After decades of disappointment I've pretty much given up on watching England with any hope.

I have Scottish in laws and love the place anyway but after seeing all the videos of the tartan army in Boston I'd so love for them to win ( however unlikely that may be!)

I just think it’d be better to celebrate the team for getting to whatever stage rather than assuming you will win and anything less is epic failure. It just seems like unnecessary pressure on the players / team.

The joy in Scottish football comes from having no expectations, and enjoying the ride anyway, win or (most likely) lose. Then when we have success (and honestly, qualifying in the world cup is as big a success to us, as winning it would be for Germany), we will make the most of it!

We will take one game at a time and enjoy every win, if we get more.

Honestly, i feel sorry for the OP. She came on to just share a bit of happiness. It really doesn't matter who you support. The amount of hate for the Scots is palpable, especially from Countrylife.

There will always be idiots who spout hate but I do not believe the majority of Scots hate the English or vice versa. It is easy to pick out isolated incidences. I love Britain, all our 4 beautiful countries. The football rivalry between Scotland and England is deep rooted and not general hatred.

Can't we all just enjoy the football? Agree there will always be nasty people but for the vast majority it is all said in jest. I was personally delighted for England last night even though I'm a proud Glaswegian!

Let them try!! I actually feel sorry for them having such a narrow minded view. So many Scots have posted positively about England but they still only want to talk about hate. There is NO HATE between us. Scotland and England have always been rivals, it would be odd to change that. It is part of the charm. Plenty of English folk have also stated they've been welcomed here.

Awww, I think whilst there is some 'anyone but England' sentiment, most Scots don't hate the English. And the English don't hate them. It's all a bit of fun and banter. I wish Scotland well too, and would be happy if they won. Happier if England won, but if not them, then Scotland can win.
