No reasonable can accept her explanation that she didn’t notice it on her in laws property.

Or stated as an asset in the accounts that she was responsible for signing off.

What she is asking everyone to be believe is she never saw a motorhome, never saw it at her MIL’s house, never discussed it, nor that her husband ever mentioned it to her.

I appreciate she can literally assert this as a legal defence, but she is actually asking people to believe that.

Her 92 year old MIL.

I don’t think so. She is a source of amusement.

Btw I am staggered. Not divorced? Wow

To be fair, it's not completely clear either way. She announced that they were separating and were to divorce in January 2025, but worth noting that media sources call Murrell her 'estranged husband'.

I would have expected an announcement of some sort if and when the divorce decree came through. According to quotes from family members Sturgeon and Murrell celebrated Xmas and Easter together.

Lovesacake · 01/06/2026 11:09

My husband and I keep separate finances. As I said my in laws also have a long drive to the side of their house which I never go down. So I theory my husband could easily purchase a motor home and store it there and I would be none the wise. How are you supposed to know your husband has bought something if they don’t tell you and you don’t see it and they don’t use it in front of you?

LaliqueSaltGrinder · 01/06/2026 11:10

Again. When ypu are the leader of the party he is the CEO of, and part of your job is looking over the accounts and making sure everything's OK, and said motorhome is on those accounts as an asset.

Her brass neck to do the media round and promote her book this weekend, she should at very least withdraw from public life completely.

I guess a lot of Scots would have voted differently if this had come out a month earlier.

She is finished in politics and so she needs a new career. She probably hopes a London based commentator job or similar. The issue is that she doesn’t have any currency in Westminster circles (by design), she didn’t build any alliances in these circles (by design) and she can’t show any constructive intellectual ideas (no comment).

England doesn’t need her. She is good for a laugh, but little else. Tbh she should be held more accountable in Scotland for her politics and her claims of sexism and misogyny given her actions in office are contemptible.

Lovesacake · 01/06/2026 11:13

@LaliqueSaltGrinder ok so you accept it’s feasible that as a wife it’s possible to be kept in the dark. As I said in my earlier post, failing to have robust checks and processes in place within an organisation is something I think she can fairly be accused of. But that’s very different to knowingly taking part in criminal actives and benefiting from them.

LaliqueSaltGrinder · 01/06/2026 11:15

I think it's quite possible to live pretty much separately from your husband doing your job and never bother to formally separate or divorce. But his fiddling had been going on a long time and she didn't spot anything wrong, and when other people asked to get access to the accounts she blocked them.

I feel torn tbh.Not Scottish ,but I feel NS has always come over as an honest warm person .However I cannot see how she can have missed the Campervan and other large purchases TBH. Maybe she was busy as first Minister who knows? She has questions to answer at the very least I would say

Why is this the case? Why does she come across as honest to people that don’t live here? I find that really odd. Take Alistair Campbell and James O’Brien (LBC). Both prominent broadcasters - outwardly clever people - who think she talks sense. They take seriously the things she says. They seem to sweep away the fact that her prime goal is Indy which would be devastating for the people of Scotland, most of all the poorest Scot’s, those who mainly vote for her. Can’t they see the hypocrisy and dishonesty?

ArabellaScott · 01/06/2026 11:17

She is not honest, and she is not warm.

She is a good actor.

ByGraptharsHammer · 01/06/2026 11:19

Hmm. A victim of her husband’s crime but not divorced.

Campbell and O’Brien are talking heads. They don’t really have skin in the game. Ask them next week about her. It will change

LaliqueSaltGrinder · 01/06/2026 11:21

hy does she come across as honest to people that don’t live here? I find that really odd

I think they are thinking back to the covid period when her daily press conferences were clear and straightforward. No Greek myth analogies. Clear instructions and good presentation skills. Content irrelevant - her communication skills at that time were far better than Boris Johnson and Matt whatshisname the Health Secretary.

All these threads laced with vitriol directed at Nicola are just proving the point that women in politics are subjected to a degree of hatred never directed at male politicians.

It's truly embarrassing the number of posters on a site which is supposed to be primarily for women and supportive of women are so obviously enjoying putting the boot into another woman.

That excuse isn't washing anymore. We want equality, so that comes with the unfavourable as well as unfavourable recognition. The same applies to Reeves and Rayner.

Edited: favourable and unfavourable recognition.

Health was the one thing devolved and she could claim she was looking after people, at a time when there was a lot of fear. It gave her a platform she would never have been able to use otherwise.

It is interesting how much she did use it. I would have found it absolutely teeth grinding to have this kind of thing, but it seemed to go down very well.

Indeed. As long as people aren’t making unjust criticism. All of the criticisms of NS above are 100% justified! She has damaged so many women’s lives in Scotland - just look at her trans obsession for instance - and yet she claims to be a feminist. She’s taking the piss.

I don't support liars and thieves just because they are women. And male politicians who have done dodgy things also attract robust criticism on here. To claim otherwise is sheer nonsense.

Yes they are, but are they robustly criticised and vilified for what their wives have done?

Of course all politicians should be accountable and people have a right to be critical.

But do you think dubbing Nicola as the Nippy Sweetie or calling her Wee Jimmy Krankie isn't demeaning her as a person?
What has that got to do with valid criticism of someone in Public Office?

The scorn and derision Nicola has always had directed at her has been of a personal nature and it is very much so now.

I seem to remember Bojo's wife/partner, getting some stick. Much of it was to do with her choice of man.

Male MPs are fair game so why is it different for women? There is not one single valid reason and it's not misogynistic. Internal or otherwise.

Parking up in my campervan! Sorry my husbands campervan

Last night I read a quote from her where she claimed she didn't know the motorhome was his at first,
"... because he parked it down the road"

Um 👀

How naive are we supposed to believe she was?

I haven’t seen anyone doing that on here apart from you.

What giving a woman a nickname that portrays her as a physically challenged man who is known as a comedian isn't misogynistic?

Nobody has discussed her in these terms here. There is a proper focus on her actions and omissions.

You do know wee Jimmy was played by a woman, right?
