Deflection. You seem to think all dissenters vote Labour. They don't.

A question, who are you voting for? Not many are doing that well.

Haha at both, wth

Ludicrous

Wasn’t Labour offensive about Kwasi Kwarteng too? Not sounding as he should. A bit like the not the right sort comment in pp

I know I have always voted Labour but as an Asian person, I have voted for them despite this, but it has always been highly irritating to me. They don't see 'PoC' as people with different backgrounds and experiences. Yet they have no problem with seeing White Europeans as different people with different political views and experiences. Asian people ( and Black people) have vastly different experiences, background, education, religions, countries etc. We don't all think the same because we come from vastly different backgrounds, just as White Europeans do. Many Black and Asian people have problems with illegal immigration for example not because they are ' pulling up the drawbridge' but because they have the same concerns about excessive immigration as anyone else. Plus the added concern that if they have claimed asylum from their home country they don't want random people who could possibly have been the people they were escaping from in the first place rocking up - a major problem for the Iranian dissidents community for eg-or sectarian violence being dragged into their streets or to be put out of business by people running visa and immigration scams, and being tarred with the same brush.

An answer - Nothing to do with you but it's not Labour.

jasflowers · 06/06/2026 14:37

Both Tories and Labour are neck n neck on 19% (YouGov voting Intentions)

Tories should be way ahead, if they cannot do well against an unpopular PM and Govt, then thats on their leadership.

I thought you’d say that. Whoever it is they’re likely doing worse in the polls and the leader’s rating lower than Kemi’s since she is out rating the male leaders.

Right, sorry for provocatively asking why you like the leader of your preferred party...I'll try and keep the inflammatory comments down 🤷🏼‍♀️

Did you notice the recent council elections?

The Tories lost 100s of councillors, barely better than Labour, so whatever her own personal ratings, they are not translating into votes or support for the Tories.

Should this remain, then yes she will be gone by 2029, the Cons are nothing but ruthless when it comes to getting rid of their failed leaders, by god they have enough practice 😆

Oh I see. So you'd prefer Reform to be the party of the right?
You may get your wish in 2029.

Because it's an odd deflection and I'm not indulging it. Who cares that she is female? Or black? Irrelevant. Commenting on that rather than capability is reductive. I was commenting that her ratings are substantially at odds with what is said about her on some threads on Mumsnet. That is indisputable.

Her ratings are not substantially at odds with it though, as linked upthread. Also see the polling at the top of this thread and its predecessor. She is the most popular leader when polled.
No-one is forcing you to indulge btw, but its very telling that you won't state a preference.

What is indisputable? Her personal ratings are the highest out of all leaders. Focus groups are strong for her too.

So yes what is said in some posts on mn doesn’t match but it’s more the insults and attack lines that are out of sync.

It would be really interesting to understand who you would vote for and why - at this point. It means zilch, after all right now. But your answer and reasoning for your answer would be informative.

Did you see the results of the recent council elections? The Tories hardly did well. It's not telling at all. It's what that particular poster always asks and then takes the argument off on a tangent. And then usually runs back to your 'not working thread' so you can all comment on how crazy posters are. I'm not playing.

You seem a bit put out, are you on the Starmer thread? Your posting style is familiar.

I don’t see how anyone can say Kemi doing badly against other leaders on most metrics. The only party who can say they’re doing better with votes is Reform.

Yes I did see the council results. I and others are pointing out to you that your claim about Kemi's poll ratings and popularity is demonstrably wrong.
I don't think you're crazy, so I'm not about to run anywhere and say so.
But the question was a simple one - if you don't like Kemi, who would you prefer as PM? Someone has to do it, so who? Its Starmer/Burnham, Kemi, Farage, Ed, or Zach.

Yes! I agree. I'd forgotten about this thread but happily @OpheliaWasntMad reminded me of it this morning.

It does feel a little like an amuse-bouche right now.

I'd forgotten about it to, or I would have posted this week. Kemi's been excellent.
