Yet again dismissing the hate crime suffered by the Muslim community- 45% of all hate crime!!It beggars belief and says a lot about those who belittle it.

Who's belittling it? All hate crimes are disgusting and this is not a competition.

Yet, the fact is that 45% of religious hate crimes are against Muslims while 29% are against Jews!!

Let's look at the maths. Given that the Muslim community is 14 times the size of the Jewish one, clearly Jews are disproportionately affected by hate crimes.

Simple maths shows that the Jewish community is NINE TIMES more affected by hate crime than the Muslim one. Jews are clearly more targeted and more vulnerable.

Why is this such an issue for you? It's not a zero sum game.

Great we’re agreed all hate crimes whether it’s against the Jewish community or against the Muslim community are equally abhorrent.

Kemi Badenoch refuses to speak to women in burkas at surgeries thus making them voiceless and describes public Muslim prayers as an act of domination -very much designed to whip up hate.

She isn’t fit to govern.

That's not a hate crime. She doesn't want to talk to people when she can't see their faces, that's nothing to do with Islam.

She has focused now on antisemitism because everyone else is ignoring it.
The fact that you're so desperate to bring back the focus on to Muslims when the Jewish community is NINE times more likely to suffer a hate crime. Nine times!! A little bit of recognition of just how targeted British Jews are would go a long way.

It’s disrespectful to religious beliefs and actually lets down Muslim women ( think we see a theme here as regards women)in the area she serves.

Both communities are targeted and it’s equally vile.

She said she won’t allow face coverings like burkas or balaclavas.

A previous Labour Home Secretary Jack Straw said the same thing about face coverings as he said conversation worked better without them.

Is there any reason a burka couldn’t be removed for a conversation between one woman and another in Kemi’s surgeries?

She’s replicating the Keir Starmer model of opposition then? I seem to remember the robust defence from Labour supporters endlessly stating that he did not need to announce any policies at all until the last possible moment before the GE. Certainly worked for Labour?

True, although it’s not working out for them now.

Gallowayan · 07/05/2026 08:01

She is just another incompetent with no talent or policies to add to the list of failed tory leaders. The problem has always been the selection process which gives the reactionary old fools who are the party members a say.

I actually can't identify any positive measurable impact this government has had on my family. If anything we are worse off under this government

  • DH and I are paying more tax
  • my nhs teams budget has been cut and wait times gone up
  • my daughters school- funding has reduced by around 8% in real terms based on reports I have reviewed as a governor, and there has been a negative impact on the support children receive via them not being able to afford as many TA's
  • cost of living is up
  • my oldest is unlikely to get a decent secondary school place for 2027 - for the first time in 9 years most children in our village didn't get into the only decent secondary near to us. Due to the vat on school fees a private school near us has closed and these children have taken those places as closer to the school.

But whenever it's challenged the response is 'well they can't fix those mess in a year or 2 can they'. And no, I didn't expect them to wave a magic wand. But I didn't expect them to make things worse.

I voted Labour at the last election, particularly due to the universal free breakfast clubs (which never materialised) and the increased state school funding (which never materialised) and the increased nhs funding ( we haven't seen any of this and have had to cut 11% off our budget over past 2 years). My trust has gone. So if it's Kemi or Keir (and is has to be Labour or Conservative, we cannot have Reform in power) then I'm voting for Kemi

Agreed. These are all real life objective results of Labour party decisions (col aside). I'm sorry you've been affected so much. Us too x

Lets hope England get to vote next time, it's only fair.

You can't impose your religious beliefs on others. Its not disrespectful at all

And we can agree that the Jewish community is targeted proportionally 9 times more and hence far more vulnerable and at risk

Imposing their religious beliefs on Badenoch would mean insisting she wore a burka too. It’s highly disrespectful.

Quite.

It does remind me of the gender woo hoo ha. I am a woman and thou shalt call me a woman - says man in dress. Nope no - you can't tell another person what to think.

They could insist, it wouldn't matter.

Shes not forcing them to remove.the burqa but she doesn't want to talk to anyone whose face she can't see.

BTW, women don't have to have to wear a burqa in Islam.

Representing and working with her constituents isn’t a matter of choice. It’s her job to engage with them regardless of personal preference. She wouldn’t have the choice if she worked in a shop.

Upstartled · 07/05/2026 08:53

I really like Kemi. She is composed and direct. She doesn't hide behind a wall of waffle and hand-wringing when asked a question. I like her manner and her policies.

Hallowedturf · 07/05/2026 08:55

Kemi has the distinct air of a PM-in-waiting.

Without any of the bullshit peddled by Starmer when he was electioneering in 2024.

She’s a breath of fresh air, frankly.

BIossomtoes · 07/05/2026 09:02

Badenoch will never be PM. The in-waiting part is a fantasy. Someone (was it you?) posted a poll showing the vast majority of the public don't see her as that.

Upstartled · 07/05/2026 09:09

Good job the next general election isn't for three years. (Presuming that when Labour jettison Starmer they don't replace him with a loon who will frogmarch us to bankruptcy)

Och, the real story will be the consequence of Labour losing Wales and Scotland, as well as England losses.

Specifically, your man in No. 10.

That same time you beg for, will permit Kemi to grow and grow.

I’ve spent a lot of time in Muslim countries. Of course it’s fine. Women will remove head coverings etc when they know they are in a space with only women present. This is why the gender neutral toilet/rest rooms will never exist in Muslim countries.

Scotland isn't Labour's to lose. For someone apparently so interested in UK politics, it is shocking and rather strange that you don't know that.

Funny how none of the English-based parties are shouting for that… 🤔 you should contact your MP to demand a referendum.
