Whoever you are voting for today, it's probably not Labour - they might loose 2,000 seats.

How long exactly will it be before he resigns?

Also, Starmer only needs to sit back and watch the Greens and Reform mess up the councils they take charge of. And for them both to come under further scrutiny.

My local council is Labour run and is utterly corrupt. Primary kids would do a better job so I’m happy for the greens to give it a go….although it’s likely to reform unfortunately.

RoutineQueen3 · 07/05/2026 12:10

Im shocked anyone has voted labour! What planet are you on!?

Bertiebiscuit · 07/05/2026 12:10

In my Ward in East London none of the "politicians" appear to care about the people they live amongst who have filthy crime ridden pot holed streets , drugs everywhere, street harassment of women and girls, overwhelmed NHS, libraries underthreat, yet they care so much about Palestine and Gaza. All useless dangerous loons, won't be voting.

Have you been asleep for the last two years?

I was to busy recovering from the 14 years previous to him to notice anything, I don't know why I bother responding to these posts it is just goady nonsense .

RosieHosie · 07/05/2026 12:11

I voted independent. We have had independent councillors for quite a few years now and they do a good job holding the shit lib dem run council to account. There is also a fabulous conservative councillor locally who i hope gets in again, despite people confusing local elections with a general election.

I hope Streeting doesn't replace Starmer if he does go. He doing his utmost to screw over the NHS and all its workers, I wouldn't trust him running the country.

BIossomtoes · 07/05/2026 11:57

No it isn’t. It’s a hypothesis based on prejudice.

Wrong.

If someone is caught cheating at tax, its a fair assumption that they have cheated previously.

I don’t believe leopards ever change their spots.

Flatinbed · 07/05/2026 12:14

This type of thread shows that democracy is a pretty rubbish idea (although still the least worst option).

I think it is crazy that people will vote Reform, who have been shit on the councils that they have voted in for, because they don't like the PM. He is nothing to do with your local council. Why would someone vote to make life shitter for themselves?

GasPanic · 07/05/2026 12:15

letsallchant · 07/05/2026 11:28

Please give us the examples of all the other PMs under pressure who have resigned after the tipping point of poor mid-parliament local election results. We'll wait.

I prefer this analysis.

We have a short time to find out what will happen.

Can you explain the similarities between Starmer and Hitler?

None. It was the consistency and stability part of the post I was referring to. Consistency and stability mean nothing if all that’s stable is utter incompetence.

Wheresthebeach · 07/05/2026 12:16

I hope he stays, not because I think he's going a good job, but Rayner will be worse.

Thanks, that was actually an interesting take. Not the evidence I asked for though! 🤔

It's a point of view but even in the article it's conceded that nothing may happen for some time yet. So don't think we will necessarily have 'a short time' to find this out.

AprilMizzel · 07/05/2026 12:21

I don't think he'll go willingly however bad the results are.

Labour party will have to kick him out which is apparently harder to do to a Labour leader than Tory- and there no-one obvious waiting in wings as solid this is the candiate person to consolated behind.

I think what we'll get is half assed attempts - and more paranoia from No 10 about plots to oust him so badly handled they make them look worse every time.

I don't think he'd lose any vote of confidence in parliament as enough Labour Mp would vote to keep themselves in power and hope something improves before next election.

It was pointlessly clickbaity to make the comparison at all then, really.

No because HMRC is still dragging its heels deciding whether or not she owes it. Seven months and counting now.

Amazing how quickly they managed to sort out Hunt’s unpaid stamp duty which was substantially more than 40k and was incurred on entirely non residential property - a less complex tac situation. They were very cagey about confirming exactly when the transactions (plural) happened but if it wasn’t whilst he was chancellor it was pretty damned quickly afterward.

Google Oldham Labour corruption.

MyFellowScroller · 07/05/2026 12:28

Like many weak men Starmer is stubborn. He will cling on longer because there will never be enough Labour MPs to force a vote of no confidence. last week they didn't even refer him to the Privelige committee.

Not really. It was to highlight the flawed notion that stability and consistency are above all else.

StrictlyCoffee · 07/05/2026 12:30

Did Sunak go when the Tories lost the last lot of local elections?

People need to grow up and get over it. Maybe Starmer will go, maybe he won’t. The last lot in government replaced the PM twice with no GE. There should be no GE until it falls due in 2029. The tantrumming about this is pathetic.

Girlwithavibe · 07/05/2026 12:31

Too many politicians trying to boost their own career all this in house fighting they should be doing the job they are being paid for and what is best for the British people of this country !
Stop being fucking career fuckers stick with your team leader and get a grip on what's happening in this country pop your head into the real world 🌎!
That's the problem ,!!!
Too many prime ministers changing they not having enough time to get us outta this funk we should stick with just the one long term my opinion

Here are some examples of the opposite

1990 Major succeeded Thatcher
2007 Brown succeeded Blair
2016 May succeeded Cameron
2022 Truss succeeded Johnson
2022 Sunak succeeded Truss

No elections.

To be fair to the PP I think they failed to read through and check the output of the tool. Several of the examples don’t actually demonstrate the claim.

Well, in his own words, he will step down when Mrs Starmer tells him its time…

The nation’s eyes are on you, Mrs Starmer….
