To be pissed off at housing tenants

To be pissed off at this
We live in a nice area, there isnt much available to rent. The last 4 bed was 4500 a month that came up 2 months ago.
We were renting at 3000 a month an older house but it needed work and the landlord decided to sell so we moved out and living in a temporary small flat further away from kids schools waiting and waiting for 6 months for a house to come up.
We have heard from several friends that in the area the council have moved a problem family in to a large house in one of the roads. They dont work, 4 kids, police round all the time, stolen car crashed into a lampost, kids out the front screaming, teen age boy being arrested.
Anyway, these absolute scummers are living for free in a house we would love..
Whilst I am paying 40 percent tax and effectively homeless with 2 kids. Waiting for a house to come up that I can afford as 4500 is out of budget and property is scarce.
I am basically paying for these people to live in a house i can not afford to live in myself.
Am I a Mug? Should I move countries?
What is the fecking point in working anymore.

Yes she is

And if push came to shove, she would definitely kick that family out to house her own family...

I have no doubt. Frankly I'm surprised she didn't do it, but maybe they're not in "naice" enough area for her kids' school, or her very high horse standards.

I’m aware of how often they are at home because I live next door to them, I can hear them through the poorly soundproofed wall all day, and my husband is retired so he’s here more often than me. x

Country of origin isnt relevant but should be, as NI contributions are supposed to pay for benefits.

Do you have any idea how much your neighbours earn, if they pay NI (which contributes the NHS), whether they have settled status, or pre-settled status??

Lots of people think like this or didn’t you know? I used to sit next to someone at work who used to love telling me how she was “better than” two colleagues because they lived in social housing. Someone else I know refers to those who don’t have a mortgage as “scummy renters”

And yet we are all only a very serious brain or spinal injury away from being on benefits ourselves.

I think that people who look down on others should walk in their shoes for one day. They obviously have no idea what it is like to have been given a difficult life.

I'd seriously love to be wealthy enough to privately rent AND own my own home (which I also rent out as a Landlord).
Am I right in thinking this is the situation for OP?

They do a couple of overnight shifts in an elderly care home. They have settled status

@XenoBitch Wowser. My husband and I would love to be able to earn enough just to own our own home! Now a decade in private rentals.
So why is the OP complaining?
I'm confused.

No idea and thinking they’re somehow ‘superior’

@RetiredFromExplaining you are so right. I take myself as an example. Diagnosed with 2 incurable cancers and face the rest of my living days on chemo. Cancer has taken so much from me, including my job.

Which is a really tough job - and one which many people don't want to do.

My elderly widowed parent is in a care home - I could go into detail about the level of care required...
