To think Nigel Farage should be locked up?

He was inciting violence with his “address to the nation” speech, calling for rage.

Meanwhile, he doesn’t care when women are actually murdered by the police

Surely enough is enough and they need to take action?

Nigel Farage MP (@Nigel_Farage) on X

We must not allow the tragic murder of a young woman turn into attacks on men and attacks on the police.

Starmer’s actually nailed this one. And so has Badenoch, actually.

Yet neither of those two are leading the polls.

BIossomtoes · 04/06/2026 20:10

Who gives a shit about the polls now? The only one that matters is three years away.

I wouldn't put the kiss of death on it because the way Labour are going, I'm giving them a year, if that. Infighting and a weak flip flop PM. You might not give a shit but many of the electorate do or are you dismissing them as per usual?

The only person who can call a general election is the PM. The last thing this country needs is an early one. The electorate (ie Reform voters) will just have to be patient.

Amazing to see that Rupert Lowe called out Reform as "ugly and offensive" for misquoting Kemi. So they are lower than him ....?

I know. Absolutely astonishing that Lowe has more decency than Farage.

Take it as a compliment. She finds your posts inspiring 😁

Many a great performer is inspired by a stooge.

Calling for political opponents to be locked up is a dangerous path to go down. “Locking up” Farage would lead to martyrdom, it would be called a political action and would simply bolster his fake argument of two tier policing “one rule for us, eh, look at them proving our point etc”.

What should happen is, he should first be censured by the leader of the house for conduct unbecoming of an MP. He should also be investigated and if appropriate cautioned by the police for incitement. He treads that very fine line where he can have plausible deniability. He engages in dog whistle politics and that should be called out. Unfortunately people with their own biases and hatred consider him to be their dear leader, because he makes them feel ok about their —-isms. I have a feeling we should just give in, let it happen to the extremes it always does, which will let the nation swing back to where it has largely always been, with a dollop of “never again”. Easy for me to say that though as other than being a woman, I’m not really a target of their —isms. This kind of division rarely just resolves itself.

JasmineMac · 04/06/2026 20:33

Quite, let's lock people up for exercising their right to free speech. Or rather, just lock up those for whom their views aren't exactly in line with our own.
It'll be a utopic society; we'll all be in jail.

Probably not as low as Keir Starmer;

Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has doubled down on a controversial attack ad on Rishi Sunak's record on crime, saying "I stand by every word."

A Labour advert claimed Mr Sunak did not think adults convicted of child sex assaults should go to prison.

There are several constitutional triggers that can force a general election, none of which require the sitting PM's approval.

Yes, I thought we are commenting on Farage and incitement to violence on this thread.

A vote of no confidence is vanishingly unlikely for a government with a very large majority. Turkeys don’t often vote for Christmas.

I did and wondered how he was getting so much sun…!

He's a cunt and a criminal but if you lock him up, he'll be a martyr too... I wish he would just fuck off and die..

I think that will depend on what Keir does next.

He has said this:
“Henry deserves a legacy that goes beyond this awful tragedy, and I am committed to making that happen,"

Let’s see if he can turn this into more than just words.

BIossomtoes · 04/06/2026 21:01

JuliaBraverman · 04/06/2026 20:59

Neither. They’re the only remotely statesmanlike politicians at the moment. The revulsion the rest of parliament felt for Farage yesterday was palpable.

PomplaMouse · 04/06/2026 21:04

He's vile, and it was awful reading about the Reform nutjobs who, through threats of extreme violence, have forced police officers (current and former) and their families into hiding, on the basis of mistaken identity.

No doubt if those thugs are found and locked up, they'll all be shrieking about freedom of speech.

Absolute vermin, and Farage is their pied piper.

I would think both Labour and Conservative do very much ‘give a shit’ about the current polls. If they don’t, then more fool them.

What do you want to happen?
The IOPC are investigating. An inquest jury will look at whether any “act or omission by a police officer” contributed to Henry’s death.
Wheels are turning to try and establish what went wrong, who (outside the killer) should be held accountable, and what needs to happen next.
Im not sure what practical help, or change “cold rage” will illicit?

Yes, and joining in as usual is Elon Musk. Keir is also calling out this creep who has also incited violence on British streets.
