So Tori/Labour are 2 cheeks of the same coin then?
What's the point of praising the leader of a shit party? They are all brave and sarcastic while in opposition.

We KNOW Starmer is useless.

We only "suspect" Kemi may be useless.

There's a difference.

Yes, two cheeks of the same arse, but we really don't want any more Starmer. Worth a risk to give someone else a chance.

EasternStandard · 05/05/2026 14:29

Yeh it’s obvious on that last point. I hope she does it despite them.

I'm left wing. I don't think it helps to perpetuate myths. I couldn't care less if a Black woman was PM as long as they aligned with my views - which she doesn't

I'm not a racist and I absolutely applaud the fact that more women are in politics. My last MP was female. My current one is. My current MSP is female and I campaigned for them both several times

Let's keep sweeping generalisations out of this

JHound · 05/05/2026 14:53

👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾.

And of course we see when and how those minority MPs are wheeled and what items specifically they have them speak on.

Naturally! That's usually when they go up in the polls as well, so I'm keeping my powder dry between now and the next GE.
It will be an interesting race between Reform, Conservative and Labour all trying to 'outdo' each other.

Why suspect it for Kemi? She’s managed to get from least preferred to most liked against a party that took a beating. That takes some strength and ability.

The Tories are not going to get in next time if Labour don't. Farage will or Restore Britain (I support neither for clarification). They had 14 years and voters had enough of them.

Id personally drop dead before I vote Tory

Dweetfidilove · 05/05/2026 15:03

BunfightBetty · 05/05/2026 14:56

Polanski's trying to pull that very stunt at the moment.

They're all popularity prostitutes, so can all be accused of playing to a demographic.

Her rating is still negative. Just less than others.

Greenbather · 05/05/2026 15:04

I can't stand her, she's a bit odd (low energy weirdo, anyone?) and has had an empathy bypass.

TheLandlordsAreFrowning · 05/05/2026 15:04

EasternStandard · 05/05/2026 14:38

They haven’t. And Starmer wouldn’t give way to anyone who was.

Wow. That is a strong statement. I think you're wrong. I haven't seen evidence that Starmer persoonally is racist or sexist He was very rude to Liz S-R but apologised.

Walkyrie · 05/05/2026 15:04

JollyDenimSeal · 05/05/2026 14:21

I personally don't think stop spending money on bombs is such a bad thing. I'm also not an abolitiionist but locking everyone up and throwing away the key for certain crimes isn't the answer. There are lots of reasons why people offend and there are a number of measures offered to offenders to divert them away from prison

I don't vote Green but I can see why they've picked up popularity

(Kids shouldn't be starving in the UK in 2026).

Which kids are starving? When was the last time you saw an emaciated child?

This sounds familiar. This ‘low energy weirdo’ attack.

It’s old hat now, Starmer is in the pits.

Mankini · 05/05/2026 14:47

Those Labour MPs need to give their head a wobble. This is a country, not I'm A Celebrity.

I think the head wobbling needed to happen when they faced down Starmer and Reeves over the welfare reform bill last year….

Greenbather · 05/05/2026 15:06

I thought this thread was about the glorious Kemi?

alteredimage · 05/05/2026 15:06

She was very good when she was Minster for Women/Equalities. She absolutely got it..

The "someone else"'s party had 14 years to fix things. Tori voters will never forgive them. So not happening.

TicketsAgain · 05/05/2026 14:59

How weird that people are getting excited about MN posters’ responses. There is a bigger world out there!

And yet, here we are.

Walkyrie · 05/05/2026 15:04

Are you actually joking? You think that kids don't live in poverty in the UK in 2026? You're the person that made a joke about starving kids - not me. My goodness. I'm actually cringing for you

Parsley4321 · 05/05/2026 15:07

She’s great properly intelligent and able to hold her own team Kemi

I recognise a few that use that line, it’s useful to know it’s still limping on. Even when ratings show she’s beating the others.

Call it Starmer’s magnetism.

Besides, there is an elephant in the room, in the shape of Thursday’s local elections, and the devolved elections…

Epidote · 05/05/2026 15:09

MabelRoyds · 05/05/2026 12:39

It’s funny how people stick to “ party politics” as if the parties were all radically different, when actually it’s just that some are palpably stupid and others just incompetent.

Agree

Carandache18 · 05/05/2026 15:09

Polanski thinks he's Zelensky.
Reform are louts.
It's going to be Labour/Tory, it always is, and Starmer is just flailing about. I'm so disappointed. Wait 14 years and Starmer turns up is beyond a joke.

Sartre · 05/05/2026 15:10

It’s ok to agree with an MP’s views on some things and not others, it’s also perfectly ok and normal to agree with a party’s policies even if you don’t like the party as a whole.

I’ve never voted conservative either but I don’t mind Rory Stewart, I’m also currently reading Nick Gibb’s book on education. David Willets was alright too.

TicketsAgain · 05/05/2026 15:11

Hallowedturf · 05/05/2026 15:06

And yet, here we are.

If you don’t understand, I am referring to those who get so triumphant about ‘wins’ (regardless of party) on MN. Is just an online forum. I get second hand embarrassment reading about people crowing over victories here, whether it’s Tory, Labour or Reform!

cupfinalchaos · 05/05/2026 15:11

Verv · 05/05/2026 13:10

I think she's excellent and at the moment the Conservatives are the only party I'm considering voting for.

Ditto.
