Share your minor complaints here.

Mine is that I can only assume that my DDs key worker at nursery bathes in perfume every morning, as DD reeks of it constantly. Very annoying as now I can only sniff her head for a quick endorphin release on weekends. Luckily my DSs teachers don't do this, so I can still sniff his head.

@Retailrookie
People at work finish a roll and don’t replace it, AND the cleaning lady stores the loo rolls way out of reach.

Today I finished my wee, then had to stand up and waddle with my knickers down to fetch and open a replacement.

Can I add, those round enclosed dispensers that you increasingly find in public places, with the loo roll coming out of the middle? It's only after you've had a wee (or worse) that you realise that, although the dispenser is full, there is no end coming out of the middle and you can't access any loo roll.

I’ve had to take the electric blanket out again. It’s freezing.

Where'd you take it ? Down the pub ?

😂 I would if I could. I’m always freezing. Constant battle in the car with DH about the heating. He gets drowsy if it’s too hot, so I cover myself in coats and shawls, careful not to trip over when we park and I get out.

I have ordered something to be delivered. An email confirmation says I'll get it today but the courier company has not received it. I dont need it today but people lying to me piss me off.

anyolddinosaur · 11/06/2026 10:14

@B0D Someone on here referred to those dispensers as cats arse dispensers, I can never look at them without thinking of it.

My bells and whistles drier is sounding like it’s on the blink. Why do electrical appliances only last between one and three years? I’m sick of it. I just want simple machines that do exactly what they are supposed to. I don’t want fancy settings and singing appliances. Why must they all be so complicated with seventeen thousand different settings? Surely there’s just more to go wrong.

Totally. Or when you take a few items from the washing line and just need a quick blast in the tumble drier but it starts beeping within seconds. Then you open the door, rummage around and start it on again, then it goes on for half an hour, as if it was soaking wet. What’s that about? At least it’s been with us for 12 years, mustn’t grumble.

"Let her"? What could you do to stop it, hang weights off her shoulders? Grin

Not fed her apparently. It is all my fault as I feed her and that makes her grow!
I'm going to have to report myself to SS for feeding her aren't I.

There is no blossom on my plum tree this year so there will be no plums, ie no plum jam in the autumn and no plum gin for Christmas 😩.
Ditto the damson tree at my parents' house.
They must have exhausted themselves with the mast year last summer.

Same here for my apple trees

I can only see one tiny apple

The Smol dishwasher and laundry wash boxes do not open as intended. I don't even try any more.

Yes, and what's with connecting them to the internet? I don't want app notifications that my dishwasher has finished!

If only. I live in the arse end of nowhere. Can't even get takeaways here. I'm doomed. DOOMED

Can you get supermarket deliveries? Most do a short delivery time option for around £8 if not id be knocking up my neighbour 😁

I actually have a food shop being delivered on Saturday. And it does contain wine. I might have to pop into the massively expensive shop quite a few miles away and buy an emergency bottle of wine. A girl needs a Friday night tipple

Can I add the dispensers that are supposed to give you a sheet at a time but for some reason you either get repeated tiny ripped bits of paper or 47 sheets too many which I’m never sure what to do with. There seems to be no middle ground.

This too. My drier is always asking me to link up, why? I don’t want to switch it on or off in the middle of town.
Unless it puts the wet clothes in and folds them when they are dry it isn’t smart.

My washer is German and it literally does not stop beeping till you actually get up and switch it off. I don’t think Miele ever accounted for us lazy Brits who do not like being told what to do by a machine.

I've literally just put an extra blanket on my bed hahaha. June??? Depressing

It's not so unusual, though.

My late auntie always used to say she was cold in bed at midsummer (22/23 June??). I scoffed, but I've found it to be true more often than not! It's funny how long the English summer actually takes to get going. If you think of midsummer really as the start of summer, that's both more realistic and less depressing all round!

CoffeeCantata · 11/06/2026 14:49

I've just come in from a journey through heavy and slow traffic. Twice at smallish roundabouts people cut across me when I had right of way and just avoided a collision.

I let it go. Now, if I'd done that they'd have beeped their horns at me. I always let people get away with this and I don't know why!!!
