Ok shall we make up a table of Tory, Reform and Labour errors and omissions and compare?

Not that we’d have enough space for either Reform of the Tories from day 1 under Cameron before we even got on to Brexit and Boris.

You know, it’s funny (it’s not).

The Tories lost the GE - Labour is in government, and in the space of less than two years have presided over more u-turns and policy/vetting failures than the Tories did in 14 years (pandemic and Brexit aside).

People didn’t elect a Labour government - they elected a bunch of hopeless back benchers in hock to their constituents. That’s where the real power lies.

The UK has become a welfare state, and many voters have had enough. You will not have long to find out.

Labour MPs are considering writing an open letter to Sir Keir Starmer to demand his resignation after this week’s local elections.

A group of backbenchers are reportedly sounding out support to challenge the Prime Minister on Thursday.

And just how do you know that?

Don't tell me - you read it on social media or the press.

From the same source who scooped Rayner’s tax fiddling.

So - it’s reliable.

northernspanishlass · 05/05/2026 18:23

Yes she is getting really bold and straight talking. No waffke waffle like her predecessor. Its great she is standing up for our jewish communities.

GingerRhubarb · 05/05/2026 18:23

Violetparis · 05/05/2026 18:20

She impresses me on the 2 points I highlighted.

Most people would stand up for Jewish and Muslim communities suffering hate crimes, why does she need a medal for that? We should also stand up for the right to peacefully protest against Israeli atrocities .

JollyDenimSeal · 05/05/2026 18:24

I'm not a Labour voter and I don't vote Tory either but oddly enough every party who has leafleted me over the Scottish elections have promised to lower my energy bills. Isn't that brilliant. I'll judge Badenoch by her record if she ever gets into power - not by anything she's saying just now

This is the same party that wanted to send people to Rwanda - and it was declared unlawful. If people think that Badenoch cares about the ordinary working person - I doubt it. Farage doesn't either

Lots of politicians support single sex spaces as well - some prominent Labour MPs do.

It's passionate here tonight 😂 Kemi must have hit a nerve.

What she did was clever. Rather than making a bland statement like, "we support our Jewish population," she was seen calmly debating a 'free palestine' activist. Like me, many people will have enjoyed seeing the composed and striking Kemi put the zealous protester in its place.

Edited

How Kemi Badenoch handled that encounter was pleasing. It demonstrated the importance of engaging in civilised debate rather than relying on the scripted soundbites typical of repetitive single-issue, special-interest activists.

We're not talking about Muslims here.

Oh, they won't let actual facts get in the way of a bit of Labour spin, @WaffleBomb.

☝️This.

Starmer got to the same place as Kemi, after dithering and pissing if the US. Not much point beyond virtue signalling to the faithful.

This thread is asking whether Kemi is talking sense. This is a quick read that tells everyone about her position on the Iran war:

A clever person knows their limitations … Kemi believes she has none | John Crace | The Guardian

Can you provide any actual evidence that Kemi called for the UK to join the war? Other than the points I've already put to you about airbases and catching arrows?
A John Crace opinion piece isn't evidence of what you are saying.

She’s rating above others, it’s getting people going. All good, she can keep going as some others drop behind.

The evidence seems to be that no, they won’t. Particularly for Jews.

Are you really that gullible?

hellotappy · 05/05/2026 18:28

What the green party leader did last week and how he has jumped on the populist bandwagon is a very important and regrettable turn in British politics. It was disgusting and uncouth behaviour. Jewish people in the Uk are being hounded and killed, their communities attacked, we all know who's behind these atrocities (!) and how these criminals feel about the Palestine issue.

There was similar to this re Rayner and then she did go. Let’s see, Thursday might get them off the pot.

Really? Come now.

StarlightRobot · 05/05/2026 18:29

I think she’s great and she has my full support. She’s not perfect but has grown immensely in her role and I think she has great potential to be an excellent PM.

Vaxtable · 05/05/2026 18:35

Timetakesacigarette · 05/05/2026 12:38

The Tories (of which KB was part of the cabinet) had many many years to put things right. They didn’t and instead stuck their noses in the trough and plundered the country with their rich buddies. Labour has inherited a broken country that is, sadly, past the point of no return. It’s all talk - really don’t believe the hype.

@Timetakesacigarette

you do realise that the last Labour Government bankrupted the country? And this one is well onto the same way.

Dear Gordon Brown sold all the gold, and started grabbing pensions funds

No the Tory’s didn’t do a good job, but then they had nothing to work with really hence austerity, which any future government will need to consider because of Rachel and her inability to be a good chancellor (not sure what she has on Keir but there must be something she should have gone a long time ago)

as to noses in the trough, are you seriously telling me Labour ( and indeed other parties) don’t do the same? Mrs S and her dresses? Remember that?

All parties are the same, all full of career MPs who have never held down a job in the real world
