The Guardian is not a news source that can be taken seriously these days. I'm unsurprised they don't like her though.
Interesting you say @Caro7457 that she just says what people want to hear.....I think the total opposite. She often says things that all the others are too afraid to say, which is one of the reasons I like her so much.

Tell me you read the Daily Mail without telling me you read the Daily Mail...

So you think statutory maternity pay is excessive then, dont think the evidenced violence against girls in schools is happening, dont believe in multicultural societies, think autism is a mental health condition🤣 and autistic people have unfair societal benefits, that partygate was overblown….

@Caro7457 'I just wish her PR office would shuffle off and stop trying to create support for her on here with the same old tedious threads'

Ha ha sorry I missed this gem. A shame really that you seem to think anyone supporting KB is by default her 'PR office'. Hilarious .. Bless your little cotton socks - there's a big wide world out there and many people support Kemi Badenoch. And that support if only going to grow in the next few years.

I don't generally read the DM, no. I read a wide range of sources which includes the Guardian and is how I know they can often be safely ignored. Maybe you should branch out?

It's funny, DH and I were talking about her last night because I want him to watch her PM Uncensored interview and I realised it's the first time I've ever felt really enthused about any party leader since I reached voting age.... which is a sad state of affairs because I'm 48 😆.
Also, I think it would be better for Kier to hold on so the GE doesn't come too quickly. I don't want Reform to get in and I think Kemi needs time to win people round, but I think she can do it.

Same. When I saw her talking to a crowd in ? Rotherham, and she said something like 'these are my views, you don't have to agree with them but you have to accept them', I felt it was really refreshing.

Whether people agree with her views, it's undeniable that she is honest. She says what she means and she means what she says. She will say or do something because she feels it is right, not just to win favour and then not follow through. If there was a GE tomorrow then she definitely has my vote.

I do worry about this Makerfield election though. If Burnham gets elected, and then made leader, he suggested he might call an election which risks Reform getting into power, which would be a total disaster. I think Burnham knows that if he waits he is likely to lose the more moderate vote portion to Kemi and a conservative win at the next election, and conservatives tend to hold power for several terms. Whereas if Reform get in they will be out at the following election.

HRTQueen · 06/06/2026 09:54

Nigel Farage was the person often cited by those in the centre and right as talking common sense increasingly this has been Kemi Badenoch

that KM is gaining popularity I feel is a good thing and she is calling out Farage many of his voters will tire of him popping off to the states to line his own pockets and I hope the Tories win back a lot of their Reform Voters

I have been impressed by her recently I won’t be voting for her but feel she has been the best Tory leader for a while and that is good for UK politics

The Tories are losing support, not gaining it, i believe they are now behind Labour in some polling.

For me, Kemi was in Govt for 5 years, she did nor talked about any of things she does now.
She supported defence cuts, police cuts, even went into the last GE wanting to reduce our infantry.

I also don't like the way she will always attack the Govt, never ever looks at any cross party agreement.

Then its the lies she tells, the most recent was one on "50% of new social housing will go to migrants"

A total distortion of the figures.

Yes agree about KB (obviously)..

Ref the Burnham / Makerfield fiasco - I think Labour have just repeated their G&D failure and they are letting reform win again. Idiotic. The Makerfield electorate do not like being manipulated by Burnham and Labour in the way they behaved - Burnham has shown utter contempt for the people of Makerfield, using them to try and pave a path to Westminster. Sorry little man. But sorry even more when Reform win there. But as you say - they will be out next time.

I think it’s Starmer battling for PR rn. He’s about to be ousted it’s that bad. The dedicated posters on here can’t even fix it, they make it worse not better.

Kemi polls above all the other leaders. That’s probably why some get so rankled.

This! She will be ousted eventually.

If people want to vote for Reform they’ll vote for Reform. The only way people will go back to voting conservative is when it returns to the way it was before the Bullingdon Club took over and KB is not that. She’s so unprofessional, amateur
and frankly unpleasant. Her continuous verbal screw ups which are there for all to see forever are deeply concerning.

How can Starmer be doing so much worse when you describe Kemi as such?

He’s really failing, his own party don’t want him.

You must be watching and reading some twisted stuff to have these views. She is doing very well.

She is an ableist, ill informed politician with deeply unpleasant views who consistently tries to whip up hate. Her anti women views citing statutory maternity pay as excessive and inaccurate claims re violence against women are concerning. Her ableist, inaccurate and ignorant comments re the autistic community were appalling and also deeply concerning. She has been accused of bullying and traumatising staff and just says what she thinks her far right supporters want to hear with little thought ie Faragelite. I think that’s plenty of pretty weight criticism don’t you. I just wish her PR office would shuffle off and stop trying to create support for her on here with the same old tedious threads.

Don’t be so ridiculous. She is not ‘ableist’ or anti women or any of those things.

You have dug up a load of hit pieces written by people with a clear aim of discrediting her, regardless of the massive amount of pretzelling and deliberate misrepresentation of her actual points that requires. That first article is absolutely desperate.

I read the article about the bullying allegations. The 3 people making claims of bullying didn’t even bother to make a formal complaint.

Given the propensity for the many activists now in the civil service to lie and bully, and given the lack of even a formal complaint being submitted, I’m going to assume it was sour grapes by people who were bad at their jobs and didn’t like Kemi asking them to do their jobs properly.

From the article you linked.

A spokesperson for Badenoch said the allegations were “completely false and a flagrant smear”. They confirmed that the business secretary “had to let go of” some senior officials and suggested she had found examples of “underperformance, complaints and bad behaviour” within her department. They added that she has “high standards and expectations”.

Be honest, present the things she actually said or did, full quotes - (not the carefully edited soundbites deliberately designed to mislead) and tell us what your problem is with what she said. I’m all ears.

Even his own backbenchers are knifing him in the back. Hell, even the cabinet, just look at their messages with their pal, the lord of darkness - currently helping police with enquires - Mandelson.

It comes to something when Blair, Blundell and Straw feel compelled to pull this new bunch back from their ideological death spiral in an attempt to tether them to reality.

She’s polling higher than your party’s leader. And if you are one of the few still backing Starmer you are really in the minority.

Focus groups come back far more positive for Kemi than Starmer. It’s pretty much you left flailing around with insults.

He’ll go, Kemi will stay and it will be good to see.
