Yep to both posts. Yours and @KTheGrey

Yeah - the Tories are ok with having women and ethnic minority / religiously diverse leaders where strangely the Labour Party just can’t do it. Blair waiting to convert to Catholicism until after his premiership was an interesting one to watch.

Agree. Her stance on both points you highlight has been excellent. Her response to the anti semitic heckler was superb.
I don't fancy a con/ref coalition, although if needs must. Hopefully 3 years will be enough for most people to realise that Kemi is the only viable choice for the next PM.

Agree about her response to the antisemitic heckler.

She had the courage of her convictions there which was a welcome contrast to politicians trying to sit on the fence so as not to offend anyone.

Im tired of politicians using wishy washy language around antisemitism - which they have been remarkably slow to recognise as just another form of racism.

Yes, agree.
I particularly like that Kemi is quite happy to accept that some will disagree with her. She's not there to crowd please, and she doesn't sit on the fence.

Right, sorry for provocatively asking why you like the leader of your preferred party...I'll try and keep the inflammatory comments down 🤷🏼‍♀️

In Leftworld, if someone doesn’t want to answer a question, it’s always the question that’s at fault 🙃

Just like Starmer always blames the person or people raising an issue rather than admitting there’s an issue.

She's fantastic, a strong, articulate black woman, who wipes the floor with Starmer. She's worked hard and has been patient in building her popularity. I admire her mainly for her balanced thinking which will appeal to the centrist. Let's hope she can turn around the party before the next GE. THAT is what a leader looks like. Come on Kemi.

This. The more I see and hear Kemi the more I like her. I would vote for her.

I’ve been here a very long time. I recognise provocation when I see it and know which posters are practised at it. Upstartled and I have crossed swords many times.

ThatsNicer · 06/06/2026 11:32

Who has 'weaponised' 'trans children'?
Please explain to me.
How can children choose to be trans? That is nonsense, They choose to be trans later usually after puberty.

Upstartled · 06/06/2026 11:33

Cross swords?! I don't know why you are being so dramatic. Surely, you have an opinion on why you think Starmer is well suited to lead the country? I'm interested in your opinion.

How is it provocative to ask your opinion on Keir Starmer?

Have you deemed his name to be some far left (or far right, who knows) dog whistle or something?

I like Kemi’s approach where she just gives a straight answer to a straight question is far more productive to conversation.

Because she already knows my opinion of Starmer.

Kemi isn't stuck in her ways and can answer a question or provide nuance when prompted. She never throws a strop either and isn't put off when faced with lazy stereotyping.

No, I don't. I know you hate reform aand have more tolerance for the conservatives although you still broadly dislike them. But I don't know your opinion on Starmer, it has certainly never come up when we have disagreed about policy. You don't have to answer, obviously, but I am not a mind reader.

BIossomtoes · 06/06/2026 11:47

Anyway, back to Badenoch, after all the thread’s supposed to be about her. I think those of you who approve of her should be genuinely proud of her reaction to Henry Nowak’s murder. Her response has been perfect and she’s risen in my estimation as a result.

Absolutely.
All this talk of labour being multicultural, better for women. To my recollection, they have never had a female leader, or a female pm. I don't think they have any non white pms either? They will have females in the party, and even in senior roles to make it look like they value them, but won't let them lead the party it seems.

Conservatives have had several female PM's, and Sunak as a non white PM. And now have a black women as leader.

Labour are just all talk. And when they elect their next leader, my money is on a white male again.

Yes they might pat themselves on the back for the man not being from North London but diversity for them is a Northern accent, still a white male.

I’m sure Kemi has had extra barriers, insults on here show that, but she’s strong and very successful. It rankles some, good on her.

Labour are regressive. Not business minded people. Kemi is a steely all rounder who is making Labour look even more regressive and certainly sexist. Why they are considered to be proponents of women I don't know. Shabana was left to take questions over Henry Nowak . Probs just as well as Starmer is out of his depth. Burnham won't be different but he will be more illustrative and have presence. Trade unions and back benchers will hold Labour back. The country needs an inspirational leader, forward thinking and not afraid to be controversial.

Their next leader will almost definitely be one of Starmer, Burnham or Streeting so yes - you are right about that!

Whereas the Conservative Party are not talking about replacing Kemi - despite the party is polling badly at the moment. She is the best thing about them at the moment.

Before anyone throws BJ back at me, he had a lot to juggle when he was PM.
