I used to go out with a guy who called an electrician to change a lightbulb… I was at his house and tbh I was probably going to sleep with him that night which for me is kind of a big deal. I excused myself, and ended up dumping him via text which was a bit mean but looking back he kind of had some rage issues as well as being incompetent so it was probably for the best.

I have been feeling wistful in the last few days about my decision not to risk a relationship again.

Reading this I feel COMPLETELY VINDICATED.

At university I got the ick about a bloke who was objectively very good looking, but wore white jeans and said "supper" for evening meal. My recent relationship was with someone, I now realise, who held his cutlery stupidly. I always noticed it, but now I am thankfully out of it, I realise how ick-worthy it was.

One of the reasons my ex husband is my ex husband is because I increasingly couldn't hide my ick about the noises his throat made. Every time he swallows spit there's a kind of crack noise in his throat. The noise he makes eating a sandwich or a banana makes me want to locate the nearest shovel.

I have since found out I have misophonia!

One bloke used to take me to a pub near to where his ex lived ... we'd drive past slowly afterwards and he'd stare at the house whilst he angrily told me how awful she was. We did this several times before I finally dumped him .. what was I thinking! Very young is my only defence.
