Putin would agree with you that we should stop spending money on bombs, as should France, Germany and Ukraine.

My views have nothing to do with Putin. Hth

I like that she tells you what her position is and that's it, she knows you might not agree with it and you might not like it but she's not going to hand wring or flip flop or fumble around trying to appease to you because she wants to try and please everyone.

I think she's well aware that no, you can't please everyone and trying to do that is a losing battle. You're too busy putting out fires and fannying around with apologies and platitudes and u-turns to do anything constructive.

It's very straightforward, very "this is my position, so if you vote for us this is what you get, and if you don't like it tough shit"

You might abhor Tories in general, but you can't dislike a good bit of no nonsense.

Except for example when she flip flopped on support for Trump's war in Iran and drilling for oil in the North Sea?

Yep, I don't want either one of them in ta muchly! Greens and Reform are literally 2 cheeks of the same arse. One far left, and the other far right. Nooooooooooooooo!

They are metaphorically two cheeks of the same arse.

Not literally. That would be weird.

I think she’s ace!

I don’t agree with everything she’s ever said but does anyone ever agree with everything someone says? Why are people on here bringing up one or two things she’s said (that need challenging btw) and declaring her an enemy to women?

Shes strong, decisive and unlike Farage, Starmer and particularly (Dave the ick) Polanski, not an embarrassment to the country! I think she’d be a great prime minister.

Sadly the racist misogynists in the Green and Labour parties would hate to see a black woman in power though. If you’re not a white penis person, the left don’t want to know.

Yes 100% agree

EasternStandard · 05/05/2026 14:38

itsnotallaboutyouyousee · 05/05/2026 14:32

Yes sure what with Rishi and Kemi - racists! Then what with Margaret, Theresa, Liz, and Kemi - Sexist misogynists!

Tell me - when did the Labour Party have a person of colour and or a woman as party leader?

Edited

They haven’t. And Starmer wouldn’t give way to anyone who was.

Eskarina1 · 05/05/2026 14:38

I feel about her how I feel about Thatcher. I fundamentally disagree with almost every political and moral principle she has but I think she actually has principles and will work hard to deliver them. Rather like Thatcher functioning of 5 hours sleep during the Falklands war vs Johnsons oops was there a Cobra meeting I was on holiday. KB would, I'm sure, show up and work hard.

Her comments about not seeing colour are infuriating because systematic racism has been proven in multiple areas of public life (maternal health care for example) and they need to be addressed.

If the choice was between KB or Farage or Rupert Lowe she would get my vote, because I think she'd actually be serious about running the country, rather than asset strip it.

"We’re taking from one group of people and giving to another. This, in my view, is excessive.

"Businesses are closing, businesses are not starting in the UK, because they say that the burden of regulation is too high."

So she backtracked when challenged and said it again in more words?

She's no friend to women.

I don't fancy another 14 years of austerity tbh.

You're under the impression that a party with an ethnic minority leader cannot be racist. Wrong!
The most racial gaslighting I have witnessed, was perpetrated by the Tory Party with an ethnically diverse cabinet.
It was a blatant representation of - I can't be racist, I have black and brown friends.
See the disastrous Liz beating Rishi for leadership, though Rishi was the assumed favourite and far superior candidate.

Great post, I agree

Where I live, come the GE, I might have to vote Tory to keep the Reform candidate out. FFS!

Hallowedturf · 05/05/2026 14:42

Labour MPs are considering writing an open letter to Sir Keir Starmer to demand his resignation after this week’s local elections.

A group of backbenchers are reportedly sounding out support to challenge the Prime Minister on Thursday.

Mankini · 05/05/2026 14:47

Those Labour MPs need to give their head a wobble. This is a country, not I'm A Celebrity.

JollyDenimSeal · 05/05/2026 14:49

ProudAmberTurtle · 05/05/2026 14:18

That's simply not true.

It was a time when every Premier League football team had to have 'Black Lives Matter' instead of their names on their shirts and there was political capital to exploit, particularly for black women. Think of Dawn Butler saying she was targeted for racism by the police because her car was stopped and how big a story that became.

Kemi had the guts to speak in parliament about it and say we need to focus on people's characters, not the colour of their skin.

There's a reason why the Black Lives Matter movement started. As far as I'm aware it was because of the shooting of Treyvon Martin. Maybe go and do some research as to how BAME people are treated by police or the proportion of BAME people incarcerated compared to others and you might see why sports people chose to take the knee and have Black Lives Matter on their shirts

Chris Adler. Sarah Reed. Read their stories. Chris died in police custody in the UK and no one was ever brought to justice. I have a friend who's son was stopped by police because he has a sports car that he bought and paid for - he's Black. She told me that she was almost arrested after a night out - she stood in the street. Nothing more

Should Butler not have spoken about this? Should we all just focus on "characteristics" rather than out and out racism

Iain Livingstone who is the ex chief constable of police Scotland said that his officers were institutionally misogynist and racist.

You're trying to suggest that Butler should not have spoken out after being targeted by police? What should she have done?

Colour me a white penis person, because I don't believe this black woman is 'politically' different to the white penis people.
She did nothing I'm aware of to tackle structural inequalities as Minister of W&E.
And let's not forget her woeful response to the Dianne Abbott murder threat.
I can assure you, the racists misogynist love Ms Badenoch very much.

What would they use in replacement? Rayner? Lammy? Doesn't bear thinking of.

JollyDenimSeal · 05/05/2026 14:51

Anas Sarwar is party leader in Scotland (Labour). Humza Yousef was leader of the SNP.

ArtyFartyCrafts · 05/05/2026 14:51

I’m a floating voter and will vote for the candidate I feel is the best at the time regardless of what party they represent. I have previously voted conservative, labour and Liberal Democrat’s in other elections.

I will be voting conservative on Thursday in our local elections mainly because the only counsellor that is visibly working hard and consistently for the local community is the conservative one. She engages with the local community in a way I’ve rarely seen in the past, is quick to respond to local issues and seems quite helpful. I’ve never heard of, seen or been aware of anything useful any of the other candidates have done or plan to do so they won’t be getting my vote.

👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾.

And of course we see when and how those minority MPs are wheeled and what items specifically they have them speak on.

SkyLark79 · 05/05/2026 14:54

I never have voted Tory either. Come from a left wing family. However. I really do like Kemi increasingly, she’s not afraid to stick to her principles and think she may be our only hope to get the country back on track. Keir Starmer’s government seem intent on ruining everyone from OAP’s to taking jobs from young people, I have many friends with highly successful businesses now barely able to make ends meet under Rachel’s tax system.

if she gets in at the next election, she’ll have a hell or a job putting the country back together again, and in the meantime let’s hope to god there’s not another lock down. There’s no way this government would look after working families on furlough. Ironic really, as it was essentially a left wing policy from Rishi.

Kemi isn’t ’wheeled out’ she’s leading a party.

And getting higher ratings than all the other men. As much as that annoys some, especially when slurs are used to denigrate.

Was it the bit where she promised to start drilling for oil in the North Sea and that the revenue from it would go directly to cutting all our fuel bills? And then the person interviewing her pointed out this wasn't true and she agreed it wasn't?

Exactly. It takes years to drill and bring oil from new fields to market. Anyone proposing drilling as the solution often deliberately avoids mentioning that oil is sold on the international market. We can’t set a UK-specific price, which means we will always remain vulnerable to global market price and shocks and will not bring prices down.

Same. Especially the everyone is suspicious and loves Starmer really posters.

How weird that people are getting excited about MN posters’ responses. There is a bigger world out there!
