I compare Kemi's response to Diane Abbott's and see which words are the most wise. I also see which response is the most divisive.

What did Diane Abbot say now?

Was looking up her response out of interest. It was her usual only black people are true victims of racism. White people and their privilege, how dare they think they can be oppressed. She has form for this. I don't normally do links but it's out there what she said. She wants to stay in the past with regards to racial profiling. She's made a living from it. I don't why she's never criticised for being divisive but I guess she's Left/Labour and kemi is easy pickings being a Tory.

Kemi brilliant on radio 4 just now

I’m on holiday at the moment so can’t get radio 4 - what was she speaking about please?

LuckyHazelFox · Yesterday 08:22

Brill. Will catch up on that.

Same

Me too. I think lots of us want to - but the 14 years brigade make it hard to stand up for what you think. I actually don’t think the tories did a bad job when you consider what was inherited and Covid etc.

I wouldn't have wanted to have been under Labour during covid.

Thanks @OpheliaWasntMad , will catch up later.

Legal equality duty for public services should be scrapped, says Badenoch

Rules requiring public bodies such as schools and hospitals to promote equality when making decisions should be scrapped, Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch will say in a speech on Tuesday.

In what the party says is the first step in a wider programme to "restore common sense", Badenoch will argue that the Public Sector Equality Duty has been used to promote "dangerous and divisive agendas".

She will say it has "become a minefield that exposes almost every significant public decision to legal challenge".

The Labour government, meanwhile, is promising a new equality and diversity strategy with a primary focus on getting working class people joining and progressing in the civil service.

Doesn't bear thinking about. We wouldn't have been the first in Europe to get the vaccines that's for sure.

I think she says things to appeal to a certain demographic. I find views on maternity pay and the equality act highly concerning. I find her views on Jews, Christians and Muslims highly problematic. I suspect that she is not supportive of Jewish people as she makes out.

Promoting common sense and balance, as per usual. The public sector is in dire need of it.Thanks for posting that. Will have a proper read later. Power to Kemi 💪

Meanwhile the Labour flim-flam continues - what a mess they are. Embarrassed for them.

Politicians tend to want to appeal to people. Starmer can’t which is why he’ll be out soon but as a job getting people to listen and understand what you stand for is key.

If everyone loathes you then your party will replace you.

Not sure about the Jewish slight either.

I wouldn't have wanted to have been under Labour during covid.

Neither would I tbh (even though I voted Labour at the last election) because the economic fall out would have been even worse under Labour with longer shut downs etc .

What are her views on Jewish people that you find highly concerning ? I haven’t heard her saying anything negative about Jewish people.

Indeed. Unless it is Kemi’s strong response against antisemitism that some find concerning.

I agree, I have been really impressed with Kemi of late. She talks sense. Labour under Kier Starmer have been such a disappointment to me, a lifelong labour voter. I would consider voting conservative with Kemi in charge.

Same. She is brilliant at challenging over confident undertalented men, I'd vote for her purely on that

What exactly are her views that you find concerning? Please be specific and don’t just wheel out the deliberate twisting and misrepresentations from various hit pieces written on her like PPs did - they didn’t stand up to scrutiny.

I agree with both you @Twiglets1 That's somebody who's clearly not taken the time to listen to and analyse Kemi's stance on anti-semitism. When she stood up to the left wing agitator on the street, her passion for protecting the Jewish community spoke volumes. She's given Jews more reason to hope than Starmer. Her words were coming from the heart. The agitator was left just raising her voice with hot air. No change there.
