Anyone with two brain cells to rub together should have had Starmer pegged as a greasy social climber - he referred to Corbyn as his friend and then stabbed him in the back. Folk wonder why Scotland turned their back on Labour in 2015 -we call them red tories up here. Up here they form councils with the Tories to lock the Snp out and I'm aware that the Snp did have an agreement with the Tory party in at least one council before anyone points it out

I voted Labour till I couldn't anymore but I'm not running around going - yes, Reform will fix everything - because they won't.

I'm not an snp member. I was on and off for a while but not now - but I'll be voting for them on Thursday. Oh and if people don't vote - that's how parties you don't want get in. Because of political apathy

And one thing I really do hope if the Tories ever get near power again is that they restore the subsides to places like the open university. I did my degree for nothing -thanks to the Scottish government because I'm poor. And even if someone isn't poor in Scotland and self funds an Ou degree will cost around 8k
Fees are subsidised in Wales and NI too
Down south it's around 24k.

The evidence seems to be that no, they won’t. Particularly for Jews.

Badenoch isn’t the only politician to do so, Starmer had too. What support is given to Muslim communities who suffer from higher numbers of hate crimes?

JollyDenimSeal · 05/05/2026 18:36

Hallowedturf · 05/05/2026 18:31

How odd, but if you say so….

You were the person who mentioned welfare state. Not me. Hth

MulberryBrandy · 05/05/2026 18:31

"I would say to Labour MPs, we are in this war whether they like it or not. What is the prime minister waiting for?" she added. (Kemi Badenoch)**

So you can't provide evidence of your claim that she called for UK to join the war? Just that she called for stronger defence of our airbases after they were attacked.
Thanks for clarifying.

Yes, yes - the welfare state - it’s out of control and requires fundamental reform.

@Timetakesacigarette

you do realise that the last Labour Government bankrupted the country? And this one is well onto the same way.

Dear Gordon Brown sold all the gold, and started grabbing pensions funds

No the Tory’s didn’t do a good job, but then they had nothing to work with really hence austerity, which any future government will need to consider because of Rachel and her inability to be a good chancellor (not sure what she has on Keir but there must be something she should have gone a long time ago)

as to noses in the trough, are you seriously telling me Labour ( and indeed other parties) don’t do the same? Mrs S and her dresses? Remember that?

All parties are the same, all full of career MPs who have never held down a job in the real world

Dresses compared to the Tory troughing!!! PPE is all I have to say to that.

GingerRhubarb · 05/05/2026 18:42

Golly what will you do when Labour continue to right the many years of Tory wrongs without Kier to focus on because you have little else.

StMarie4me · 05/05/2026 18:42

The woman who wants to ban all maternity allowance having claimed it herself?

okay…

Do you think the PPE scandal will inform voters decisions on Thursday?

Or, is it more likely to be local matters, or Starmer’s vetting failures, or Reeve’s mismanagement of the economy, or Rayner’s tax fiddling etc

Meanwhile Starmer perpetually tried to burnish his working class credentials with ‘toolmakers son’

Ad nauseum.

His father WAS a toolmaker.

Vetting failures, economy and supposed tax fiddling. 🤣Were you asleep the last 14 years? Tory revolving doors, Truss and Zahawi ring any bells?

HobGobblynne · 05/05/2026 18:47

Badbadbunny · 05/05/2026 14:59

We KNOW Starmer is useless.

We only "suspect" Kemi may be useless.

There's a difference.

Yes, two cheeks of the same arse, but we really don't want any more Starmer. Worth a risk to give someone else a chance.

We don’t, we know the party that she not only represents but played an active and key role in during their time in power, was useless.

All we know now is, she’s happy to ride on the back of popular opinion that Starmer is awful and that she’s back in the role of “say anything you like cos you don’t have to action it”

What could possibly make you think she’s any different to every other political party leader that isn’t in power?

Djdjd · 05/05/2026 18:47

My DC works in renewables and is hurt but how the Tories want to scrap net zero.

And she has no policies!

You know, you really should let go of the past - it’s not healthy.

Incidentally, here’s one for you.

Compare gilts today with the Truss high… You will like it, not a lot….

I’m Scottish. I have no issue with either the Tory or the Labour Party. They talk so much more sense than any of the other options. I’m voting Labour in constituency and Tory on the list.

People who are voting for local councillors with any of those issues in mind, probably ought not to be allowed to vote.

She makes an such excellent mouthpiece, I hope she gets a healthy bonus. It would be a shame to do all that political prostituting unpaid.

I would love to think she is truly decent and speaking up for Jewish people. Much needed right now. I expect she is just after votes though.

She is a good speaker, and that is half the qualification needed for a politician.

Yeah you and Tory HQ would love that. Unfortunately for you both whatever happens Thursday a GE is a long way off and I can guarantee that the entire country will not be forgetting the 14 years of Tory catastrophe when we’re all electing a new prime minister as opposed to a few councillors.

Scraping the barrel if you’re bigging up Truss’s economic disasters.
