Everything about "zack Polanski" is fake - he was born David Paulden. He was never a "spokesman" for the Red Cross. He scammed women with fake hypnotism, He is a actor with a completely invented persona, he's no politician, he's a snake oil salesman. How can anyone vote for him?

He chose the name Zack from a novel.

Yes, the evacuee Zack from Goodnight Mr Tom. He didn't want to be associated with having the same first name as his abusive stepfather. Seems a better reason than a Polish man changing his name to sound more Hebrew, for example, IMO.

He chose the name Zack from a novel.

And he chose Polanski because...

WilfredsPies · 06/05/2026 20:19

I think he’s on a level with Farage in terms of his inability to form any sensible workable policies that will actually benefit the UK and in promoting his own self interests. It deeply worries me that people will vote for him as the only other alternative to Reform.

summerchild82 · 06/05/2026 20:20

TemperanceWest · 06/05/2026 20:17

And he chose Polanski because...

It was his paternal Jewish name that they felt the need to change due to fears about Antisemitism upon arriving here from Eastern Europe. He decided to reclaim it as a proud Jewish man.

Exactly. But clav skated over that part.

He is a fool. But he has got the membership up. If the Greens do well tomorrow then just wait until the media start up with looking into his past.

They have been doing that already.

Sorry, I'm very tired tonight!! Do you know what, I'm going to wish everyone a good evening, get some sleep and be up bright and early to vote for our fantastic local Green candidate! Peace out all :)

I'm not even in the UK and I know more about the green party than I do any political party or leader in my own country from the sheer amount of threads on him and his party. There is something like 12 threads with them name checked in the title in the last week (all with a similar op)

Edited

I was going to say the same

Twiglets1 · 06/05/2026 18:44

You've never seen threads about Farage?

No, but I’ve seen Polanski ones popping up regularly recently. Also I won’t be voting Green or reform tomorrow- would be more likely to vote Green though

Daisylove1 · 06/05/2026 20:49

MyLimeGuide · 06/05/2026 18:53

Its not just that though is it. Hes extreme hard left with woke Bullshit. Extremely dangerous when in the hands of the vote of the simple minded brit.

I think it’s more dangerous to say ‘Hitler was right’

Daisylove1 · 06/05/2026 20:52

BackToLurk · 06/05/2026 19:53

What ‘forces’ are at work.

Oh come on. The 1% Polanski wants to (rightly) tax!

ChillingWithMySnowmies · 06/05/2026 20:53

shouldntmattermilk · 06/05/2026 16:46

But interestingly Farage will do anything to avoid him. Refuse to debate him and cancelled an appearance so that he didn’t have to be face to face with him.

because Polanski is ethnically jewish, from a family who fled poland, and Farage is a Nazi.

I’m not personally voting Green tomorrow- our local independent does a great job, but I do hope the greens make gains. Whatever way it goes, I’m expecting massive losses for Labour- very interesting times indeed.

I've just checked - the character's name is Zach rather than Zack - so perhaps Polanski is lying about the origin.

He told the Guardian in an interview in February that his first gay kiss/snog was in a nightclub aged 14 with a young Muslim man called Jihad. What's the betting that claim is fictitious as well?

Clavinova · 06/05/2026 20:57

TemperanceWest · 06/05/2026 20:22

I was comparing Zack with Ted and Boris.

CatusFlatus · 06/05/2026 20:58

PurpleLovecats · 06/05/2026 16:38

And Farage is oh so genuine?

Who's talking about Farage? This thread is about ZP.

his reasons for choosing his first name are irrelevant. He changed his name to disassociate from his Stepfather who is also called David. You could change yours to Edith if you wanted, the reasons are yours alone.

Polanski is his family name, if you look into his history, his family is originally Latvian, fled to Poland because of the Pogroms, then had to flee to the UK because of Hitler, where they changed their name to Pauldon. He is jewish and has every right to reclaim his family surname.

There have often been Farage threads.

Plus it's not like the only 2 choices are Green or Reform.

CatusFlatus · 06/05/2026 20:58

Well presumably if you don’t like ZP then you need to consider alternatives. One of those would be NF. I know who I would prefer!

But I hate the day before elections on places like mumsnet as all these posts pop up about politics and you know they’re being carefully posted with an agenda.

Polanski is his family name

I haven't disputed that.

Nevertheless, not the same as using your middle name though - as per Ted and Boris. The previous poster needed better comparisons.

must think we were all born yesterday

That was my first thought when I read that Polanski claimed his first gay snog was with a young Muslim man called Jihad.

So which part don't you believe and why?

The whole scenario is deliberately provocative.

But this is a discussion about ZP? Not a comparison to other unpopular politicians.
