Ashley Cain comments about women

Hardliner · 17/06/2026 10:11

He's not particularly on my radar, but I just read this and felt floored all over again about how some men feel about women.

I know the comments were years ago, but this kind of vile misogyny doesn't exist in a vacuum.

What a crappy start to the day.

BBC presenter Ashley Cain called women ‘slags’, ‘sluts’ and ‘bitches’

Exclusive: Cain has been lauded by corporation for his appeal to young men despite history of abusive and misogynistic remarks

What a revolting gobshite.

Quite.

JuliettaCaeser · 18/06/2026 08:15

Imagine if it was hate speech against any other minority group except boring old women. His feet wouldn’t touch the ground 🙄

BlondeFool · 18/06/2026 08:22

He cashed in on his child’s death. I would love his charity to be properly audited.

His beard is absolutely disgusting. It must stink.

MrsKeats · 18/06/2026 08:34

The BBC really has a big issue with who they employ. He’s grim.

BlondeFool · 18/06/2026 08:37

His tattle threads make interesting reading. They have receipts.

KaySam · 18/06/2026 08:45

This man exploited his dying child,in her last days she should have been resting at home with cuddles from her parents not paraded on social media for likes.
there are questions about the money raised.the man was in debt and then suddenly seemingly debt free and wearing designer clothes with high powered cars.

hopefully people will see through him and look into the go fund me.

IdentifyingAsAWoollyMammoth · 18/06/2026 08:48

Never heard of him before. Hopefully I'll never have to hear from him again.

Sadly, I expect I will as he'll probably be the next Restore Britain poster boy bemoaning free speech and cancel culture.

Obeseandashamed · 18/06/2026 08:50

He’s vile. The way he exploited his dying child and her mother was awful!

JHound · 18/06/2026 08:58

I have no idea who he is and I am glad for that. He sounds awful. Why do so many men embrace misogyny?

JHound · 18/06/2026 08:59

LuckyHazelFox · 17/06/2026 15:29

The only surprising thing is that the Guardian even covered it.

What a silly comment.

JHound · 18/06/2026 09:01

LuckyHazelFox · 17/06/2026 18:15

They normally go after the Andrew Tates. I guess coverage is determined by political bias.

Why are mentioning politics? You have no idea if Tate and Cain’s politics differ.

JHound · 18/06/2026 09:04

LuckyHazelFox · 17/06/2026 20:09

Lmfao why can't you judge this sexist prick on his own low merits without trotting out the lazy right man tropes.

Pots and Kettles!! 😂

Because it enables them to hide their own (massive) failings.

ERthree · 18/06/2026 09:06

Obviously as ugly on the inside as he is on the outside.

ExtraOnions · 18/06/2026 09:10

I’m a big supporter of the BBC, I think Public Service Broadcasting is important, and it does lots of great work in education, disability rights etc.

So this story makes me really angry, how could they fail in such a basic way ? I wonder if it’s too much trust / lack of monitoring, of independent production companies… or maybe they are so desperate to grab a certain demographic they let standards slip (still not over them employing Gemma Collins).. or maybe budget cuts are causing it?

Whatever it is, when will they learn? They need to make well researched, intelligent Televison, presented by educated (not misogynistic) people, who don’t think being thick is something to be celebrated. Sick of seeing BBC staffers on House of Games who don’t know basic geography (and by basic I mean not knowing where Germany is) History (not knowing when Queen Victoria was in the throne) .. and a myriad of other topics.

Additup · 17/06/2026 21:28

I've never heard of him, but tbh you can see he's a dick from that photo alone so any dickish comments he makes aren't really much of a surprise.

Yep - I have no idea who he is but his look matches his comments.

I get your point but it’s incorrect to refer to women as a minority group. We aren’t.

JHound · 18/06/2026 09:28

I do think this points to a broader issue though - why is it so many of the male voices seen as “appealing to young men” - from the extreme, (Tate, Cain) to the less extreme (Peterson,
Williamson, Galloway) all seem to lean into misogyny to varying degrees.
Is it a bug or a feature?

Surely there are men who appeal to young men who aren’t misogynistic in any sense.

Squirrel60 · 18/06/2026 09:32

That is one hell of an ugly-looking thing. Wouldn't want to meet that in a cornfield at night, or at any time.

I don't know who this guy is but OMG his beard is really bad, so so manky and his mouth inside that matted thatch looks like the clenched butt hole of a sheep that's been living lost on a moor for 10 years

I do wonder if this kind of beard is in itself a red flag. My ex grew one exactly the same after his descent into the vileness of the manosphere.

Sartre · 18/06/2026 09:35

I’ve never liked the man. He broke up with the mother of his child shortly after their baby died then got another woman pregnant within months. Who does that? That poor woman dealing with immense grief, then the dad shacks up with someone else and has another baby… Talk about rubbing it in her face.

Didn’t they both also get “fans” to donate thousands of pounds towards a charity they never set up as well??

attishoo · 18/06/2026 09:38

Totally depressing, woman hate is so prevalent in our society.😕

I think it’s the whole aesthetic.

All the men I see who embrace that kind of look are almost always raging misogynists.

I also find it disturbing when misogynists always find a group of women will to date them / have their kids.

u3ername · 18/06/2026 09:48

The only reason I know of him is because he was all over my Instagram a while ago fundraising money for his daughter’s treatment. Everyone was chipping in and it was a huge thing. He was portrayed as the ultimate hero girl dad.

Yes I completely agree. My ex really played up his feminist credentials until we were married and I was pregnant. At that point he did an abrupt about turn. Even had the gall to ask me to "make me a sandwich" way way before I'd even heard of the turd that is AT. I thought he was just being rude 🤦🏽
The beard makes me want to heave every time I see him now.
