What are your neighbours doing to annoy you this summer?

For the past two evenings, just as it's finally cooled down enough to open the windows, one neighbour has fired up a BBQ and another has lit a log fire.

I know people are entitled to enjoy their gardens, but the timing feels almost impressively irritating.

Anyway, rather than sitting here seething internally while my house slowly fills with eau de smoked sausage and bonfire, please tell me about your neighbours' most gloriously twattish habits.

The more petty and irrationally annoying, the better.

Help me feel less alone 😂

My neighbour is lovely but her son, while a nice young man generally, plays a lot of online games and shouts at his computer at all hours. His bedroom is right next to ours so we hear him at night and his window is always wide open so we can hear him in the garden also. It's not a really big problem and we usually just ignore it but when she came over for a drink in the garden last summer she was surprised we had never mentioned it.

Shitting all over my garden.

Bloody neighbour cats.

Put chilli powder down and some large lollipop sticks in between, so they can't shit in your plant beds. Sometimes it's foxes instead.

It’s the hottest day so far and neighbours on both sides of my tiny house are using machines/ spades/ lawnmowers since 11am. I’ve got only a couple of windows open and have the wrist headache already.
These are the home owners, not workers. I bet they got the day off work because of the weather and have decided to take out their tools and do some work at home instead. At lunch time. It’s mad.
One of them has two young children but of course they’ve been shipped to the granny with a paddling pool, while I have to bring my dc after school now and have them either listen to the noise or suffocate with all windows closed.

One Easter Sunday a new neighbour started his home improvements..which involved dropping bricks from an upstairs window into a skip. The third brick i PA slammed the bedroom window shut. It was 8am...
He re started the work next day instead. And at a more civilised time.
We always got on after that!

I have to assess my own behavior when I read this and complain.

I won't make noise at certain hours, in the garden especially so would say I'm very considerate.

But I play an instrument and have a pressure hose that I enjoyed blasting this week. I chose the busiest hour so not to ruin peoples day.

In my youth I would have been the neighbor from hell with partying and did receive warning letters I recall when 20

I'm getting my karma now I am older and seek peace and solitude 🙋‍♂️😆

The biggest stress for me has been cat shit.

It has not happened for a while. An old neighbor has feral ones that crapped at least twice a day.

I could not stop it and tried all sorts. It made me dislike cats and I am an animal lover usually.

Yeah that's not ok. I'm forever assessing my timings and can't understand why other people aren't like this.

It's as if they don't see people outside their own existence.

Our neighbours are 3 very sweet Highland Cattle, they moo a lot, but like ear scritches. Our old neighbours were awful, loud music, regular jet washing, he once jet washed an apple tree at 6am! So glad Our nearest human neighbours are a mile away
