I completely agree OP and it’s this sort of thing surely that has led to this schism with his son. Something just fundamentally missing or wrong in their lives I would say. Full disclosure I worked with both in the past on projects and they were nice people but utterly image obsessed.

I don't think he's desperate for attention, I just think he's reach a stage in his life/fame where he's now being invited to be part of things that he's genuinely interested in (gardening, chickens etc) and so he takes part because he wants to.

DB worked hard to be a talented footballer supported by his dad, works hard for charity and has worked hard with his wife to create financial security.

A billionaire - not bad for a working class, state educated kid, from Leytonstone.

Works hard for charity to get a K. That was his motive. Now he seems to be angling for to be a royal the amount of sucking up he does to the royals. Perhaps he can be the new Duke of York now there is a vacancy. He is probably trying to get Harper hitched to one of William’s lads.

I think some of this is manufactured or people forgetting that algorithms exist.

I’m on several social media platforms and other forums and this is the first one even mentioning Sir David Beckham. Heck, I hear nothing about him out and about. No talks about him while standing in the pick-up line, nothing.

Like I said upthread, I’ve only seen him mentioned recently because I’m on the David Austin Roses emails. Before that it was once again on here when it came to his son. I don’t follow him or his family like that to claim he’s everywhere.

I see him mentioned here more than anywhere else, twice this is entire year.

Trouble is I don't have to click anything to see him on my telly advertising crisps, alcohol, air fryers, soft drinks and the like. Then I pop Chelsea on the beeb and there he is again. I don't even watch that much telly but without even trying I seem to see more of Mr Beckham on there than almost anyone else.

The tv network most watched in our house is CBeebies. DH mainly watches sport on the tv. The times I have watched the tv, I’m usually checking something on my phone during adverts.
