Who else finds bank Holiday Mondays annoying!!

Ive completely wasted the day...

Me too as I don't work Mondays! I missed my child free day!

Why would anyone else be annoyed because you wasted your day? Chill out — was there something v important you needed to do?

I don’t see anything wrong with workers and children getting an extra day off! People need a small break from time to time.

I don’t work every other Monday which would include this one so also missed a child free day. But I’m aware of the concept of others existing and having needs!

I didn't do any housework and didn't go out.
Feel a bit meh. Didn't even have a good sleep.
Its like a weird day.

Why’s it bank holidays fault? Everyone has off days!

It’s a paid day off work- love it!

I worked as we don't get bank holidays. It does mean I get to take the day when it suits me.

i don't work Fridays and when the kids are off (or on exam leave like my youngest) I really miss my empty house for a few hours, so I get you op

My ds was at a birthday party and I spent the morning pottering and planting seeds been a lovely day . I work shifts so wouldn’t be working anyway

I did some overtime (from home) and then browsed online furniture shops and watched videos of people renovating their new build garden. I am not a massive fan of bank holiday’s in general, even though its a day off work for me, not sure why, but have always felt like this over BH’s.

You can buy a t shirt cos shops are open but two of our local chemists are shut for 3 days as they arent open weekends Priorities eh!

I've been mountaineering... laundry mountain is conquered for at least 2 days now.

It's been nice having a bonus day to re-order life partway through the term.

I used to be the same and there was one year (I think it was King Charles' coronation) that had the additional Monday BH so I missed so many of them! Have now swapped my non-working day to Friday 🤣

I agree. Too busy on the roads/ towns.. Not always able to plan something interesting. More likely to be out all day on the Saturday/ Sunday.

Id rather it was a Wednesday off. Lol

Most places are closed or about to.

I have to work bank holidays, it was dead as all the businesses we trade with are closed as it bank holiday, such a waste of bloody time having to work, thankfully I was WFH so it was more bearable

No, day off work, how can that be annoying? We went out but even relaxing at home for a day is a bonus.

I can see that if you're retired or don't work for some other reason, the closure of places and so on might be annoying, but that's a selfish attitude to hold, and the vast majority of places in towns and cities open anyway.

I feel I’ve kind of wasted mine too but we’ve taken an emotional battering this weekend so I think the down day was actually needed.
I was productive this morning but the weather has been crappy. Ds and I played a quick blast of padel just now which was fun, might see if he fancies a swim while we’re here, we have our stuff in our gym bags anyway and I’ll at least feel his day hasn’t been a total waste of a bonus day off…

I find it annoying because I have to work when most people don't!
