mittens, and fingerless gloves still leave my hands cold and stiff. People think you are nuts wearing a coat and hat etc in the office and you can't cover your nose.

I'm loving the heat. It is 25 degrees here at the moment. I am lucky to work from home and will just enjoy it for this few days where I can be toasty warm. Lunch and dinner can be eaten outside and I will enjoy reading my book in the garden.if it went on for weeks I might get sick of it eventually. As I do with the cold and grey.

SadiraOfTyr · 23/06/2026 13:36

I remember 25 or so years ago we were on a driving holiday in south-central France and were astounded at the temps on the pharmacy signs - I took a photograph of one reading 35C.

I never thought for a moment we would see regular 30+ temps at home. And here we are with two days where it is going to hit 39 this week. 30C is no longer even worth mentioning - we had that in April this year!

PfizerFan · 23/06/2026 13:37

I'd enjoy it if I could sit in the garden with a glass of wine. I am not enjoying working in it!

Anothernameretired · 23/06/2026 13:40

I am pleased that some people do enjoy this heat - and flipping envious of anyone with access to the sea!
It's 34 degrees here at the moment and a red warning for tomorrow. This is too hot for me - and lots of schools are closing for anyone who wants to have a moan about how that wouldn't happen in their day.

SadiraOfTyr · 23/06/2026 13:44

I'm loving all the people posting about how they love the heat and it's 25c where they are and they have access to the sea.

25c is not hot. It's pleasantly warm. The temperatures that people are worried about are the high 30s with 90% humidity. Which is what we have for the next few days.

Larrythecatforpm · 23/06/2026 13:45

No, there’s something mentally wrong with you to enjoy baking to death.

Purplecatshopaholic · 23/06/2026 13:47

I love the heat generally. It helps my lung condition no end too. I do agree working in it is less fun than relaxing though! I keep my home office as cool as possible and sit in the garden most of the rest of the time.

dontforgetme · 23/06/2026 13:48

West Mids and I am fucking boiling. Sweat dripping from my hair down my face, down my back and don’t get me started on my fucking boobs. This isn’t enjoyable heat with work, school run, no air con, no fucking air !!

Elbowpatch · 23/06/2026 13:49

I would agree, but not all of us “bake” in this weather. Let alone bake to death.

People have varying tolerances to temperature. Hot or cold.

SeasideDaisy · 23/06/2026 13:53

I love love love this weather.
