Starting the injection on the 15th of this month, due to go away the first week of September
I’m going with an endocrinologist monitoring it and following progress etc

What do you mean?

I thought you meant your bmi was 48 but you where only 13 stone 🤣🤣

Iusedtobelieveinunicorns · Yesterday 17:44

VividDeer · Yesterday 17:42

Similar to me when I started and age
I've lost 1 stone 5lbs in 5 months, part of the time was on wegovy.

That’s fantastic, I must be honest, i’m hoping for more

At 29 you have age on your side. What you don't have on your side is less weight to lose is harder to lose then if you where 20 stone

Just to add I've never used on injections this is what i can lose in 3 months with strict dieting. I don't know how the injections work

The injections make strict dieting easier as many people find it very hard to stick to a strict diet for 3 months.

VividDeer · Yesterday 17:47

You have to see this as a long term change, not a holiday fix.
Good luck though

Thankyou. I thought this is how it worked

If you drop weight too fast you could lose hair, bone density, muscle mass, fitness and have fainting spells. Try not to rush the process for a holiday. Your health overall is more important than trying to look slim for a few weeks.

Christ are people thick , lazy or just can’t read. Her op is clear - her age and bmi , the amount of posters who have asked daft questions or got it assways is unreal.

PrueRamsay · Yesterday 17:48

I agree with PP, I would expect a two stone weight loss over the first three months of treatment, given your starting BMI. Good luck!

Umm , are you on a different thread or something 🤔

1AnotherOne · Yesterday 17:50

I lost 15kg in 3 months on them. It dropped off very fast.

ThisTaupeScroller · Yesterday 17:52

Potentially. I’ve lost 3.5 stone in 5 months on Mounjaro (15 stone down to 11.5). In my experience you’ll loose weight quicker on that than Wegovy. Good luck

hay5689 · Yesterday 17:54

Depends on how you respond to the medication. Some people, myself included, didn’t lose much until they were on a higher dose. You have to be on each dose for at least 4 weeks so fingers crossed you’ll be one of the lucky ones that gets good results on the lower doses.

Brokentoes85 · Yesterday 17:54

Are you v short? How is your bmi 48 when you're 13 stone

Givemeausernamepls · Yesterday 17:54

You will undoubtedly be slimmer. Do you have a plan alongside the injections? Eg daily steps, 3 ish a week workouts and over 100g protein?

liamharha · Yesterday 17:55

I lost 2st 10 in 3 mths ,,,after 9 mths I'm 5 and a half stone down starting weight was 18 st ,,,but everyone is different x

Peony1985 · Yesterday 17:58

Yes . In 3 months you can lose enough weight to be noticeable thin.
Whether you look good on that rapid weight loss is doubtful. It’s often a sign you are ill.

Go for revitalised! Thinner, a bit of muscle tone, great hair and nice clothes .

This thread is hard work. Still can't work out which numbers are your age, weight or BMI.

You’re not providing much in the way of useful information so it’s really hard to provide a useful answer but here goes.

Assuming you’re on Mounjaro, it works by:

  • creating more insulin in response to high blood sugar, making you more sensitive to the insulin you produce, causing your liver to create less glucose.
  • slowing your digestion so you feel fuller longer and need to eat less volume of food which can mean less calories.

You then need to do your part:

  • Calculate your TDEE and eat less calories than that so you’re in a deficit. About 500 less is recommended
  • drink plenty of water
  • Eat foods that are high in protein, fibre, moderate fat and low/complex carbs
  • increase your activity, especially strength exercises to support muscle retention and increased metabolism
  • get enough sleep.

If you put the effort in and take the meds as prescribed then unless you are very unlucky you should see good results.

Like with any diet the first couple of weeks tend to be higher loss, then it levels out. Unlike other diets the Mounjaro makes it easier to stay consistent and stick to the calorie deficit so you don’t have as many of the ups and downs/binges and gains. Instead you just lose a little week on week till you’ve lost a lot. It’s typical that this is 1-2lb a week.

I lost a total of 10st over 18 months, starting with a BMI of 38 and ending with a BMI of 22.

Her OP does not mention her age, weight or BMI, so no, it’s not others who are thick.

I started Wegovy at age 49. I was a size 14, at 5ft 1.

In 5 months, I'd lost around three and a half stones, and was size 8.
