British behaviour in holiday hotel

We are staying at a good all inclusive resort (yes, I know all inclusive is not high end, but this is about as good a one as you can get). I am just shocked and ashamed at fellow british people at breakfast time. Letting their kids make a huge mess by allowing them to get their own food. Huge amounts of wasted food. Multiple untouched plates left on tables. Total disregard for others barging round, blocking walkways etc. When did this become ok?? AIBU with expectations? Bear in mind this is not a cheap rubbish tui-blue type place. I dread to think what they are like!

Maybe the brits abroad could also improve their behaviour?

Maybe you should challenge your own arrogant certainties - you may be happier.

Nah I can speak for myself thanks. I'd be happier if drunk British people don't piss in the pool near me and have sex on sunbeds and vomit near me.

You didn't admit you were wrong I see. Again who wrote " all people hate the English!" . It's not anywhere on this thread. Do you always over- exaggerate? Calm down.

She also fabricated a question from me - I never said anything about despised Brits. She keeps talking about xenophobia while asking people where they are from, specifically if they are russian.

Dogmum74 · 26/05/2026 21:07

As someone who has stayed multiple times in a TUI Blue Sensatori resort I can say for a fact, that they are neither cheap; nor chavvie. And it sounds like you would be better off in one. You massive snob. Sounds like you are in fact in a 3 star crap hotel

Dogmum74 · 26/05/2026 21:09

Lizzypet · 26/05/2026 19:33

We went to a Tui Blue last year. The hotel & grounds were immaculate, the food was amazing and there was none of this behaviour. The clientele was mostly German. It's the only one we've been to so I can't compare to others.

Edited

I literally just typed my response to say we have stayed in TUI Blue Sensatori hotels on multiple occasions and NEVER had a problem. OP sounds like a massive snob who is also staying at a low level resort, which TUI Blue most certainly is not

@Scarfitwere YANBU!! I'd be mortified to be English!

This is why I stay in a half board hotel that will be mostly foreign people there and just a handful of "well trained" English! The uncouth don't tend to bother with places where they don't speak English and serve "foreign stuff" to eat! My kids are well trained and polite!

I'm a teacher in a state secondary school and I really think we need to go back to basics with parenting, and give parents a guide book on how to raise a child!! We took a Y7 residential trip with 100 kids, and the amount of kids who can't use a knife and fork, don't sit at a table to eat, take more food than they intend to eat etc... is shocking. We also banned phones, and the kids didn't know how to socialise. By the end of the week, they were finally having a laugh about the stuff they'd done all week rather than talking about what someone else had done on TikTok.

The ‘uncouth’. Get off your high horse you massive snob. And the fact you refer to people as ‘foreigners’ tells me all I need to know about you.

Goditsmemargaret · 26/05/2026 21:12

OP said she must have been wrong about TUI Blue, I don't know why people keep raising it again.

Uncouth. Lol its like we are back in the 1800s.

"There were no uncouth yobs on my all inclusive holiday"

The worst behaviour I have seen by children is at an Ikos resort, one of the most expensive all inclusives. The parents look on indulgently while their children run riot and throw food and run around bars while staff are trying to serve drinks. Price isn’t a differentiating factor at all.

Nothing worse than children running round and screaming, and their parents not doing a thing.

Ilovemsrachel · 26/05/2026 15:11

Bollocks. I’m surrounded by quite posh people and they almost all go AI. Usually Ikos and Sani in Europe and then upscale places in the Caribbean, Maldives etc.

The poshest of course have second homes but look around any Ikos and you’ll hear a few plums in mouths

I know right!!! Posh people do FREQUENTLY go AI. And those on here saying ‘it’s free’ - of course it isn’t free. It is included in what you have paid for!!!!

ThatJadeLion · 26/05/2026 21:17

I was going to say this. For us it was closer to 5k when I looked so definitely not cheap and from what friends said they had a lovely time!!

bit rude OP

We just got back from a TUI Blue Sensatori for a week, did not experience anything like the kind of shit behaviour the snobby OP is talking about, hotel immaculate; food amazing, no children behaving obnoxiously. Methinks OP needs to re-evaluate where they think is ‘posh’ lol 😂

So so true. Both nationalities with such a high proportion of tourists seemingly oblivious to how obnoxious they are.

Not really a "fabrication" if you are demonstrably a massive xenophobe! Again, perhaps have a look at your prejudice certainties about people from certain countries as you may well realise that you are likely wrong about them.

Sorry, what a confusing position you take, so unacceptable to make that remark but absolutely fine to lambast all British and American tourists as "obnoxious"? Eh?

Yes you have said the same thing ten times now

Noodles1234 · 26/05/2026 21:36

We stopped holidaying in the UK as of the Brits (not all, just too many each time), letting dogs mess in beaches around other peoples kids, I had one wee in a shallow pool where my kids were playing and not a peepe from the owners looking, then there’s the portable speakers (bane of my life).
so went to Europe and they’re blooming there as well, having late night drinking sessions on a family caravan site (all teens and adults), squawking past 11pm. Yep all Brits were the oroblem that week, I don’t doubt other countries have their issues but it’s less of a % than us.
I actually apologised to the site team the next day who looked utterly fed up, I explained we are not all like it.
One UK site was so awful where the feral kids ran loose until the club bar shut at 3am when drunk parents came out, men fist fought on the paths, kids ran along still screaming. We lasted 2 nights out of 7.
I just see a lot more fed up, tired and stressed parents / or ones just interested in getting drunk from breakfast onwards or plain lazy letting their kids do what they want and it’s not wealth driven. I do wonder if we are all driving ourselves into the ground trying to be able to afford to live we have lost our way.
I hear Portugal have banned portable speakers on beaches, so I’m off there next year. Wish they’d ban them here or at the last offer beaches where they are banned so people can choose.

I'm likely wrong that I've hated two AI inclusive holidays because of the obnoxiously British guests at them to the point I refuse point blank to book anywhere that has an AI option?

No I'm not wrong about that as it's my own lived experience.

I have no issue with British people generally and am married to one. However I find it interesting that they are almost without exception oblivious to the fact that they are not collectively popular in certain places.

You are a prime example of this.

It's like if the Irish were unaware that they have a reputation for being big drinkers.

Yes it's a strange one!

Everyone except some British people on here know that British tourists are thought of as being rude, loud, drunk ad obnoxious. We all know that stereotype. It doesn't mean that ALL British people are like that.

The same as we all know that the stereotype of the Irish is that they drink a lot. It doesn't mean that every Irish person drinks a lot.

user281262 · 26/05/2026 21:49

I am British. I am well behaved as are my family and friends. I don’t care if other nationalities hate Britons. They can slate me and my fellow countrymen off all they like. Water off a duck’s back. Says more about them.

There you go again with your xenophobic certainties- Brits are not collectively liked, blah, blah, blah. The Irish drink blah, blah, blah. In your lived experience which seems quite limited frankly as that's just not a thing across the whole of Europe and the world. It's just your prejudices coming through loud and clear. Not everyone thinks in these narrow, devisive terms.
