Shamelessly posting in aibu, I know I'm not being unreasonable to ask but PLEASE tell me what finally helped you get pregnant?

I know it sounds mad but I swear it was these! A friend told me to try them cus there’s been studies done on how one of the ingredients (thing it’s the one beginning with g) can help you conceive and at that point I was desperate! Had been trying for 3 years and nothing, took these and got pregnant xx

Ooooh wow!!!! Will have a look!

I hate saying this as it sounds like such a cliche BUT we had been trying for 2 years, went to GP and had been referred to fertility clinic. We relaxed and stopped actively trying over Christmas . Two days before our appointment at fertility clinic in January I found out I was pregnant! Working it out DS was conceived around New Year’s Eve, when we both got extremely pissed!

SaltyCara · 18/05/2026 21:31

Not tracking anything but having sex every 2-3 days so there were always live sperm waiting to fertilise an egg if released. Apparently more often than that doesn't increase chances.

DramaAlpaca · 18/05/2026 21:32

After almost a year of trying, decided 'sod it' and put down deposits on two expensive exotic holidays. Got pregnant the following month, and had to cancel both of them.

It opened the floodgates because I conceived DC2 immediately we started trying, while still breastfeeding DC1. DC3 took about four months I think.

Sex

MrsLFii · 18/05/2026 21:34

Going very low carb and intermittent fasting which led to me losing weight and taking myo-inositol (I’ve PCOS)

Mrssalvatore123 · 18/05/2026 21:35

2 failed IVF. Was saving up for a private round. Bumped into an old friend who suggested half an aspirin and a full avocado a day. I assumed it was bollocks but would have tried anything. 6 weeks later I was pregnant naturally. Might have had nothing to do with it though. Good luck xx

changedusernameforthis1 · 18/05/2026 21:36

We used ovulation tests and BBT chart tracking, fertility lubricant (pre-seed, conceive plus etc), and generally tried to stay healthy.

Might be coincidence, but we also tested with early tests every month - the only time we got a positive was when we decided we weren't going to waste money on them and would wait for my wife to miss her period.

Wish you all the best!

After 10 years of failed IVF AND a miscarriage, did a detox and lost a stone, was about to start adoption path, and got pregnant.

Marmite1992 · 18/05/2026 21:38

I stopped ovulation testing and temperature measuring. Has sex every other day and thought fuck it I don't want to be pregnant this month so I can drink over Christmas. Bam pregnant.
It's really annoying when people say don't stress and it will happen but it is sort of true!

Ragatha · 18/05/2026 21:38

I wasn't tracking, but we were still actively TTC. After 9 months of this, I got some ovulation sticks and the first month I used them, I fell pregnant.

Foodylicious · 18/05/2026 21:39

Figuring out I ovulate around day 17/18, then taking vitamin b6 to try to help lengthen luteal phase.

PShelp · 18/05/2026 21:39

After two years, lost a bit (not loads) of weight, stopped temping and DTD every other day after my period ended. Happened the second month of trying without tracking! I'd also resigned myself to the fact we would need assistance so I think let go a bit, maybe was a bit less stressed as it felt more in someone else's hands iyswim.

Tellmetomorrow57 · 18/05/2026 21:42

I should also add I tried to think of it in terms of statistics. It isn't personal, it isn't a failure (hard I know) it's just maths.

Speediegonzales · 18/05/2026 21:42

Regular sex with the mindset if it happened, it happened, if it didn’t so be it. No tracking or anything.

Penkie · 18/05/2026 21:42

After 2 years sought help from doctor who prescribed bromocryptine. Fell pregnant 2 months later.

PersephoneParlormaid · 18/05/2026 21:43

I was tracking the height of my cervix, and my discharge.

DowntonCrabby · 18/05/2026 21:43

We only tried for 7 cycles but the first cycle I tried pressed/conceive plus I fell. Who knows though whether that actually helped things.

MrsLFii · 18/05/2026 21:44

Also, with my first, we’d finally (after nearly 18 months of waiting!) got our first fertility clinic appointment come through so we were so relieved about that, and I did a ‘just in case’ pregnancy test the night before our appointment… positive. Couldn’t believe it really. So another annoying bloody voice saying ‘oh we just relaxed’ 😂

TheGardenPond · 18/05/2026 21:45

I took Benelyn mucus cough syrup, having read on mumsnet it also thins cervical mucus and lets the sperm swim through. Finally got pregnant.

sunshineandshowers21 · 18/05/2026 21:45

i’m not advocating this, and it’s purely anecdotal. but i know three women who struggled to get pregnant who started mounjaro, and were all pregnant within six months. including my sister in law. it took four years to have their first, three months of mounjaro and she was pregnant.

wizbit93 · 18/05/2026 21:47

Tried for eight months following a miscarriage. Decided to give up and booked our wedding…… got pg the next month!

Dalmationday · 18/05/2026 21:47

Smiley face ovulation sticks. Taking COq10 both of us. Husband quitting stressful job

saminamama · 18/05/2026 21:48

Try as soon as your period finishes. And mine were both either just before or after holidays
