Balls

Which part is “balls”? For example, it is true that in Islamic states such as the UAE the Muslim Brotherhood and the IRGC are banned.

Well let's see what the evidence shows and whether KB - on the spot - can 'string two words together'.

spectator.com/article/watch-kemi-badenoch-lays-into-pro-palestine-heckler/

Excellent clip! 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Moral clarity, well articulated.

JollyDenimSeal · 05/05/2026 23:30

Im not a fan of Polanski but apparently he drives me to march for Palestine which I've not done since 2022 because of various reasons.

JollyDenimSeal · 05/05/2026 23:34

I don't care if she can string two sentences together. The Tory Party said austerity was going to be tough but necessary. That was in 2010. Does Kemi choose between heating and eating. Did she sit with her heating off for two years like I did living on 317 quid a month on UC because it was one or the other. Did she fuck

JollyDenimSeal · 05/05/2026 23:40

Oh and Rishi did the UC cost of living uplift and then stopped it and then encouraged people to go out and eat again when it wasn't safe

Tory MPs partied when people were dying. The rules didn't apply to them apparently.
Have people forgotten this? My mums neighbours friend died in the first wave. She worked in a testing centre

Has she called that out? Did she resign or cross the floor because of Johnson and Hancock? Did any of them care?

JollyDenimSeal · 05/05/2026 23:43

But she's a "nice eloquent Tory" and she's said a couple of things people can relate to and she once worked in McDonald's. No bother. The bar is very low it seems

TempestTost · 06/05/2026 01:55

JHound · 05/05/2026 14:31

It is true. She’s a Shield and she wields that especially effectively. If she was white it maybe risky but as a black woman in conservative politics absolutely not. It would be far riskier for to say unequivocally blm (small letters) given her voter base.

And she is very much aware of that.

Edited

Jfc. You know calling her that is the same as calling her an uncle Tom. Between that and the Enoch comment that is not a good look

SlumChum · 05/05/2026 13:02

Politically I am against nearly everything she says, but you have to hand it to her, she was given a poison chalice by a party that considered her a placeholder. So if she's actually turning that around good for her and I hope she doesn't win 🤣

Perfectly put! I agree! She's impressive and is ironing out her more obvious glitches. I strongly dislike her views, however.

TempestTost · 06/05/2026 02:50

GingerRhubarb · 05/05/2026 21:36

Principles!😆

How was saying maternity pay is excessive being on top of her brief? It’s anti maternity rights and anti women.

Come on, did you even read what she said?
She said that maternity leave and pay was important for women and had been important for her.

She also said that it was a problem for business - that the cost was burdensome, and threatened their viability.

It's totally possible for both of these things to be true. The fact that you like the idea of maternity leave does not mean that the policy approach to it is effective.

The substance of her comment was that while women need support to care of or their babies, making small businesses non viable is not a useful way to accomplish that. For one thing, if they fail they surely are not going to pay the taxes for maternity provision.

She disagrees with statutory maternity pay which is there to protect women!

www.theguardian.com/money/2024/sep/29/maternity-pay-is-excessive-says-tory-leadership-hopeful-kemi-badenoch

Wow so you agree with her that if you are unlucky enough to work for a small business you shouldn’t get statutory maternity pay! Words fail me.

Let battle recommence.

GingerRhubarb · 06/05/2026 06:35

She wants to make the Tories into Reform and attract the deserting members leaving for Reform. Unfortunately we already have a Reform party.

Labour are meanwhile being book-ended by Reform and the Greens.

Not by policy they aren’t.

The Tories have an anti feminist, ableist , zero policy Reform lite leader. They will never get into power under her.

What you wish for is academic.

In any event, perhaps you should focus on the dual threat posed to Labour by Reform and the Greens.

Not long to wait.

Tick tock.

That’s the whole point though. She’s not afraid of people disagreeing with her. She won’t be silenced by insults and shouty rhetoric. She is principled and thoughtful. It’s refreshing in our politics.

I hope they don’t tear her down and that she helps to bring back healthy debate to our democracy.

It’s not about what I wish for, they just won’t , it’s as clear as day. They have never been so unpopular as they have whilst under her leadership.

There will be a lot of tick ticking until the next general election. You tick tock away if it makes you happy.

Conservatives only worry about getting into power, they are at their most unpopular that they have ever been and are being decimated under her. So your Tory HQ polls are a little pointless.

A trifle obsessed with the Tories, no?

Wrong.

HRTQueen · 06/05/2026 07:48

I though polls had showed an increase in popularity for the Tories which I believe is good news

I hope they do well this week along with the Lib Dems as I know Labour will not

and any less votes for Reform and the Greens is a positive as both parties are trading off people’s prejudice
