Universities have been told to publish data on antisemitic incidents on campuses as the head of the body that represents UK vice-chancellors said there was a serious problem with anti-Jewish prejudice among students.

Sir Keir Starmer on Tuesday said he expected universities “to publish the scale of the problem” after talks in Downing Street to discuss recent attacks, including the stabbing of two Jewish men in the Golders Green area of north London last week.

What are we talking? Round numbers?

Hit me.

@JollyDenimSeal

Ok, I am guessing the square root of FA.

Am I right?

I don't do marches, mainly because we don't have many locally. We prefer to turn out for health initiatives and charity fundraisers. But when I have encountered pro-Palestinian activists in my local city centre and decline to agree with them, I have been shouted at. Shame on you. To which my response is "Shame on you" for being taken in by a repressive, anti-liberal, homophobic bunch of control freaks who are as bonkers as the Wee Frees. Religion driven control is all drivel. Anyone who buys the biscuit is a fool.

I don't march for Palestine because of the greens. I don't vote green. I live in Scotland and the greens don't have a huge presence here. I do it for my friend Saeeed who was an asylum seeker and was told by the Israeli forces if he ever returned he would be shot dead. Even when he got asylum he was so scared of being sent back - he disappeared

There are 6 million or so Muslims in the UK and less than 300,000 Jews. Yet the risk of antisemitic attacks are higher

The figures and statistics don't suggest that Muslims are less likely to be attacked. 45% of the most recently recorded hate crimes motivated by religion have been targeted at Muslims.
https://www.gov.uk/government/speeches/combatting-anti-muslim-hatred-uk-statement-to-the-osce

And last year from July 2025 to October 2025 there were 25 attacks on UK mosques, including an arson attack in Peacehaven and a petrol bomb in Belfast.

I don't think it's helpful to try and minimise the dangers of anti Muslim hate. We can show support for victims of racism in both communities without trying to deligitimise the discrimination faced by one or the other.

James Ford

Combatting Anti Muslim Hatred: UK statement to the OSCE

Deputy Ambassador James Ford reaffirms the UK’s commitment to tackling anti Muslim hatred and promoting tolerance and non-discrimination and the enjoyment of human rights for all.

But we are, despite not having voted in favour of it, a dispersal area, and I see almost daily, one young man wandering around our beautiful valley. He's always alone. I feel terribly sorry for him too as he appears to be a fish completely out of water, without an environment.

Papyrophile · 05/05/2026 21:36

@JollyDenimSeal , he probably should have moved to Plymouth. The West End looks like Damascus. With Janners, who are quite wild, it sounds like a helluva social cocktail. Just not one I want to live in.

Anyway, back to the point of the thread. I’ve found Kemi consistently impressive. She was on top of her brief when she was women and equalities minister and she’s really
grown in stature as leader of the opposition.

she’s got principles and seem to stand by them rather than flip flopping.

Principles!😆

How was saying maternity pay is excessive being on top of her brief? It’s anti maternity rights and anti women.

Agrumpyknitter · 05/05/2026 21:41

The Tories (of which KB was part of the cabinet) had many many years to put things right. They didn’t and instead stuck their noses in the trough and plundered the country with their rich buddies. Labour has inherited a broken country that is, sadly, past the point of no return. It’s all talk - really don’t believe the hype.

Yes exactly. Kemi wanted to go to war with Iran, then flip flopped back into denying that she ever said she wanted to go to war with Iran.
she was useless in her roles as Minister for women and equalities.
Kemi recently said we have too much maternity benefits in this country.
I admire her for her thick skin though. I have seen Kier Starmer wipe the floor with her so many times during PMQs that I don’t know how she can show her face again.

Her last government gave us:
1.190’000 excess deaths due to austerity measures
2.lower health expectancy back to 2014 levels again due to austerity. This is the amount of time we can expect to live without a chronic illness.
3.higher mortgage rates we have to thank liz truss for that one and for nearly tanking our pensions thanks to her hubris.
4.widespread use of foodbanks. Last Labour govt in 2013 there were 680 foodbanks. End of the last Tory govt there were 2881 approx. We have become a foodbank nation. We have had a 12 percent decrease in emergency food parcels since labour came into power but the number is still too high in my opinion.

This and she thought we should be bombing Iraq. if she lasts until the next election how do we know she will be the Leader of the Party given how many they had in the last few years

Papyrophile · 05/05/2026 21:48

If the general public took more responsibility for their own personal health, by taking exercise, learning to cook from scratch and eating better instead of ordering another takeaway meal, we would eradicate a significant part of the problem. And we'd have fewer health problems too.

MyLimeGuide · 05/05/2026 21:49

GingerRhubarb · 05/05/2026 21:00

This! Except I think she would as she has no policies!!!

She talks about her politicies a lot though!! I think you are just making stuff up because you have a personal dislike for the lady.

No she doesn’t. She justifies not having policies! It’s careful Conservatism apparantly. No Kemi it’s simply having no policies and no tools other than dissing the opposition. Dull and ineffective.

Just to say sorry I provided a link earlier that was behind a paywall.

Kemi: “I would say to Labour MPs, we are in this war whether they like it or not. What is the prime minister waiting for?”

Thats exactly what kier does!! Isn't he still banging on about 'oh we had 14 years of the tories to make up for' every time something goes wrong!! He got rid of Boris due to his constant "dull" witch huntery and now, karma is giving it all back to him! Ha.

Bertiebiscuit · 05/05/2026 22:07

Totally agree. She's probably the only Politician i can bear to listen to, she's got no time for the trans nonsense, she knows exactly what a woman is and that we need single sex spaces, goddess love her. And she stands up to the useless spineless blokes like Starmer. I may break the habit of a lifetime and vote Tory

You did provide a link, thank you.
But the link does not support your claim that Kemi wanted to join the war. She was calling for greater defence of our airbases.
Her position has been consistent, unlike Starmer. Posting that she wanted to join the war is misinformation (possible disinformation).

Oh come on I think not. Her father was a doctor and her mother a professor. Reports indicate her family was part of the local elite, living in the middle-class area of Surulere, with her father's clinic treating oil company employees.

She knows most Britons people hear “Nigeria” and think “poverty” so she can spin all kinds of BS knowing people will lap it up.

Bertiebiscuit · 05/05/2026 22:32

Never trust anyone who says men can be women.

YourShyLion · 05/05/2026 22:34

That's beyond unreasonable, she's a gibbering idiot who can barely string two words together sensibly never mind an entire sentence!

Well let's see what the evidence shows and whether KB - on the spot - can 'string two words together'.
