Thought I would create a thread for all the everyday irritations that are too petty to share but get your blood up. Whether your oestrogen and agreeableness has deserted you or you are just generally feeling a bit pissed off with things- I feel it’s always better to get it off your chest. And in that spirit-I will begin…

I have a lovely relationship with Vinted (I buy too much shit on here) but it really gets on my nerves when people:

  1. post photos of shoes with foot cheese evident all over the soles (ick).
  2. soneone posts something with a stain saying ‘it will come out in the wash’. So wash it you dirty gopper.

Also ‘DH’ stop leaving your dribbling toothbrush and bog blocking shites in the loo for me to tackle. Fucking beast.

That is all today.

Possibly…..

My parents neighbour who asked to borrow £20 last week when I was away so not calling in regularly. I have a feeling because they gave it to her she isn't going to go away & will keep asking. She ended up in their house too, sat down chatting with them. It's a worry.

Modernfamily2011 · 16/06/2026 12:57

@Bolloxtoitall - Totally agree with the Vinted posts, also, I was looking for bikinis this week and the amount of people posting ‘Model like photos’ of themselves is ridiculous! They also look ridiculous!

Bloody apostrophes being put in plurals because people have no idea what they're doing .
People wittering on about 'I'm sat...', 'I was sat...'

People who confuse your and you're. They mean completely different things.

Brought and Bought! drives me mental!

Plumber texted today - supposed to be coming tomorrow to put in shower. Can’t make it - so we’ll have to wait until July. Why are some tradesmen so blooming unreliable?

TigerRag · 16/06/2026 13:07

This will probably make me sound so fussy - shopping for a decent rain jacket that doesn't cost the earth

DancingInTheMoonlights · 16/06/2026 13:19

My bloated stomach - can’t work out what’s caused it but I look pregnant. Peppermint is not working. Pissing me right off - thank god for elasticated trousers’

Arriving at the hospital at 6.55am and still being here 9.5 hours later mainly due to delays in insurance approval for medication.

OTOH, immensely grateful for the excellent care DH is getting (but we want to go home!!)

I would like to know how copious white speckles of toothpaste get on the mirror, on the towel radiator and on the window sill. H swears it's not him and I know it's not me. It's an absolute mystery.

Also, who has piddled up the tiles at the side of the loo?

who has opened the cereal box upside down?

who sprinkled rice all over the kitchen floor?

who leaves packets of biscuits open so that they go soft?

who puts on mud encrusted boots with deep tread and leaves dried clumps of mud/grass throughout the house, including kitchen, sitting room, hall stairs landing?

who crammed the towel down behind the radiator instead of folding it in half and sliding it on?

who uses one teaspoon until it goes dark brown and rough textured?

who spills a drink across the entire length of a room and carries on as if they're completely unaware of it?

who always coughs/hoiks up globs of mucus before they enter a room/before they begin to speak?

who bellows hello into their phone in the most irritated and aggressive fashion to everyone who rings?

who innocently pretends not to hear so that you have to repeat things several times?

who has the audacity to ask direct questions when I'm counting stitches?

oh I could go on ...

and he denies it all

OMG that is awful!

I've got a pile of washing and for once its actually not raining. But I can't switch the machine on as a man is coming to fit a new smart meter and the electricity will be off for 3 to 4 hours. He was meant to be here at 8am, but i'm still waiting. Could have had 2 loads done by now.

RaraRachael · 16/06/2026 13:32

The weather. Spent yesterday freezing on nursery trip- kids played in playpark, had a picnic, traipsed around the park then back to the playpark.

Would have been bearable on a warm day.

The forecast for the next 10 days is rain every single day.

Echobelly · 16/06/2026 13:36

I put on my 'new' Boden shorts I'd got off Vinted (but had shortened because they turned out to be an unflattering knew length on me) and there's a small but noticeable hole to one side. And I can tell if it was there when I first got them or the dry cleaners did it somehow when adjusting so I can't really complain to anyone. Tbh, I suspect dry cleaners, I might take it to them and ask if they could patch up for free as I think it happened in their watch, sure I would have noticed it otherwise.

This thread and especially this post makes me happy every day that I live on my own! It’s exactly as I want it all the time

Fucking neighbour hasn't stopped whistling in what feels like hours whilst he's gardening..my one day off in ages and I just want to relax in my garden.

FloodlightsOnTheSquare · 16/06/2026 13:40

Teenagers who seem to be completely oblivious to how a house is run, and that they, from time to time, may have to act as part of a family, which involves helping each other, instead of labouring under the delusion that your parents are actually your staff.

CeciliaMars · 16/06/2026 13:45

Vinted only offering size 12-14 or 16-18.

Sweetandsaltycaroline · 16/06/2026 13:47

DH offering to take DS to a sports event to get out of a family bbq when I am the default parent for 95% of things... funnily enough he didnt offer to be the parent who picked DD up from uni, cleared and hoovered her room, went to a school event, took DS to the dentist, emailed school when he was going to miss an exam etc
....

Dustman leaving my empty bin 3 doors down.

Boopydoo · 16/06/2026 14:04

Snippy friend wanting things back, fair enough, had finished borrowing them a while back and she knew that I was no longer using them. She arrived to collect them, just a handful of items and I offered to help her carry them. She had asked for them to be left outside, but I am home and was out grabbing washing off the line as it started raining again. Then I started throwing plants into pots that have needed to be planted, but it won't ever dry up for any length of time! I knew she was due and was just wondering why the leave outside etc she generally knows I'm home on this particular day. Well, the picking up of items and dropping them a bit further away from me, to create a pile, then the moving that pile to around the corner outside my garden, back and forth, back and forth, then a bit further up the street, back and forth back and forth, refusing help etc etc was quite comical at the time.
Now I'm in again and wondering what the hell that was all about!

Scarlettpixie · 16/06/2026 14:13

I have put the cushions out in the garden and now rain is forecast later. I have taken a 10 minute break with my coffee outside just to make the most of it but other than that I will probably just end up fetching them in again as it will likely rain before I finish work (I work from home).

The weeds are growing like fury with all the rain. I have brambles and now nettles ffs!

I have a piece of work to do that I am procrastinating over and so I am both annoyed about having to do the task and about my procrastination.

Dustman leaving my empty bin 3 doors down.

My gate opens outwards to allow me to put the bins out.
It drives me mad when the binmen empty them then put then right in front of the gate so I can't open it.

I have been online looking today why is it so difficult 😫

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 16/06/2026 14:27

The jumpsuit I'm wearing is slightly too short in the body so when I sit down the front presses on my neck. I cannot abide things touching my neck. So I'm having to fidget about to get it back in the right place.

Slugs have been at my lettuces.

Nobody knows how to indicate round here.

The bin bags at work have been swapped for cheaper ones that don't fit the bins properly and burst all the time.
