Link to spreadsheet of Labour MPS calling for resignation - https://x.com/GuidoFawkes/status/2053925699824574889

Streeting has to make his move now, Starmer will never be this weak and he has the chance to go now.

Burnham might be more likely to win, but he is not in, and where exactly is a safe seat by election they could parachute him in for? (nowhere)

So - Streeting will never have a better chance of being PM, he pulls the trigger NOW or he never pulls it at all.

I did say on Thursday that I thought it would be Friday or Monday.... Tuesday is a pretty good guess.

This is a quiet Bat People moment... That Speech... not worth remembering...

Contrary to your predictions yesterday, Streeting doesn’t have the support he needs. Catherine West went too soon but it’s nice to see Streeting’s buddies have resigned with nothing to show for it.

The ONLY reason Starmer is not gone is that SOME Labour MPs want to wait for Burnham to be eligible. No other reason. Nobody likes Keir, they are just deciding do they fire now, or when Burnham can run.

Looks like it’s moving on now anyway, re WS

Hottest rumour from Politics UK is Streeting is about to resign and trigger the contest tomorrow....

The odds on Streeting have shortened A LOT.

My goodness. Your crystal ball is finally working!

Caveat: it is The Times saying this, nothing confirmed yet.

Where exactly is Streeting, given he is NOT on the front bench for the opening of parliament...

Live. Now.

Shuffling him out would just make the challenge more likely not less.

Yep and he’s resigning anyway to challenge, if what’s reported goes ahead.

Congratulations, your thread aged incredibly well. Also, by any reasonable measure, you are supporting a fascist party. Saying "there are 8 million of us" does not negate that. A lot of German people voted for Hitler; it didn't make him not a Nazi. Whilst you're screeching from the far right, you might reflect that the Tories changed leaders whenever the mood took them, without calling a General Election. You'd have to be a screaming hypocrite to claim that a Labour Government cannot do the same.

Labour demanded GEs when the last gov changed leaders.

None of that helps Starmer's position though. Harriet Harman has caused further damage to him this morning and she's only been in her role for a few days. Such a ridiculous debacle.

Is that about her tweet offering a peerage to the ex-leader of Oldham Council? Lol.

God that's awful. No, it was her suggesting Starmer brings Andy Burnham into his cabinet (assuming that's true).

This is pathetic.

you can’t call people Fascists without some very strong proof it’s incredibly offensive to the millions who died at the hands of actual Fascists.

just because you don’t like a party, does not give you the right to make that accusation.

what Specifically is Fascistic about any Reform policy? (Or Tory).

it ruins public debate when you come out with things designed to shut down

Compare and contrast Hitler's rhetoric about Jewish people and Farage's rhetoric about immigrants and Muslim people.

If you don't see the parallels, it is because you don't wish to deal with uncomfortable facts @SingleSexSpacesInSchools

I agree with this. Demonising Muslims and their businesses, talking about building concentration camps in Green-voting constituencies, removing access to the institutions which give us protection from rogue governments abusing our rights, I mean it’s pretty damn on the nose.

I don't blame you. Since there isn't a block button it's easier not to engage with people where it isn't worth your time and energy.

Whatever you think of Reeves' performance in the role it's possible to discuss that without calling her names like that.

There are many attempts at censorship on this thread today. “don’t say this….don’t say that…that’s not very nice….the mean team”,
by the virtuous, we hold the high moral ground centre left, Starmer supporters.

By some standards this is quite polite. We are
just sharing fact, opinion, debate, speculation
and observation and space on SM and a few laughs along the way.

All input valued!

Here you go. This is not my work but the work of someone called Claudia Karl.
