Polanski thinks he's Zelensky.
Reform are louts.
It's going to be Labour/Tory, it always is, and Starmer is just flailing about. I'm so disappointed. Wait 14 years and Starmer turns up is beyond a joke.

I disagree. I don’t think the tories are going to win people over again easily at all. Reform have stolen a lot of their support, Lib Dem’s have too.

Are you actually joking? You think that kids don't live in poverty in the UK in 2026? You're the person that made a joke about starving kids - not me. My goodness. I'm actually cringing for you

How far do you live from UK children living in poverty?
I used to live near council estate area and haven't seen a single child without a snack or a smartphone (when older). The kids of single uneducated non-working women, not starving at all.

And the snapshot you saw of a handful of kids on a council estate years ago speaks for all impoverished children across the nation.

Talking a tougher line on immigration and cutting back on benefits. Have voted conservative all my life but I voted Reform in the GE because I had lost faith in them.

Have you considered why half of the country consider Reform racist? Do you agree with things like "any normal and fairminded person would have a perfect right to be concerned if a group of Romanian people suddenly moved in next door,"?

Must confess - I am REALLY looking forward to Thursday, and the morning after the night before.

I hope MN’s servers can handle the meltdown….

You might have to wait until Friday afternoon/evening. Counting doesn't begin until Friday morning in most cases, I think.

It is a bit sad that you are looking forward to crowing on MN about the racists doing well. But you do you etc.

It’s more likely Starmer and co doing badly. All the other parties will benefit from that.

Greenbather · 05/05/2026 15:15

There are not local elections in every part of England, i won't be getting a vote on Thursday (NW) but of course I am still interested in the results.

Let's see if the Kemi effect leads to positive results for the Tories.

JollyDenimSeal · 05/05/2026 15:16

Hallowedturf · 05/05/2026 15:08

Call it Starmer’s magnetism.

Besides, there is an elephant in the room, in the shape of Thursday’s local elections, and the devolved elections…

There's no elephant in the room. It's well known that people will be voting Reform on Thursday. They are predicted to get 12 MSPs up here - with Tory and Labour losses. It's not like its some big secret is it?

Pearl69 · 05/05/2026 15:17

it was only a few weeks ago she wanted us to launch into an illegal war with Trump. Then furiously back tracked

Then proceeded to accuse our Navy of “hanging around” expecting them to go sailing off in ships that couldn’t sail because the Navy was gutted by the last 14 years if Tory rule.

She is pro hunt and culling .

She’s in a complete muddle over North Sea oil. It’s not ours because it was sold off.

she was part of the last disastrous Tory government who have caused so many problems we have today.

She does not talk sense at all or can be trusted either.

People voting Reform are not a secret, and % has been more or less the same for a long time.
"Strategical voters", on the other hand - I wonder who they'll choose. It may be last minute decision.

It is a bit more complex than just Labour getting flattened, which we all know is going to happen. If the Tories were doing the flattening that would be one thing. But that isn't the case here.

She also knows fuck all about sensitive issues, as demonstrated by her tweet featuring Bloody Sunday footage.

Can you use her real name? Why use slurs like this. @WaffleBombhas said why it’s bad, why not listen.

I would be happy to see the Tories do well. It ain't going to happen, sadly. But I am sure the Kemi supporters won't put the blame at her door.

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 05/05/2026 15:26

She’s excellent. She has a really wide set of experience, to draw on. I really rate her. It’s just a shame the rest of the shower- on all sides, are so corrupt.

Again, how can you claim to care about racism then use Enoch Powell's name as a slur against a black woman?

I agree it is not helpful to use slurs. I am sure no-one on MN ever uses them about other politicians...

I think it's because we're so used to political leaders, flip flopping, prevaricating, back tracking and trying to hold multiple ideological positions, we're all stunned to see somebody clearly state their views.

She knows there is no other tactic now that Reform have opened the channels of realistic debate.

Given the barriers Kemi faces by many with similar views as below and the type of slur it’s reality not helpful for women.

JollyDenimSeal · 05/05/2026 15:30

1 in 3 kids live in poverty in the UK - what's she going to do about that. The Scottish govt give a child payment of just under 29 pounds a week per child for people on low incomes and it's rising to 40 pounds in 27/28

I really don't care about personality politics. I care about what a Government is going to do for people who are struggling (and I'm not an SNP fangirl either). Plenty of policies I don't agree with

I don't agree with MPs getting subsidised food and drink either (not on their salaries) or the expenses that some of them have claimed for

What's Kemi going to do for people who are struggling (not just the unemployed either, people in in work poverty and those struggling across the board)?

I don't care if she talks a good talk. Starmer did (I don't vote Labour). It's walking the walk that counts
