Ashley Cain comments about women

Hardliner · 17/06/2026 10:11

He's not particularly on my radar, but I just read this and felt floored all over again about how some men feel about women.

I know the comments were years ago, but this kind of vile misogyny doesn't exist in a vacuum.

What a crappy start to the day.

BBC presenter Ashley Cain called women ‘slags’, ‘sluts’ and ‘bitches’

Exclusive: Cain has been lauded by corporation for his appeal to young men despite history of abusive and misogynistic remarks

BBC putting themselves in a very iffy position here, they have sacked and cancelled contracts for way way less- if I was one of those people I would be looking at legal advice again unless he too is sacked or contract cancelled

TooBigForMyBoots · 18/06/2026 10:34

I hope they bin his new series. Maybe losing money will make the BBC sit up and wise up.

Whowhatwhere21 · 18/06/2026 10:47

He's an awful person. As many have said, he exploited his dying daughter, set up a go fund me to pay for treatment for her, when she passed away it was never clear where the money went but he suddenly became debt free and was driving round in fancy cars. Then came the fancy house purchase and more fancy cars...
He was always talking on social media how he had the support of the town, yet barley anyone around here likes him let alone supports him or his 'charity'. Once questions started being asked about the go fund me money and charity spending, his support locally dwindled and the little displays he was putting on around the town for social media pics and videos suddenly stopped. Likely because no one locally would show up for him anymore.

Anarchy99 · 18/06/2026 10:50

Apparently he can say what he wants because his daughter died… 🙄

The fact that it’s the only reason he gets any airtime is disgusting

forgivingfiggy · 18/06/2026 10:50

These men all have a look, don’t they. I guess it works to our advantage.

His tattle threads make interesting reading. They have receipts.

Came on here also to say that Tattle had his card marked years ago.

RonaldMcDonaldTrump · 18/06/2026 11:14

JHound · 18/06/2026 09:42

I think it’s the whole aesthetic.

All the men I see who embrace that kind of look are almost always raging misogynists.

I also find it disturbing when misogynists always find a group of women will to date them / have their kids.

He hasn't kept the beard for aesthetic reasons, his baby daughter used to pull on it and so he's refusing to cut it to honour her and because it makes him feel closer to her.
I would imagine there will be a point that he needs to cut it as it's out of control

This is the man who posted his terminally unwell child on social media. His behaviour on ex on the beach was deplorable

Came to say this!!! He was totally vile on ex on the beach for everyone to see. This can’t be a surprise to the BBC

Greenqueen40 · 18/06/2026 11:46

Tattle outed this creep years ago. Let's hope this is the start of an investigation into the money donated to their foundation!

I do think this points to a broader issue though - why is it so many of the male voices seen as “appealing to young men” - from the extreme, (Tate, Cain) to the less extreme (Peterson,
Williamson, Galloway) all seem to lean into misogyny to varying degrees.
Is it a bug or a feature?

Surely there are men who appeal to young men who aren’t misogynistic in any sense.

Yes, but in order to set yourself up as "a voice for young men" (and make money out of it) you are more likely than others to have a particular personality/outlook. It's one thing young men growing up finding role models in the older men around them. It's another thing making "role model for young men" your personal career choice. Lots of influencers/public figures AREN'T grifters. But it is a profession which by it's nature attracts grifters.
And misogyny pays well for grifters because it lets you set up a them and us narrative, let's young men feel rebellious (which young men like generally) and also means you draw to you the men most likely to spend lots of cash - the lonely, socially awkward, looking for a reason tlfor why they are struggling (or someone to blame). It also means you can alpha male signal with lots of money, women, muscles etc while signalling to men that you are on their side.

In the same way that dating apps don't want people to find true love and stop using the apps, so anyone who makes money from male loneliness/inadequacy doesn't want all their -marks- supporters to find happiness and stop watching/consuming.

Crikeyalmighty · 18/06/2026 18:08

Why do you get so many younger trendy clearly ambitious people who are happy to grift gravitating to these extreme and usually right wing and often mysoginistic angles - because its a simple case of ‘follow the money’ - and the money is nearly all in extremism and usually to the right wing angle, as it’s usually US and Russian cash ! Who is out there funding more centreist or even slightly more left wing views? Very few funders in that market!! You only had to see the situation with the demise of Orban - turns out it seems a lot of Tufton st funding coming from that direction, filtered from Russia

OonaStubbs · 18/06/2026 18:12

Why don't the BBC ever learn? Do they think they are invulnerable?

JazzyAmbs · 18/06/2026 18:13

He looks like a sexist pig, oh what a surprise he is….

I always recall he left/split up with the mum very quickly after the daughter died. I know this can be common after trauma but he just looks like an asshole.

Anarchy99 · 18/06/2026 21:45

The only thing I knew about him was that his child died. He and his partner were everywhere for months

MovedlikeHarlowinMonteCarlo · 17/06/2026 18:26

He's an awful man. His behaviour on Ex on the Beach was disgusting, his behaviour towards his dying daughter was disgusting, he made money from his "charity" and he's just an all round prick of a man.

In other words the BBC's favourite kind of man, they.do love a male abuser don't they
Makes me pleased all over again that i don't pay the licence fee or watch t. v.

OonaStubbs · 18/06/2026 18:12

Show the BBC a man who hates women and they will shower him with praise and licence fee payers'money.

SoonToBePinocchiosExWife · 18/06/2026 09:54

Yes I completely agree. My ex really played up his feminist credentials until we were married and I was pregnant. At that point he did an abrupt about turn. Even had the gall to ask me to "make me a sandwich" way way before I'd even heard of the turd that is AT. I thought he was just being rude 🤦🏽
The beard makes me want to heave every time I see him now.

It’s not the bait and switchers so much. It’s the obvious misogynists who still find women to date them and have their kids which is a baffling situation to me.

You really believe that’s true?

TooBigForMyBoots · Yesterday 01:00

Ashley Cain's way of honoring his dead daughter is growing a beard?🤯

Grifting off the empathy of bereaved families and generous donations meant to help other children and parents? Not respecting women and girls? Not respecting his own children, living and dead, or their mothers?

A manky beard on an abusive man is not an honor.😒

And unhygienic.

So he’s even using his daughter as an excuse for having that gross beard? Wow. That is a whole new level of vile

happysunr1se · 17/06/2026 18:20

I don't know who this guy is but OMG his beard is really bad, so so manky and his mouth inside that matted thatch looks like the clenched butt hole of a sheep that's been living lost on a moor for 10 years

THIS is why AI will never replace humans.

DosPerros · Yesterday 06:19

What an abhorrent excuse for a human being.

LuckyHazelFox · Yesterday 07:18

Haha, he's well made for the BBC. Since when has that corporation shown any signs of morality?

UniquePinkSwan · Yesterday 07:19

FizzyPopLove · 17/06/2026 13:03

I saw this this morning.

I was astonished how much hate he has for women. It’s incredible. And he’s endorsed by the BBC.

How many other men hate women this much?

Is he teaching younger men the same hate?

What is wrong with him that he is so abusive? It’s bizarre.

Probably as much as women on here hate men. Multiple threads about it

InterestedDad37 · Yesterday 07:26

His beard alone is a stackable offence.
